LEGO City Police Station Set 7498

My son begged for this Police Station set for a year. He finally received it for Christmas. At age five, he needed assistance in assembling it. Once it was assembled, it became the focus of the Lego table in our home. It is well designed with moving jail cell doors, mini bathrooms and even a teeny lego Keurig machine in the office! Definitely was worth the purchase price. My only regret was that we didn't glue it together to keep it in one piece!

9 yr old daughter loves this

She played with this lego set for about 30 min the day i bought it and i thought, i just wasted close to $100. But the next day she got the box, poured everything out and played with it for 2 hrs straight. And she conitnues to play with it. The many small pieces along with the price were surprising. I remember legos for $10 way way back...but times have changed at lego i guess. The pcs dont lock together as securely as they used to when i had a lego set 35-40 yrs ago and the price is high....but i definitly recommened this set. My daughters attention span is short...so to have her play with this set for 2 hrs every few days is amazing.

Almost complete, but still good quality and fun

According to manual, there are actually 4~6 missing pieces. But guess I can live with it considering the time it has been through. Appreciate to effort of packaging, the whole set has been carefully separated and categorized and wrapped. It didn't take long to reassembly the set. A bit dusty, I have to wipe them out. Thought it was some quality time and fun with old toy. The main reason of purchasing this set is it is the same set appear in the LEGO CITY mini movies, one of my daughter's favorite.

Consider this if you are a Lego fanatic :)

Beautifully crafted, visually pleasing, large but full of light....even Grandad noticed and remarked well on it and that's saying something!). The attention to detail is lovely and it has some nifty features e.g. the jail cell doors slide across as a single unit, the garage doors roll upwards and prisoners can escape down the prison walls through secret hatches. It comes with a police car, van and bicycle, guards and prisoners. A child will have hours of fun putting this together.

Great Toy

Purchased this for my 5yr old son, I put it together for him it took me a couple hours but it was well worth it. He loves it, his older sister and younger brother love it as well and try to play with it. It is not good when there are so many hands going at it at once, but when it is just him, he could play with it for hours.I couldn't see paying so much for it though, we bought it when it was on sale for Christmas, otherwise I don't think it would be worth it. Legos are easily lost and trashed to spend so much on.But my son is overall very happy with it and so am I.

Great Versatile Set!

My 10 year old and 4 year old were able to assemble this, with some help from Mom... It is a really cool little set! There are so many ways to play and different things to keep them entertained and use their imaginations. Very versatile. Seems to hold up well, so far anyway... It is on the expensive side for the size of the actual set, but all Lego's are. My only complaint would be that the station has a helipad but came with no helicopter.... The Lego City Helicopter works with it but it just seems like for the price you're paying for the set they could have included the little helicopter!

Hours of fun

My 9 year old asked for this for christmas as he loves lego. I wasnt going to buy it as I had already bought him lots of lego and this was quite expensive. Then I saw it on offer at smyths at a really great price so I got it. When it came after looking at all the stuff inside it is worth paying full price as it will keep them entertained for hours. You get a lot of lego for your money. Will have a very happy little boy Christmas morning.

My 4 Year Old Grandson Loves This

I bought this for my Grandson at Xmas. We spent 3 fun filled hours building and putting the Lego together. It was a learning curve for us both! Realistically it is two toys in one. A building project and now a toy he spends hours playing with. Smyths Toys had this Lego at a competitive price and it was delivered the day before Xmas Eve (Monday) even though I only ordered it on the Saturday. A pleasure to deal with..... I would highly recommend SMYTHS.

Who doesn't love Legos

Bought this for my son for his 7th birthday. He loves anything Lego. This did not disappoint. He was able to put it together by himself over the period of a few days. I like that it was organized into several bags. Be careful not to open all included packages at once, so you don't lose pieces or have a mess of parts all over.We love that there are lots of smaller Lego City add on products as well.

brilliant for lego fans!

Got this for my 6 year old and he is thrilled with it. The instructions are easy to follow and between us both we built it in less than an hour on christmas morning, even before 'Herbie' was finished on TV! There are quite a few instruction booklets which means you can get one each and just pick up the corresponding bag ( I think there were about 7 bags, which made it really easy to find the bits you needed). I'm still amazed at how much patience and concentration it encourages, and believe me my son is normally doing things at 100mph! It has lovely extra touches like the secret cavity below the cell beds, the roll-up doors and the sliding cell doors. Both him and his twin brother have played loads with it already. I've only given it 4 stars because it is pricey, ... MoreGot this for my 6 year old and he is thrilled with it.
