Makita 18Vx2 190mm Brushless Slide Compound Mitre Saw (Tool Only) DLS714Z
By utilising two 18V Li-ion batteries in series to supply power to the 36V DC brushless motor, the Makita DLS714 performs as well as any comparable mains powered mitre saw. The 190mm diameter blade and twin bar sliding mechanism allow accurate cuts up to 300mm wide in a single pass and 52mm deep. The saw is capable of mitres up to 57°, 45° bevels and compound cuts. Grooving or trenching is possible using the depth limiter control. The saw features soft start and an electric brake, whilst the automatic speed control maintains efficiency under load. An LED indicator displays the state of each battery. The DLS714 has a battery protection circuit, designed to protect the battery from damage due to over discharge, high temperature or overload current.

Great wee saw and easy to use. Just think the price is heavy and by the time you add 2 batteries you’re making it a luxury item.

This saw is praised by many reviewers online. I have the corded version that this saw is based on, the excellent LS0714, and I was interested in how its cordless counterpart would perform. It seems ridiculous to suggest that a cordless saw can outperform it's corded equivalent but that's the conclusion I've come to. It powers through tough hardwood planks effortlessly without any slow down of the motor. The electric brake that instantly stops the blade when you release the trigger is superb, a great safety feature that I'd love to see on other machines. It's compact and light for easy transportation and if you've got two 5ah batteries you'll get through hours of cuts before they need recharged. Just like the LS0714 it cuts accurately and the stock 24 tooth blade ... MoreThis saw is praised by many reviewers online. So light and easy to carry. Quiet, smooth, and accurate. I have a bigger Makita saw which is now retired as this new one is an absolute gem for site work. Batteries last a long time as well. My best buy by far tbh.

Took quite a while to decide to buy this saw due to the reviews about the stiffness of the slides. Now that I have owned it for a week I find that the slides get better and smoother with use. The saw itself is so useful for oak architraves and stair spindle mitres. I have already have a 305mm Makita mitre saw which is excellent for larger work but is rather heavy so this cordless one fills the void. The triggers take a little getting used to but like with everything, you get used to it. The 5AH batteries I use seem to last forever so I am assuming that that saw motor is very efficient. All in all it is more expensive than other cordless saws on the market but you do get what you pay for.
Freedom of cordless. Great makita workmanship as usual cuts a 2x12 beam no problem at all. Great for when you need to do loads of repetitive cuts very accurate and great on batteries.
I been through a few mitre saws and this is by far the best saw I have used worth every penny and very accurate. I have been using it all day from one charge so battery life is not a issue
If it would brushes then was fantastic product.
Everything was fine if it received without edge damage. There is no packing damage that means the seller shipped damaged item or he didn't inspect it before dispatch.
I bought this for my DIY wood projects. Does the job perfectly and with good finish. I even tested on metal and I was happy with the performance
so easy to use and handle and lightweight to carry. copes with all the jobs easily and power is great, runs all day on 1 charge from 2 5amp batteries. brilliant.
