A great light kit that can be even better with some extra effort

As provided, white 1x2 plates from LMB poke through the portholes and create an inconsistent look in daylight, since the rest of the portholes have the 1x2 rounded plates with open holes that set the white bricks behind a little further back. That's a good effect. With some further disassembly, you can take the LMB plates and set them behind the 1x2 open hole plates to create perfect consistency. I fully understand why LMB doesn't make this their standard approach, since this requires some careful work and the extra parts I mentioned above - but for me, the extra effort was worth it and complete the look that LMB made possible.I also got an LMB dimmer to control the brightness, and that works great with a 1.0 to 2.0 converter (until LMB makes a 2.0 dimmer available. This 2.0 Titanic kit is a great product from LMB and I'm glad I got it!

This is a great kit. The 2.0 flat cables (aka "belts) do not interfere with the brick-heavy construction of the Titanic. The lighting effects lead to an adult, rather than "toy-like" effect. The lack of lights in the interior (like the prior version) avoids undesirable light leakage.I did make one modification. The LMB approach to lighting the lower decks' portholes puts white plates directly through the black mounts - which produces an inconsistent effect when the ship is not lighted in the daytime. Although more tedious, it is simple enough with plenty of 1x2 bricks and plates (of any color - they will not be visible) to substitute for the long white bricks in the original build so that that the LMB porthole lighting can be set back behind the 1x2 rounded plates ... MoreThis is a great kit. This produces a more consistent effect. I don't blame LMB for not defaulting to this, however - it's a bit of a pain!Either way, you get a great result that is well worth it. Thank you LMB!
