I wrote this review but either my clumsiness or a tech glitch posted it as by ‘anonymous’. Here it is again, definitely be me, because anonymity is not good for reviewers. The fridge is now 8 months since new, purchased because of its energy efficiency to support a household on battery power. We are committed to sustainability and this fridge ticks all the boxes. The basic functions of a fridge the GB-455BTL does very well. The freezer freezes and the fridge fridges competently. The gleaming black outside looks schmick and the interior layout is flexible enough to cater for everything from leg hams and market vegetables to tall bottles of champagne and copious beer. The GB-455BTL uses minimal power across the day in reasonably even increments. That is, there are no 'spikes' of load associated with the fridge. For the price, this fridge is exceptional value. My five stars are an absolute rarity because nothing is perfect. This is close. I'll happily review the review in a year's time; I would expect nothing much to change.

I got this fridge in July 2021 and it was a slight upgrade form my ole fridge. Loved the colour over all but wish theyd made the front of the fridge the same as true sides. The sides are matte and have a sort of bumpy texture and look awesome with my marks and the front is shiny so be warned if fingerprints making the fridge look dirty are your trigger. Also there is only 1 drink section on the inside of the door which I was surprised about. But then a huge gap for nothingness. Otherwise love me a bottom mount fridge. The freezer has drawer compartments which I like. Its what I wanted just coulda been a tad better with the little things by thats life no

Super disappointed with this online purchase - tried to buy this fridge in some sort of model number with high energy rating however initially was unclearly sold a lower model with a lower energy effiency rating due to price match feature on website. Rang store and wanted to upgrade to a same looking fridge with higher energy rating. Picked out one online and was told it was in shipping eta 4 months delay and was found this model which was due any day in shipping. Agreed to model purchase as it looks the same but..Has an extra feature not mentioned that can change door from right closing to left closing meaning it has door handle recesses On Both Sides.Which looks aesthetically really un-pleasing. Did not notice this until unpacked with all the gear in it. It also ... In fact we purchased two at the one time as we originally wanted a quad door fridge but they didn't give enough freezer space for us plus most of those were too deep for our space. So we compromised and ended up with 2 of these fridges so gained more fridge space than we'd looked for. We purchased one with the water dispenser and one without. I feel that this extra fridge space will be very useful when entertaining guests and at Christmas when we often host quite a crowd. The fridge part is so easy to see what is in the fridge as it is at room height and the glass shelves make it so easy to see through. This means I can buy a good quantity of fruit and veggies and they stay really very fresh on these settings. Not sure if it would be as good if you had to use the one drawer for both fruit and veggies together. This fridge drawer can be tricky to take out to clean as the door doesn't seem to open quite far enough to get it out easily. The freezer space is fine too although it's taking me time to get used to the drawer "handles" being at the bottom of the drawer, not the top. I don't especially like the ice maker. To me it is too fiddly to fill; easy to make a mess when filling. I removed one of the ice makers and use the space for an old, easy to use ice tray and keeper Ive had for a long time. The small drawer alongside the ice maker is a bit awkward to remove and replace in the space as they door doesn't open as wide as it should to make it easy. You do need to clean the drawers from time to time and it's not always convenient to leave it in the freezer while you clean it. The fridges are exceedingly quiet. Very impressed with that. We decided we would have one of the fridges open right hinged and the other left hinged. Although there is provision for this, to ensure your warranty is ok, you need to get an LG service agent to do this and it was quite an expensive "option". It cost about $170 for the callout and the half hour it took. But I think this was the right decision as you expect a fridge like this to give at least one decade of great use and hopefully many more years. Although the sticker on the front says in big print 10 years warranty that is a little misleading as there is small print. So read that warranty information carefully.
Don't buy this fridge if you value having a peaceful home to live in. I can hear it over the television, and of a night I now need to close my bedroom door to block out the noise coming from the kitchen. There's a couple of distinct noises - a loud buzzing sound, and a low-level humming. You can even hear the humming through walls, with doors closed, e.g. in one of my bathrooms which shares a wall with the kitchen, I can hear the humming in there. Wonderful fridge otherwise, on the rare occasion that it's not buzzing or humming. Nice colour and keeps stuff cold & fresh. But the noise is driving me slowly mad and I am close to returning it.
I have very good experience with both this refrigerator and Harvey Norman. Harvery Norman delivery people are always a charm to interact with. From confirming the delivery date, to agreeing to pick up my old refrigerator, to bringing it up to my apartment, very professional. They recommend letting the refrigerator stand still for an hour before turning it on so the compressor has had time to settle down. They also told me to remove any stickers and plastics from the outside and inside, which took me about an hour. I left the sticker that covers the five star rating.The matte black looks amazing. The refrigerator itself is very quiet. When plugged in initially, there was a slight bit of humming noise, but even that went away over time. The cooling settings out of ... I was sadly quite excited for this purchased - given it's just a fridge - as I was keen to replace our old noisy fridge. However, I immediately noticed that motor is quite load and seems to be running a large majority of the time. My in-laws bought a new fridge of similar price (but different brand) a couple of years ago and you literally do not hear it ever. I am very disappointed by this constant noise so I ran the diagnostic check but it checked out all okay, so I assume this is normal operation, especially having seen some similar comments on reviews. I am considering now selling this fridge and replacing with another brand. Very inconvenient, so not happy at all!
