I think this mediocre set overall for reasons. First of all, this was my anticipation set I was waiting for and very excited as first set to feature mobile app as digital RC but tiny set besides new Lego City train sets with same controlled feature. The base price is somewhat fair due to I think the motorized units especially the bluetooth battery box makes the small set price higher similar to the rechargeable battery box costs $50.Upon playing & carefully researching this set, I noticed something glitch on motor parts and bit tough to operate in app. Without any attachment to motor, using power functions app with manual speed adjustment, when I initially set to 10% speed I noticed no movement to the motor but I only heard electrical sound that supposedly move ... MoreI think this mediocre set overall for reasons. Above that percent means has movements. What's the purpose of 10% if no movement for motor? The only way to make a motor move a very little is to adjust the speed to even higher percentage and slowly lower it back to 10. I know it's not a big deal for most of you but that's how the most motor sets supposed to respond a tiny bit without disappointment. My other concern is the attached pieces to the motor. I understand that adding axle, gear, pegs, tire, etc. will create slow response and more resistance to motor and more resistance means you consume more battery power. When I attached all these pieces all the way in and operate with full battery on flat surface, the initial movement for the set starts at 40% speed but when I adjust and loose all pieces a bit, it improved at 30% even 20%. While operating at carpet, it creates even more resistance to the motor and hard to steer in slow movement not only due to non-flat surface as well as easily to pick up foreign objects such as dirt & hair and wrapping around gear & axle and I had to pull out tires and everything to pull out these dirts.I think it needs to have physical RC and steer improvement for rough surface such as outdoor use better than tank-turn type with doing excess turns outside home will get the tire worn that's why in product's description say it's for indoor use only. Also sometimes you have to handle this set with care because there's a small chance you might press stud shooter by accident and lose the red tiny pieces if you're careless.

I thought it was a pretty easy build. I liked the unique Batman minifig. Would have been nice if the finished Batmobile resembled an actual Batman vehicle, but it's still a good looking vehicle.I actually really liked the app to control it. I was surprised how fun it was. It moves the way you would expect a tank to move with controls for each side of the vehicle. There are 2 options in the app that you can use to control it. One is a little more advanced with sliders to control the speed that each side moves and the other with just a button to move each side. Also, the app has 3 buttons built in where the Batmobile will perform pre-determined actions, including sound FX from your phone. I had a wheel pop off once on the carpet because it wouldn't turn. But it worked great on the hardwood.

First of all I will state that this was an impulse purchase so I know now I really should have done some research into this product first..The build was nice and straight forward, and the final vehicle is pretty cool batman representation even if it is non specific.Sadly even though I have a modern up to date phone, less than 6 months old, I realise now that the app is not officially supported for me. The list of supported phones seems quite slim. The app itself kind of works but glitches constantly, with either left/right control locking up. This seems like a bug in the Android App.I was also thinking I could maybe re-purpose the motors/control unit in other models further down the line, but I did not realise they are the new wedo style and not compatible ... MoreFirst of all I will state that this was an impulse purchase so I know now I really should have done some research into this product first..The build was nice and straight forward, and the final vehicle is pretty cool batman representation even if it is non specific.Sadly even though I have a modern up to date phone, less than 6 months old, I realise now that the app is not officially supported for me. Overall a fairly simple build- some nice engineering with the technic pieces at the beginning of the build but not as much for some of the finishing pieces toward the end.I’ve not connected thr Bluetooth yet so I won’t comment on that ( but I’ve read it really sucks - but will update my review after I get it set up and try out the controls)My biggest complaint is the wires that connect the battery to the engines-A door is hinged to try to cover over these but it fails miserably. The wires are too long and press the door back open. Additionally the bat icon on this little hinges door pops off very easily when you try to close it-This feature was poorly designed in my opinion. The set also came with several interesting bat themed pieces -But for some of ... MoreOverall a fairly simple build- some nice engineering with the technic pieces at the beginning of the build but not as much for some of the finishing pieces toward the end.I’ve not connected thr Bluetooth yet so I won’t comment on that ( but I’ve read it really sucks - but will update my review after I get it set up and try out the controls)My biggest complaint is the wires that connect the battery to the engines-A door is hinged to try to cover over these but it fails miserably. The wires are too long and press the door back open. Later some of them are placed.I’ll include some pics of the crumby back battery hatch with the giant wires sticking out and the icon that falls off when you try to ouch the hatch closed
The Batmobile was a great build in such as compact body. Although it's hard to say what the origins of the vehicle and minifigure are from, it's still a cool Lego Model.Despite the low piece count, the motor / battery box seem to account for the higher price. My plan was to use the motor / battery box for other purposes in the future and this seems to be the only way to get the Bluetooth functionality.Where it really fails is the controls / handling of the Batmobile. As others mentioned, controlling the Batmobile through the app is a bit of a challenge as well. You essentially have two controls, one to power each side of the vehicle. It moves forward / backwards well, however when it turns it vibrates/jumps a bit. I believe it's due to the grip of the tires and ... MoreThe Batmobile was a great build in such as compact body. I believe it's due to the grip of the tires and that turning is based on powering just one side of the vehicle (or reversing the opposing side). For the Bluetooth capabilities this set is pretty cool, however the overall design of the steering for the set detracts from this set being awesome.
Summary: The model is cool and can be played with well without the Powered Up functions being activated, but the Powered Up connectivity is very sketchy, especially considering the high price for a relatively small vehicle.Detail: The Batmobile looks great and was fun to build. It has lots of cool, sloping armour, four shooters, a good variety of pieces and a cool looking Batman mini-figure with lots and Bat-accessories. However, no-one would pay GBP £90 for such a small model if it wasn't for the promise of remote control power and fun, which is why the price is so high and why I chose to buy it. The trouble is, the new Powered Up system really isn't working. The trouble is, the new Powered Up system really isn't working. This is my first experience of it and I was looking forward to my 5 year old son controlling it and programming it via my smart phone. I'm so disappointed because the Batmobile won't stay connected properly for more than a minute or two. One set of wheels will stop working, or continuously drive when we don't want it to, or the whole thing will disconnect completely. The phone and Batmobile were never more than a few feet apart, and distance doesn't seem to make a difference. My son likes it, but that's because he doesn't understand cost and value... it's worth noting that I paid less than half the recommended retail price for this set, and I'm still not happy with it. If I'd have paid more I'd be taking it back to the shop for a refund.I really hope this isn't representative of the Powered Up functionality overall, especially as it's supposed to be replacing the Power Functions system, which I've always found to be much more reliable. As an aside, I wonder what happens to our Powered Up Lego sets when Lego stops supporting the controller apps in the future, or when Bluetooth technology becomes redundant. I'm still playing with my Lego from the 1970s alongside and intermingled with our modern purchases, and it concerns me that Lego might have designed new sets that will one day be unusable. Lego is not and should not be a disposable product.
I'll be honest- as cool as this looked, I never would have spent the amount that it cost. Especially with such few pieces go put together... but I this one got added to our collection as a birthday present from my fiance and daughter.I ended up quite surprised of how long it took me to put together a mere 321 piece set, even though I was also watching tv. It took me longer to build the 1k+ bb8 that we got a while back!It was confusing to figure out where to get the app to control it, and it can be finicky when it needs to reconnect to a device. However, it is Very fun to drive around, and surprisingly sturdy! (We may or may not have Batman drive through the LEGO ruble of a crumbled Gotham City....)I also really enjoy the two different app interfaces to operate ... MoreI'll be honest- as cool as this looked, I never would have spent the amount that it cost. Bought this for my son as a late xmas gift after the new year. Had some MAJOR problems getting our hands on it - had to go to a few different stores (they all said they had 1 or 2 left in stock but once we got there, we couldn't locate one...) so after our 4th store, we ordered online and had it shipped. My son commented that it was relatively easy to build. He was able to sync it to his iPad with no difficulty and he was off and running. He did note that it did NOT drive well on carpet. So he drove it on the small space that is our kitchen floor. This toy is relatively quiet (for all you parents out there who hate those loud, annoying toys that get inside your head)The toy is not huge, just about the same footprint as an iPad. I had fun building this weird little batmobile (like others not sure what this is based off of...maybe the latest LEGO video game, but that doesn't matter). I was very psyched to be able to drive a LEGO batmobile. That lasted all of ten minutes after my build was complete. The app is very sketchy. There are NO instructions on where or how to download the app. The URL in the instruction book only takes you to a page with features and a video. No link to get the app nor information on the app. Plus the webpage is improperly formatted for mobile and shows the HTML code. Indicative of the fact that the app itself isn't all that great. It took along time for the blue tooth to connect to a brand new (fully updated) iPhone 8 that was only two inches from the control ... MoreI had fun building this weird little batmobile (like others not sure what this is based off of...maybe the latest LEGO video game, but that doesn't matter). Indicative of the fact that the app itself isn't all that great. It took along time for the blue tooth to connect to a brand new (fully updated) iPhone 8 that was only two inches from the control brick. After my initial play time. I shut down the app (you can't really power off the brick as far as I can tell -- again no instructions). When I went back to play again I could not reconnect to the Batmobile at all! I had to do a hard reboot of my phone for it to pair again. (Tested this and it appears this is how I am going to have to do it EVERY time I want to play. Good thing it was for me and not a child that will get frustrated faster than I did.) There is an awful lot of sitting around and waiting before you can even play with this toy. When the app is working it is VERY hard to control the vehicle. You have to look at the screen to make sure you are touching the correct controls. I spent a lot of time going in circles because I was watching the car and my thumb did not quite make it back into the forward motion for the left motors. There is a lot to be said for a physical (tactile) controller for toys like this. Until LEGO builds a streaming camera into these toys so you can watch the screen the whole time while playing I will stick to the standard Power Functions and controllers (until LEGO stops making them, but even then I don't think they will be able to force me into spending more money on an app controlled toy). Also now that you have to use your phone to play with your cool new toys, you no longer have a way to shoot video and share the fun (or in my case frustration).I cannot image how ticked I would be if I had purchased the train. I am NOT looking forward to LEGO killing off the current Power Functions in favor of this poorly thought out and barely functioning bluetooth app control product.
Firat I have to say that this is really cool. My 8 year old daughter loves it.A few problems we found. It takes 6 aaa batteries. We put them in and they lasted less than a day. We invested in rechargeable batteries. It is not a regular remote control car. The app has 3 buttons that you can “program” to do different things. It is drag and drop programming. When I realized this, I thought it would be over my daughters head but it wasn’t. She figured it out in no time flat and has programmed pretty elaborate stunts. Before you buy this you need to understand that it does not work like a regular RC car where you can drive it with a forward backward and turns. The app does not have any instructions. You have to link the Bluetooth every time it turns off. With all of that being said I think it is a great toy. My 8 year old daughter built it in about 3 hours. Since then she has driven it every day. She loves it. It was a little bit of a challenge that first day with all the quirks but I would still highly recommend it.
