I'm sure this microwave oven will turn out to be excellent at what it does – microwave food. But it has a few niggly problems that reduce the rating to four star. The first is that it slips around when you open the door, unless it happens to be sitting on a non-slip surface. The problem is two fold. First, there are no rubber feet, just metal pads, shaped from the metal making up the base. Second, a plastic cover protecting something, protrudes past the metal pads. So as well as making the oven not sit perfectly level, this plastic cover causes the oven to slip around. I considered the footing to be such a poor design that I spent about an hour glueing on rubber feet and removing the plastic protrusion. A buyer shouldn't have to do that. One other problem. To set the time you have to disconnect the power. No sweat if you never lose power, but if you do lose power, even momentarily, the time is reset. You then have to disconnect the power again to change the time, and probably read the manual to work out how to do so. The designers should have thought of a better method to set the time, and also a method to keep the clock going through a power outage.

Within one year of buying this microwave it stopped heating and started making a clicking noise. Turntable turns, buttons and lights work but no heating. I contacted LG by email...nothing..I called their overseas call centre who stated that to process a refund/repair I had to visit the service centre. Closest one is Margate, Caboolture or on the GC. I'm in Brisbane so it's a 2 hour round trip to get a service report to prove it's faulty to get a refund. I haven't the time or energy so it's going to the tip where it belongs. I won't be buying LG again. It's sad as they used to be a reputable company and reliable product. I bought this microwave 3 years ago second hand. I've just seen lots of reviews claiming it doesn't last but I wanted to refute as mine is still as good as the day I got it. In fact, my Mum bought the model up with higher capacity and hers has also lasted 3 years. Nice, even reheating. Great defrost settings, although like all microwaves isn't always perfect at defrosting. It's also much quicker to work than most other microwaves. The only real issue is that the turntable will sometimes come off and need to be put back on centre but that's only if I'm picking things out. I don't know if there was a bad batch that the unlucky few got, but I haven't had a single issue with mine and would absolutely highly recommend. It's not cheap, but it was still a great purchase.
