What a Great looking replica of this Classic 1966 Batmobile. The Engineering Design Team really outdone themselves with this gem. I grew up watching the 1966 Batman series when I was a kid and while I was building this set, the theme was playing in my head which brought tears to my eyes.It was Great that there was an option to leave the studshooters out, which the Batmobile didn't have machine guns and had pieces to cover it up which left 4 studs on the front of the hood exposed. I added (2) 1x2 flat tiles to cover them up. There were 2 gaps in the upper fin area which I filled in with 1x2 tile pieces. I also replaced the red dome light and the gold radar pieces with studs. Added a black handle bar piece for the antenna and an extra piece from the Lamborghini ... MoreWhat a Great looking replica of this Classic 1966 Batmobile. All the gray pieces under the canopies and trunk hinge were replaced with black. Now where is Robin the Boy Wonder? The show was known for the Dynamic Duo. I borrowed a Robin from another set which is the wrong one, but better than none. Included was the Classic Joker Minifig with the white powdered mustache which was a plus. All in all, an Awesome set, but with the modifications, a Super Awesome Adult set that was fun to build. Thank you Lego for making this Classic happen in a Lego model to own. Batman!!! Kapow@$?%

Being someone that was born over 35 years after the series began in 1966, I can say that even I like this model. It's accurate to the show and is very unique from other sets. it's also a rather dense build, which makes it a little heavier than you'd expect. The stud shooters are nice play features, and it's cool that they can be removed and replaced with other pieces. The stand makes more displayable, and it's simple but effective. The minifigures are good. They are well detailed and are accurate to the show, albeit it would be better if they had extra detailing. The value is pretty good. It is a rather dense build and the stand adds extra value. Despite all the pros, there is one major thing missing from this set: Robin, the minifigure missing from the set. It's very disappointing that he is not in the set, and it results in the set being less complete. Despite Robin being missing, I feel this is a very good set, and I recommend it if you're interested in it.

Let's begin with the good points. I missed out on getting the classic batcave so jumped at the chance to purchase my favourite batmobile to my mind this is the most iconic of all the batmobile,s ever!. The finished build brought a nostalgic tear to my eye & the rotating display plate is a nice added touch. The minifigures are great renditions of both the caped crusader and arch enemy the Joker. I especially like the moustache on the Joker as fans of the 1960,s will appreciate. Now for the bad points. No Robin! I hope Lego will release the classic batcopter at a later date with the boy wonder included. You have an option with or without shooters on the front hood I prefer the latter as this is more authentic on display the shooters are quite rightly there to add play ... MoreLet's begin with the good points. You have an option with or without shooters on the front hood I prefer the latter as this is more authentic on display the shooters are quite rightly there to add play value. The removed shooters left 2 studs showing that left the hood looking unfinished. I remedied this by adding 2× 2-1 slates and the fins on the rear of the batmobile had an unsightly gap that I remedied by using 2×2-1 flat pieces. These 4 small pieces gave the build a better finish. I had these 4 small pieces in my box of spares so it wasn't to much of a problem. I'm sure Lego take great pride in there product but these minor alterations gave a better finish to the build & maybe Lego could take more care in the future. Overall I recommend all batfans purchase this build but add the 4 pieces for a better finish.
I built this with my father and my son. All of us like Batman and a project like a car and with characters is great. Kids put together characters and can mimic what you demonstrate on one side of a car as you go through instructions step by step. I do think the Instructions in general could use some help. I am always available to discuss better user experience in that realm if Lego is interested.
This set is a really fantastic build, I'm so happy that LEGO made this a retail set instead of a Limited Edition gift with purchase like the 40433 1989 Batmobile. I hope this set is successful and launches a whole line of Batmobiles from different Batman films and TV. This Batmobile is sleek, with a sharp retro design, and a nice stand for it to rotate on. A great small display set for any shelf or desk. The two minifigures are Adam West's Batman and Caesar Romero's Joker. Joker is a 10/10 figure, a great update from the 2016 version. Batman here is great, except for the lack of dual molded legs or printing on the side of the legs to make the tights look better. The big problem with this set is the lack of Burt Ward's Robin, especially because the Batmobile is ... MoreThis set is a really fantastic build, I'm so happy that LEGO made this a retail set instead of a Limited Edition gift with purchase like the 40433 1989 Batmobile. The big problem with this set is the lack of Burt Ward's Robin, especially because the Batmobile is designed for two figures to sit inside. However, I would recommend this Batmobile set to LEGO fans of all ages, and a must get for Batman fans.
Not the easiest Lego set I ever assembled, but the cool factor alone makes it a no brainer for the Adam West/TV Batman fan, and it was a fun father and son build. It’s clearly made more for displaying than playing, but it is designed to be a fully functional, rolling, stud-firing action toy with batman and joker mini-figures and a couple of accessories for them. The display stand w/plaque is cool, allowing the car to be rotated to any angle, and it makes a nice companion piece to the Batman’s Cowl set, which also has a display base with a similar plaque. Follow up sets of all the other vehicles from the show, perhaps given a more detailed treatment than the ones that came with the Batcave/Wayne Manor set, would be a welcome addition too.
I have been collecting batman memorabilia for over 10 years and Im always looking for new and unusual items. This fits the bill. I love the old 60s Batman and to find a Batmobile of that era as a lego kit was absolutely fantastic. I will add it to my growing collection, but i will not put it together, in the box its worth more, so i may have to buy another to have the joy of putting one together. I would definitely do business again. If you have another let me know, I would love to purchase it. Thanks again. Batman
Yes! That's correct. The scale of this Batmobile, with a real life 18.5 feet, is true to the common scale of all Speed Champion sets. It is fun to build, a beautiful replica of the 1966 Batmobile, invoking memories of slanted camera angles, POW! BAM! BANG!The only missing addition that the designer should done was a blazing fire from the tail, and LEGO makes several. I used 85959px1, which is huge, but after trying many smaller flames, I liked this one best. See my pics.
I love this set. I watched the series while building it for an extra meta experience and it was so much fun. First of all, the Joker may be my favorite minifigure ever. The painted-over mustache is something I've loved since I was a little kid, I dressed as Romero Joker for Halloween a few years ago and wore a fake mustache and painted over it, so to see it in minifig form is literally the BEST. The Batman one is terrific, too. And the Batmobile itself was a great build! It was different than other vehicles I've built so I appreciated the different techniques utilized here. If I had to find one complaint, it would have been so much cooler to gave some kind of mechanism that shoots a grappling hook out or even a parachute, or both, but now I'm getting greedy.
