I’m very satisfied with the LG Monitor and the performance thus far. I would point out to you that there are no internal speakers but that is ok as for I’m using my soundbar. Also please note that I wished that the menu options were a little more user friendly, it takes a while to go through all the options and if you hit the wrong button you have to start all over.

You do have to make a lot of adjustments - DO NOT USE THE FACTORY COLOR SETTINGS. 144hz is only with display port. Don't get it if you dont have a decent graphics card(basically no onboard graphics) Keep in mind when using this on a laptop(windows) itll be janky, compared to my gaming PC, my work laptop(MSI creator 15) resolution is weird but that is because it is not display port. Please keep this in mind when you factor that in. I dont care much for resolution at work just want more space on 1 screen. Even though I marked it has a 4/5 thats as a customer... this thing is EXPENSIVEEE, I got it at a discount if the discount price was the actual product price, this monitor would be 5/5 and a dominator in ultrawide 1440p monitor market. Personally 5/5, this monitor has met all the expectations I've been looking for in the past couple months of my monitor hunt

One bloke says he's battled with support not calling him back, so LG's response is to provide the same phone numbers so he can waste more time calling again. That is the very same experience I've had. Avoid spending your hard earned dollars on this folks. LG don't deserve you.

My First Widescreen Monitor!
7 October 2022

This is not only my first LG monitor but also the largest monitor I have owned as well as my first, widescreen. I absolutely cannot believe that I can do what was taking me two separate monitors on just this one monitor. This was the main point, or desire, in my wanting to own a widescreen monitor was to be able to condense and not have to use multiple monitors. So this also means using less electricity as well. I did not know until after the fact that it has built-in speakers. The sound quality is excellent and does not distort at higher volumes. I was using a wireless Bluetooth speaker but I have switched over to using LG's internal speaker on this monitor which also uses this technology called Waves MaxxAudio. I was using a wireless Bluetooth speaker but I have switched over to using LG's internal speaker on this monitor which also uses this technology called Waves MaxxAudio. The clarity for someone with less than 20/20 vision is impeccable. There are many settings options such as Custom, Cinema, Vivid, HDR Effect, FPS, RTS, and a reader mode (that has that sort of tablet sepia color to it). I will generally use the Custom feature. I like the Super Resolution+ and Black Level settings as it makes the text stand out better. Under Settings, Picture, Color Adjust, there is a Gamma feature with four separate modes. Choosing Mode 3 enhances text clarity even further and is what I am currently using. Other features include the ability to tilt the monitor forward and back. It does not have an option to raise the height of the monitor and if I had to list any cons that are literally the only one I can think of. On the rear of the monitor where the ports are there is a USB-C port which could be used to charge any devices that use a USB-C charge cable. This is definitely a monitor I would recommend for anyone to use and I mean that especially if you are working from home or for any businesses seeking to upgrade their current monitors for their employees. This is such a major space saver being able to use this one monitor and it looks so much cleaner as well.

So I guess I should have just gone and used one in the store before I jumped into buying one. However, there are a couple of notable deal breakers for me on this particular model as well, the support structure underneath the ultra wide monitor is way too flimsy for such a large panel. So any resultant budge on your keyboard or your desk means that the entire panel is going to wobble uncontrollably for a couple of seconds. So I'd only recommend this monitor if you are using a very, very sturdy desk underneath it. My wife types very daintily so it's not an issue for her. Lastly, most of the computers and tablets that I've plugged in to this monitor have been able to run the full display without any issue... But I did notice that the fan on most laptops run a lot more continuously due to the increased horsepower utilized for the graphics. This is not the same experience I have had with other dual monitor setups before so I don't know what the difference is, but there is something unique about this ultra wide display that requires more cooling from the internal fan. Long-term, I don't know how I feel about that for laptops running hot. I guarantee this is not a problem with most desktops though.

Too large to be practical

49 is just too much. The point of an ergonomic monitor is... ergonomics- primarily, minimizing head movement. But this monitor is so wide I cannot clearly read text on the sides even by moving my head. I ended up just using the middle ~60% or so of the monitor (at which point I might as well get a 38-43 ultrawide monitor). At 49, you really need this monitor to be around 3-4' from your head, but most people don't have desks that deep. The ambient light sensor seemed like a good idea, and while it usually worked well, there's no option to set an offset. For example, it would have been nice to be able to have that auto-brightness functionality, but be able to boost or reduce the brightness in case you find LG doesn't know how bright you like your monitor given the ... More49 is just too much. The ambient light sensor seemed like a good idea, and while it usually worked well, there's no option to set an offset. For example, it would have been nice to be able to have that auto-brightness functionality, but be able to boost or reduce the brightness in case you find LG doesn't know how bright you like your monitor given the ambient light. Also (and this happens with all of LG's monitors with ambient light sensors) if the brightness in the room is just right, it will constantly adjust from one brightness setting to another, since the ambient brightness is right on the threshold of those two brightness settings. It's one of those things you might just disable. LG should have the brightness adjust in small increments like a MacBook would, so that subtle changes in ambient brightness cause only subtle changes in the monitor's brightness. The stand, while a fancy rose-gold aluminum, is large and takes up a lot of depth as well as width on a desk. If you're taller than 5'6 or so, you'll probably wish the monitor would go higher on the stand and end up buying a VESA mount that allows the monitor to go higher, keeping the fancy stand in its box. The final issue I have with this monitor is that it's 60Hz. It's 2022. The monitor is (was) well over a grand. 60Hz is nonsense. I was able to overclock to 72Hz and even 75Hz, however at 75Hz LG displays this annoying out of range popup on the screen that doesn't go away. There is no way to get rid of it except to lower the resolution back to 60-72Hz. Another dumb move by LG. I'm glad to see the monitor is a third cheaper than when I bought it a few months ago, but it's still not a good choice. Go for something smaller and with a higher resolution and refresh rate.

Two Screen in One Monitor

I work in IT, I sit in front of a computer all day long, and traditionally I have been a 3 screen user for at least the past10 years. I've never been a big fan of the ultra-wide monitors, when I've tried them I find so much white space it becomes pointless. I've seen a great use for them in people in finance, working in huge excel spreadsheets, etc, but not the average worker. Well LG has changed my mind on this. Primarily due to the help of LG's OnScreen Control software that is included. This software does an Excellent job of allowing you to configure the screen in how it fits you best, 2 "virtual screens", no problem, 3? you got it. Now Windows 10/11 also has some of the capabilities built in and in other Microsoft software, but it doesn't do it quiet as gracefully as LG's software, also LG's software will only apply to its own screen, which is exactly what I want, as I still use other monitors as well. I do generally find text to be a bit crisper on this screen than my other primary monitor, and colors are certainly richer. The only oddity I experience is that sometimes it almost seems convex, because it is sitting next to a curved monitor. Part of me wishes there was a bit of a curve to this monitor. Overall adding this monitor has been huge, I've essentially "retired" the laptop screen to almost never being used, and now just use 2 monitors, with this LG being the main screen.

Wow, this is an awesome upgrade. We have it in the kitchen where my wife works from home a few days a week. She's using it to extend her desktop on the work laptop she uses. We replaced a regular 1080p monitor with this one and it's as different as night and day. Not only is this monitor lighter but it has a lot of modern inputs on the back. To me this is light as a feather. She can now have more open windows visible at the same time but those windows are larger. A lot less eye strain trying to real tiny figures jammed into a smaller screen and she doesn't have to keep alternating expanding different windows to see/move figures between them. Not only is it heavy enough to keep the monitor from tipping over if accidentally jostled, but it is wide enough that it doesn't interfere with the desk space directly in front & underneath the monitor. I did bowwow it one weekend to try it out and found that the colors looked great and there was no problem watching an HD video while also having another window open to browse the web or check my emails. Very much worth it to take advantage of a modern sized monitor.

Very "pretty" looking monitor

So I had originally planned on using this monitor to replace my dual monitor setup but changed my mind after realizing it's a flat panel and not a curved display. For some reason, ultrawide flat monitors are not as comfortable viewing as the curved versions are. That's the only reason I took as star off the product. With that being said, I really look the White on back on silver look of the monitor housing. It actually looks way better in person than I had thought it would look. Being an ultrawide monitor made it perfect for my WFH job as a web developer. I can easily split the screen in half and use half the monitor for coding and the other half for testing. Sadly the screen isn't color calibrated from the factory, but luckily I have hardware color calibration tools at home so it was easy for me to adjust the colors so it looks more like it should. The color calibration from the factory though was way off, which is another reason for the removal of a star. All in all, this is a nice monitor for my needs and should serve it's purpose well. If I had any improvements to this monitor, it would be to make it curved, add internal speakers and upgrade it to 4k resolution. However, for the current price point, it serves its purpose well.

Very Nice looking

While I'm disappointed the monitor is flat and not curved, I do like the looks of it. The white back, with silver stand and black frame looked a lot better than I thought it would look. From the factory, the color calibration was way off and I had to use my color calibration tool to get the colors to look somewhat right, but I've gotten used to doing that with low to mid-range monitors. Ultrawide monitors have always been a favorite of mine for doing work that can take advantage of the wide screen. Although I'll never use it on this monitor, it's nice to see that it comes with AMD freesync technology built in. For the price paid, it's a decent monitor. The color reproduction could use a lot of work, or at least color calibrated from the factory would've been nice. I don't see myself using this for projects that require more precise color reproductions, like video post-processing work. It will just be used for writing code where precise color isn't a necessity.
