I’m not gonna lie....was disappointed by the new connectors on the leads & at over 8knotts I get a lot of interference. However I have moved my transducer & have you to test.Lovely big clear screen, beautiful colour palette. A doddle to fit....& a child could operate it. Loads of great features. Cmap genesis is awesome! Go to the website & download an extremely detailed map of the area you intend to fish....totally freeOverall I am pleased. After I’ve got a bit more used to it & fixed the interference I’m sure I’ll be very happy.Faithfully Mike

If you are thinking that having the ability to map your favorite body of water is a great idea, think again. It only works if you want to invest an additional cost for a premium subscription. I've logged over 400 acres of water and uploaded to their free service and poof it gone, never to return for my use. Appears we are doing all the work, so Lowrance can sell all of our mapping. The unit does not come with a user's manual, but if you can figure out how to find it on your unit the 86 pages will be good reading while you're trying to fish. The manual is extremely slow loading. On a positive note, once you talk with customer support so the can explain how and why the transducer is turned off from the factory and how to get to the screen to turn it on, it works fine.

outstanding unit, only thing that would be nice is preset buttons for switching views for less button clicks. side scan has a nice picture and easy to spot fish left and right of the boat. down scan with fish reveal is awesome for seeing bottom structure and not having to split the screen with sonar. maps are excellent for the lakes I fish, if it didn't cover it with the base map, you can make your own. overall great unit for 400.00
Really want to give the unit 5 stars, but was disappointed that it didn’t come with a cover ( available separately ). Otherwise it looks great and is a big improvement from my Hook 4 Chirp. Great , fast shipping fromSportsman’s Warehouse too. Getting ready to take it on saltwater today, so I’ll update after some more use.

This structure may be only 12 feet deep and you don't want to drive over the structure to see where it is if you are fishing. You should just glide up to the boat position Waypoint and fish the structure without disturbing the fish that may be on the structure. This is the most efficient way to fish. Any GPS can place you on the face of the earth and the mapping that may be included in the unit or the $200 you spend on a may card will only give you general information that everyone who owns that map card will have. When you find structure to fish that is not on the map card, you have found something that no one else knows about. The chart is great but the Sonar is far beyond what can be found in the market at any price. The Fish Reveal is like having two sonar types in one picture. The DownScan shows what the bottom is made up of and the Fish Reveal shows the fish in the water column better than you can imagine. Get one of these for yourself and you will be a fan of the Hook Reveal like I am. This is a fish finder that is a Key Pad operation unit only, no touch screen. This keeps the Hook product affordable but the Sonar is top of the line which is why you purchase the product in the first place. The speed in which this unit changes screens does not impair the use of this unit. It is a fast as you need to catch fish. The only thing I would advise is to get the largest screen you can afford because the larger the screen, the more enjoyable it is to use it!
I bought the Elite 9 Ti two years ago and find it good but not great. It took a while to learn all of its features as it is a powerfull and sophisticated unit. To me it has two downsides: first, it's images arent as crisp or detailed Asa comparable humminbird, and more important, after two years of use I'm getting an onscreen message that my subscription to the Navionics map card that I also bought needs to be renewed to keep all of the Navionics features. HBs map card doesn't expire to my knowledge: no attempted future extortion for more money. Had I known about Lowrance/Garmin's pricing policy before my purchase, I would have bought a different unit.

I did run into a problem when I tried to register the unit with my mobile app. The head unit repeatedly said that the authentication code was wrong. After several restarts I finally decided to put the code in manually instead of scanning which produced a different code which the head unit accepted. My next issue happened in the app while registering the unit because the Hook REVEAL was not an option which made me select a generic chart option for download. The unit was very easy to install using the instruction. A direct line from the unit to the battery was installed also adding an inline fuse.After installation, we power it up and got a very lowclear screen. A great unit for the money.
