Pure Tomato Sauce. This is an excellent product and I can't find anything negative to comment about. It is made in Italy and I am assuming that it is made from tomatoes that are grown there. Italy is well known for it's ideallic conditions for tomato growing to produce the best. The sauce is rich a flavoursome. There is no added salt and it is very low in sodium which is ideal for us and we can add more to our dish if we need to. It has a 4. 5 star rating and the only thing added is citric acid so it's strange as to why it hasn't got 5 stars. The tomato's are organic as well which you couldn't get any better other than growing your own. The price is fantastic for an organic product, only $2. 15. This 700gm jar equates to nearly to cans. I would happily buy this again.

Passata please! I have never used and therefore bought Passata before, so this was a new experience. There are no suggestions on the bottle, so I had to google to find out what exactly to do with it and so the 2 most common ways were as a pizza base and to make up as a bolognaise sauce. Upon opening the bottle, it has a lovely smell and the taste was as it should be, tomatoey. I thought it was a little thin for the pizza base as I normally use tomato paste which is quite robust, but after cooking and tasting, it almost did the same job as paste, good tomato flavour but just did not have the bulk to go with it. I also tried it in bolognaise sauce where it had good flavour and consistency and complimented the other ingredients. It cooked up well and provided the right ... MorePassata please! I assume that because it is made in Italy is is the made the authentic way and tastes the way it should. I do like that 99% of the ingredients are made from tomatoes (organic ones). I do recommend this product even though it probably is not something that I would buy again, only because I really don't see a use for it in my household.

Bland and tasteless unfortunately :(. We made a mince, homegrown veg and pasta dish with this and added the bottle of passata to it. I have to say other than colouring the pasta and meat there was no discernible taste of tomatoes in it at all. If I were to say anything I think the tomatoes in the passata were old and very pasty which is why they had no taste at all. We grow our own tomatoes which have a far better and stronger taste than the ones in this bottle. A 4. 5 star health rating, made from 99% organic tomatoes with no taste, certified organic, made in Italy, has 7 serves of veg in the bottle, and the glass bottle and lid are recyclable. If I were to offer a suggestion I would say take this product back to the drawing board or put tomatoes in it that have ... MoreBland and tasteless unfortunately :(. Rich, Clean and Fresh Passata. A very rich, clean and fresh tasting tomato passata sauce. 4. 5 star rating. Made in Italy. Very handy and versatile to have in the pantry. I like the glass with metal lid packaging as I can easily recycle it. Is certified organic for people who have that requirement when purchasing. As I don't subscribe to buying everything organic, I wouldn't replace my normal passata sauce but would buy it if other brands weren't available. Would prefer Australian grown tomatoes used, hence why 4 star rating given for the review instead of 5. I used it at the base of my slow cooker to assemble my dairy free lasagna on top of, so the lasagna sheets are moist and don't stick. Rich tomato passata. I found this a delicious deep red when pouring into my frying pan. It cooked up perfectly and was quite thick. There was something more delicious about my lasagne last night. It might have been because I used Thomas Dux Cheddar as the cheese. I just love that flavour. It could have been the depth of flavour in the passata though. I already buy a passata made in Italy which is made especially for Woolworths and based on price I would stick to that bottle at $1. 50. The organic is priced at $2. 15. I would definitely buy the organic if the La Gina was not on the shelf. Organic Delicious $2. 15 Awesome Price. I first wanted to see what the Passata actually tasted like on it’s own, so I got a spoon and gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious sweet tomato taste, and delicious tomato flavour. Great value. I have tried a number of passata brands and this is the best. Slightly chunky and excellent flavour as well as good value. I made two meals from the 700ml bottle. Substituted half of the Macro passata in place of tinned tomatoes in my version of minestrone with good success and used up the other half in my favourite version of pasta with chopped capers, kalamata olives, a sachet of Leggo's pizza sauce and a half teaspoon of sugar. Stir all through a pasta bowl of al dante penne rigate drizzled with some good olive oil. Finish off with plenty of grated parmesan. Yummo! Ciao, fellow bunchies.

Great for bolognese. I made bolognese with this and used it as a sauce for my homemade pizza and both meals turned out delicious. The sauce had a nice sweet but slight tangy tomato taste to it. The consistency, not too thick and not runny. Made in Italy, which I didn’t mind at all. The product was suitably priced at $2. 15 which is great for an organic product. The lid was easy to open, which i think is great especially for people with conditions like arthritis. I know i’ve had some issues struggling to open other branded pasta sauces in the past. The product was hard to find at my Woolies. It was hidden away on the bottom shelf and looked exactly the same in terms of labels that product did not stand out. Would suggest a redesign of the label as this is a great ... MoreGreat for bolognese. I made bolognese with this and used it as a sauce for my homemade pizza and both meals turned out delicious. Perfect Passata. Made in Italy Found on the second from bottom shelf in the aisle along with the large range of other Passats. $2. 15 for this 700g jar. This is very reasonably priced for an organic product, compared with the Leggo’s organic passata at $4. 50 for same sized jar. 4. 5 HSR Contains 99% organic tomatoes with citric acid being the only other ingredient. This pureed tomato liquid is a rich red colour, smooth thick consistency and a full bodied tomato flavour. I added it to beef mince to make lasagne. With the addition of herbs and spices it was perfect for lasagna. I made a large one for our dinner and a couple of smaller ones for my daughters freezer. Lasagne enjoyed by all. Saucy sample! . This Passata was lovely. I used it on top of chicken in the oven with mozzarella cheese and it came out fantastic. I have never purchased this brand before, and it was ironic that I received this sample, as Passata was on top of my shopping list so it saved me a bit of money! I don't mind that this was not made in Australia as I find that all good Passata's usually come from Italy so I was not surprised it was sourced from there. I really enjoyed the flavour of the sauce and probably will purchase it again. I was also pleased I could recycle the packaging. It is extremely versatile and can be used for the base of a lot of dishes as it is a blank canvas and you can easily add whatever flavourings or ingredients to suit your own tastes.
