Before you buy, watch some YouTubes about counterfeit batteries. I wish I had. My genuine Makita batteries last about 20-25 minutes in my Makita leaf blower. These last about 4-5 minutes. At first, I thought they were defective but after educating myself via YouTube, I now realize these have every indication mentioned regarding counterfeits. Apparently, this issue is rampant, but I would have hoped Walmart had some kind of quality control process in place regarding third party vendors. If the price seems too good to be true, there's probably a reason.

These are counterfeit batteries. Very good fakes, but still fake with no warranty, don't perform as advertised, and flat out lies in their marketing. THIS IS NOT A REAL MAKITA BATTERY. This is a cheap knock off, hence the price. These batteries do not have the overload or short circuit protection that real makita batteries do. They do not perform as well. I will be returning ASAP.

Ordered 6 Makita batteries, 3-2 packs. Thired party seller. Received 3 Vanon replacement batteries. They offered refund for 3. Return is proving impossible, because product received is not what was ordered. Seller wants to sell me the inferior batteries. Walmart not helping so far. Seller may be doing 'bait and switch' or just plain fraud.

I received fake batteries. The batteries came in boxes instead of plastic.Battery details on top are printed instead of etched in.Looking through the ribs on top it looks very different compared to genuine batteries. The yellow plug is shaped different from genuine batteries as well. When I asked the seller (Dewalt Authentic Battery Inc / DongGuanHaoruiQichePeiJianMaoyiYouxianGongsi) about the fake batteries the only reply I got was that he would refund my money.
Items are FAKE. FAKE LIKE FOX. NEWS. NOT AUTHENTIC MAKITA. Aside from that , they will take a charge from the real Makita chargers and will power real Makita tools. Battery life is far less than that of authentic batteries. They die suddenly just under half battery life. They are NOT allowed on airlines. I have not opened them to see what cells are being used, but batteries do not last very long.
These batteries are advertised as 6 Mah. I purchased them because the main photo was of a battery with 4 LED charge indicators. Instead, I received batteries with 3 LED charge indicators. I did not want them because the ones I have had are of poor quality and don't hold a charge very well. The genuine 6 Mah batteries I have last about 12-15 minutes in my blower on high speed. These last about 5 minutes. I advise that anyone who wants good batteries shop for those with 4 LED indicators and ask about the batteries you will receive before purchasing. I no longer buy batteries here because there are to many sellers of low-quality products..
These batteries charge quickly and work well in my Makita cordless tolls. They provide enough power. I have not had them long enough to know how well they hold a charge or if they are long-lasting However the price is good and I needed extra batteries for my mini-chain saw and skill saw, so we will see.
Replacing my 12v drill with 18v and 40v items. More power, longer batt life. The 40v driver drill is a beast. Makita's decision to put the fwd/reverse switch where it is was not optimum, your thumb/forefinger keeps changing its position. Also got the tire inflator, reciprocating saw, 18v driver drill.
These things could be anything, it would be impossible for the average person to know what is contained within these sliding plastic constructs that fit a Makita charger. One way to know what you have would be so see how long they last. I already killed one of mine through no fault of the product by trying a trick shown on the internet of hot wiring one battery to another to see if you can reactivate an old battery. That sent one of my two batteries into the trash can. These batteries are a fraction of the cost to the Makita originals, and we all would hope they give us good value, but we don't know.
I have 3 Makita-knockoff batteries branded "VANON": two 6AH and one 9AH. All 3 batteries work fine. The 6AH's don't charge fully on my *old* teal-colored Makita DC18RA charger. I have to charge them on my *new*, black Makita DC18RC charger, and then they seem to charge just as expected. (This could be why some have said they don't have much capacity - maybe they are trying to charge them on an old teal charger. I don't know. Works great for me.) Other than that, after a few weeks in my construction business, the 6AH's are doing pretty fine. Haven't had to charge them near as much as I thought. The little charge-indicator button works as expected. Use the battery on a drill for a couple days, and it goes down to 2 lights. Charge it, goes up to 3 lights. Also the stickers on the sides dont last that long. They get biffed during normal construction use. But I dont really care about that. **** About the 9AH: This one is physically bigger than the 6AH - it has another row of cells inside it. The 9AH is used to run LED lighting in our off-grid dairy milking parlor. It gets discharged to about 50%, and then recharged 100%, about twice a day. Still works fine after several months. Also, this one charges as expected on either charger (teal or black). This one doesn't have a chargelevel gauge. All in all, I'm satisfied. I'd buy more.
