Macro Organic Spaghetti Pasta 500g

Great texture and good value. Strange claim. We really enjoyed the Macro Organic Spaghetti. The texture of the uncooked spaghetti was a bit more "rough" than the one I usually buy, but once cooked it was absolutely perfect. I liked that the spaghetti stayed slightly more firm than normal spaghetti and didn't stick together at all. At $1. 65 for 100 grams I think this is quite good value as it's organic, however, it is still more than double the price of the Essentials pasta (which is $0. 80). I was a bit confused by the claim on the packaging: "Fibre for a happy gut. Protein for power to the muscles". Considering this is a normal white pasta I don't think the fibre (3 grams per 100gr) or protein (11 grams per 100 gram) are making this product stand out... Great Texture and Taste. We had this for lunch today with a beef ragu sauce topping. Delicious. The packet was easy to find in the pasta aisle and while a little dearer than regular Woolies spaghetti not significantly dearer for an organic product and in fact cheaper than similar brand name products. The bag is fully recyclable with return to store plastics. It is made from organic durum wheat semolina and nothing else so full of fibre and protein and no nasties or unnecessary ingredients. It cooked quickly and easily as per the instructions with no clumping or strands sticking together like some of the other brands I've previously purchased. The pack is attractive and stands out with the word organic being very prominent. There was plenty of stock on the shelves and it was reasonably priced. I cooked the exactly as the packet mentioned but left them in a few more minutes as they didn't quite taste done. The strands were a good thickness for spaghetti and the colour was good. I mixed this spaghetti with some of my homemade sauce and made the best meatballs Ive made for quite some time which is awesome!Tasting this pasta it was pretty darn good for a dried pasta. Easy to locate in store with the other pastas even if it is on the top shelf and your typical spaghetti packaging that you open with scissors. Clear packaging to you can actually see the thickness and colour or the s'getti. Good looking organic pasta Made in Italy, well they are the experts. Cooked it up and tasted just delicious on it's own. It is not hollow so it's much easier to suck up into your mouth. It has a lovely texture firm but not hard and you can taste the gorgeous durum wheat. I'm very keen to try the wholemeal version of this also, very affordable for organic foods. Excellent organic pasta. My first impression when buying this spaghetti was wow only $1. 65, that’s cheap. I thought organic pasta would be more expensive. Ingredients: just one …. 100% organic durum wheat semolina✅ I initially cooked the pasta for the recommended 9 minutes but ended up cooking it a bit longer. I served the spaghetti with some chilli con carne topped with grated Parmesan cheese. The pasta was plump and a pleasant texture. It was enjoyable to eat and I couldn’t fault it. It does come from Italy. After previously sampling some wholemeal pasta Hubby and I both enjoyed it more than conventional pasta so I am very keen to try the wholemeal version of this product. Great pasta. When I went into Woolworths a couple of days ago I first when down the Macro aisle could not find this pasta. Went up the pasta aisle & there it was up on the top shelf. Lucky I had hubby with me as I couldn’t reach this pasta. Cost was $1. 65. Hubby when off to work for the week today. As eating by myself & thought I would give the pasta a try. Followed instructions boil water first to boiling point. Put some EVO in it says but I didn’t as I find when have a sauce it’s unnecessary. Placed in a handful of pasta kept stirring until it was fully into the water, kept stirring occasionally making sure it didn’t stick together. Had diced up white onion, baby capsicums, cook in so olive oil, the put diced garlic, grated lemon peel, baby tiny tomatoes & ... MoreGreat pasta. Tried pasta after 8 minutes per instructions but wasn’t cooked. So waited for 2 more minutes. Put spaghetti with a little pasta water. Then added soy sauce, mirin & sake. Placed in a bowl, sprinkle chopped parsley, pepper & a bit of EVO & a dob of Greek Yoghurt. Hubby rang when he reached work & ask me what I had for dinner. Now he has put a order in when he gets back next week. Sometimes eating pasta I have a bloating feeling afterwards. This spaghetti I feel great. I think I will be switching to this even though it is made & come from France. Next time I shall serve with salmon. Thanks Bunch for this sample. Would be buying again.

Good value. Pasta is a weekly meal so to get spaghetti was a nice try. I typically buy fettuccine or small spirals. At first glance I thought I was picking up a thin, Angel Hair pasta or just a thin spaghetti because the tubes looked so thin. When cooking them I assumed they would not grow so much but yeh... I was wrong. They grew maybe four times in thickness. For me, the thickness of a pasta can determine how think your sauce needs to be. A good thick spaghetti really benefits from a good chunky tomato bologonaise or similar. For our family our weekly pasta is always creamy chicken, a thick pasta can be too much for such a sauce. As with all of my reviews I pick on the packaging. It would be good if this range was changed to a box. Disappointed to see that the ... MoreGood value. The pasta has a matte appearance on the outside, which gives it a great texture when cooked allowing the sauce stick to it well! This is much better than other pasta brands which look shiny and don’t have the same texture. I’ve only seen the spaghetti and penne pasta in this brand, so it would be great to see their range expand to include some other shapes. PACKAGING: Standard Macro packaging. Tastes the same as the Essentials range yet more pricey. I was most excited to receive this more fancy expensive range of pasta with the Macro brand to compare it against what I normally purchase with the cheap 80 cent Essentials range. It has more fancy packaging & I really love the purple colours. However with the price of $1-85 for the 500 gram packet which I normally buy for 80 cents, the chances of me switching to this are rather slim given cost of living increases. In saying this I must admit the pasta cooks lovely in the microwave & tastes nice. I also noticed that it was actually rougher on the outside when running my hands over it so I think this would be a good factor with sauce sticking to it. I used a combination of the 2 to cook up some cheeky Cheeseburger Pasta which turned out lovely indeed. And we couldn't tell the difference between the Macro or Essentials pasta once cooked & coated so while I appreciated the chance to be more fancy I shall stick to my cheap Essentials range
