Ran well for couple years doing light duty 3-8mm holes. Then tried drilling into earthen clay pipes. Unit smelt like burnt plastic and is now stuck in hammer mode, even after strip down. Carbon brushes still intact , so I think motor has burnt out. Okay for lighter work, don't do heavy duty. Makita make the $500 cast alloy option for that

Bought this to drill lots of holes in steel posts. Ample power, variable trigger is very responsive. Plenty of drilling speed. Easy to use features.
Did a heavy duty job well, the other drill I tried set on fire!
Bought this yesterday when my old drill died after 26 years of faithfull service. New drill feels quality all over again. Sometimes new versions of old equipment have that cheap, made somewhere dodgy, feel factor. This doesn't. Even the motor produces a smells of solidness and truel quality. True story.
I bought this hammer drill for my DIY Carport for drilling concrete 27/02/22. Used it for the second time now to 10mm base plate. And the motor smoked from making bigger hole from 12mm to 13mm. The plate is already pre drilled from my work. In addition, Some Kalgoorlie Customer service staff is really rude when taking broken tools back to them as if I wanted it to be broken. I checked and compare all reviews before buying. They said this tool is for light and DIY job only which the description says otherwise
I've gone through three of these as they are easy to buy being stocked in all Bunning stores.The motor is very strong, variable speed is easy to control, but the chucks don't last long. Chucks last about 3 years in my use.The chuck key teeth do not fit the chuck teeth well, causing teeth wear, also the chuck grippers wear out and then won't grip drills.It took 40 years for my old Black & Decker to fail - the motor burned out but the chuck is still good.
