Excellent quality. I have repurchased this after trying it because it is good value and good quality. The taste is just right for those who like quinoa. My husband especially is a fan! So he tends to use it daily and enjoys the health benefits of this. I can recommend this quinoa product. This is a versatile product and can be used from adding to your porridge in the morning to making special salady side dishes with it. Great for those who value a healthy lifestyle and healthy foods to go with it.

The bag was easy to open and reseal, once opened it needs to be stored in an airtight container. The bag however when empty needs to be disposed of in the rubbish. Now back to my recipe, I found a lovely salad to add the quinoa too. I followed the first instruction and rinsed before using. Step 3. Bring to the boil, stir once and then reduce the heat to a simmer - FAIL, Do you think I could only stir once. No I stirred quite a few times. Step 4. Cover and leave to cook for 15 minutes, do not remove the lid - FAIL, I just had to remove the lid, to check and stir Step 5. Remove from the heat and allow to sit, covered for a further 10 minutes - FAIL, I forgot this step and tipped it into a bowl to cool for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes I fluffed with a fork, just like step 6 said to do. My quinoa was gluggy and didn't look right and it was clumped together. After rereading the instructions I ditched it and made another batch which was much better. I was going to use it the following night on my salad but then we had doggy dramas so I ended up freezing it. Google told me it freezes well and can be frozen for 3-4 months. I have given 5 stars because I let the product down. Thank you WW for the sample and I will try the others in the future.

Not just for salads or porridge. Prior to obtaining my quinoa sample I had never prepared quinoa or knowingly eaten it so a search on the internet was required. I decided on some quinoa 'dessert bites' which essentially consisted of quinoa (of course), oats, flaked coconut, fruit, eggs & cinnamon & a wee bit of sugar, mixed & baked in a mini muffin pan. I did omit the dipping in chocolate part though. The result was not bad & a lot healthier than the usual cakes & biscuits so I later did another batch using different fruits from the original lot and again not bad. Healthy alternative. We gave this sample to a friend who gave the following feedback. Red Quinoa adds a pop of red colour to any dish. I added it to my casserole instead of rice for extra protein and fibre. The texture is slightly crunchy with a nutty flavour which we enjoyed. If you suffer with celiac or you're gluten sensitive quinoa is the perfect choice. A product I will use again. Appreciated the opportunity to try the quinoa. Thanks Woolworths.

Umm.... kind of but not Easily located in the macro organics aisle it looks like uncooked cous cous. The bag and labeling is like all other macro organic branded products so you need to read carefully which product is which. When I read on the pack that the quinoa is cooked when the grain turns translucent and the germ of the kernel spirals out, I was instantly reminded of what quinoa actually is ‍♀️I liked that they have a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Health rating ✅Grown in Bolivia Packed in Australia ..... interesting The resealable ziplock bag is not redcycleable ❌ but user friendly and a good idea since you would rarely cook the whole bag of quinoa at once. ✅My sample sat at home for a while as I was uncertain how I was going to use it ‍♀️ So what did I do? I consulted the wonderful bunch community for some ideas. I saw some enticing recipes for muffins however they said they use quinoa flakes so I wasn’t sure if the plain quinoa could also be used. In the end I decided to use it like you would rice and we made our own version of “special fried rice”. The cooking instructions offered up either microwave and a boiling method. The faster microwave method was appealing so ahead I went. First step was to rinse the quinoa in water and drain..... umm not the easiest to do since the quinoa are so small and you have to very gently drain the water so as to not lose your quinoa down the drain Step 2 asked you to combine 1 cup of quinoa with 2 cups of water in a microwaveable dish and cover. Let’s just say that you may need to specify that you use a LARGE and DEEP dish so that your boiling water and quinoa do not overflow out of the container I had to watch my container heating up and stop the microwave each time the water boiled up and escaped out of the venting hole in the lid. Worse was to come when I all of a sudden heard a pop and the lid of my container was popped off from the force of the boiling water Leaving a lovely mess in my microwave. ☹️The instructions also suggest you allow the quinoa to stand until cool and keep covered. When it came out of the microwave, it still looked a bit watery so I wasn’t sure that it had cooked enough. But sure enough after a few minutes, the water had all been absorbed and the quinoa had fluffed up nicely Most of the kernels appeared popped with their little germ fibre spiraling out Success, I had cooked quinoa for the first time, not without a bit of a mess and learning experience along the way Next I added it to a fry pan and cooked it further with some egg and frozen veggies and seasoning. It turned out a real treat and I loved that I had made such a yummy meal On it’s own the quinoa basically has no flavour and is slightly soft and mushy granules like semolina but different I am so glad I received this sample as now I am not scared to cook quinoa in the future I liked it so much that I made it again two nights later but this time we used a bigger “microwave rice cooker container” to cook it in and we mixed in some pieces of chicken steak. So no mess the second time around and the meal was enjoyed once again. Priced at $7 for 500g, this is a little on the expensive side but I would assume that this is due to the macro organic nature of it and am hoping that you can get cheaper “regular” quinoa too Thanks again bunch for introducing me to Quinoa

Versatile. I have never made my own quinoa but only ever had the white version in salads that I have purchased before. Being something new and unfamiliar to me I watched many videos and read about tips and tricks for cooking this. After numerous times of cooking it I have become an old hand at it. I like to make a one cup batch and serve as a side to a main meal then chill the rest in the fridge for a salad the next day. Easy to cook. I also like to cook it in stock for added flavour depth. Nice pack design the instructions on the back are a bit small to read.

Good in casseroles, but an expensive swap for rice. I used this quinoa to make a broccoli quinoa casserole. The directions on the back of the packet for how to prepare the quinoa are easy to follow and result in perfectly cooked quinoa. However, in the washing process a lot of the quinoa ends up going down the drain so in future I will over measure by about a tablespoon to compensate for this loss. The casserole was really delicious and my kids all enjoyed it. I think quinoa would be great in a stuffed pepper casserole I make so I’m looking forward to trying that next. Quinoa is quite a bit more expensive than rice, which I buy in the 5kg bag when it’s half off, so $7 for this small bag of quinoa that might work out to 3 meals for my family of 7 vs $10 for the 5kg ... MoreGood in casseroles, but an expensive swap for rice. I might occasionally buy a bag of quinoa for something different, probably in autumn and winter when hearty casseroles are what everyone is craving. But I can’t see myself making this a regular in my weekly shop as the cost vs benefit isn’t really there.

Something different. We enjoyed been given the opportunity to try Macro Organic Red Quinoa 500g and loved it!Cooking:As I have never cooked Quinoa before I had to search using Google for tips. I found Quinoa to be incredibly easy and so versatile to use. While I followed the cooking instructions on the packaging I can't emphasise using chicken or vegetable stock enough. So yummy not bland at all!My Quinoa salad:half onion sliced thinly, half red pepper sliced in strips, 1 tbsp olive oil, broccoli, 4 boiled eggsoptional: 1 red chilli finely chopped, cherry tomatoes halved, half avocado cut into chunks, 200g feta cheese. Cook the Quinoa following pack instructions but use chicken stock, then set aside. Toss the onion and peppers with 1 tbsp of the oil and seasoning (to your taste) and lightly brown/soften in a frying pan. Steam broccoli, boil eggs. Mix all through quinoa, serve and enjoy. Very easy!Packaging:The instructions on the back were far too small a font size and could be increased. In fact the top half of the information on the back of the package could be moved to the front of the package. I would have also loved information like “a single serving= 1/4 cup of uncooked Quinoa” on the package. Maybe also information like you can replace the water with chicken or vegetable stock. Even a basic recipe to assist consumers like myself that are using Quinoa for the first time on the back of the package would be good. In Summary:We loved it and will be adding it as a item on our shopping list in the future.
