I bought this drill from uk planet tools Ltd. There service was superb! I initially had a fault with the battery which they sorted out immediately. The drill is just what I wanted. Easy to use and powerful and it feels so solid. Makita seem to make there tools that are very well build and easy to operate.

The best drill, very powerful and well built. Has got a light and battery gauge. A bit heavy but it needs to be to well built to handle its power. Recommend using the side handle to reduce risk ofinjury to wrist when drilling larger holes

This is a Machine of a drill! Enormously refined and powerful so concentrate while using it or it may bite you with its enormous torque. It is easily as powerful as my corded drill that is multiple times the size of this. You can feel in your hand this is built to last indeed! Who needs a corded drill when you can have one of these! Top notch Makita, well done!

I needed another cordless drill , so this one though slightly heavier than my last is a great buy. Being brushless it has a longer work time on the same battery. The led lights are on the side which put light on your work when using as the centre light on my old drill was covered by my trigger finger. So overall it is a great tool for the price. Cheers Peter.
This is a heavy duty brushless drill with great torque. The addition of a demountable handle was an unexpected bonus. To buy one separately costs about $50. The unit is s bit heavier than the older brush motor Makita 18 volt drills
This is a replacement for same drill that I have given a lot of hammer for a couple of years . So hopefully this will be as good . As a professional multi trade l have to have tools that work always been happy with Makita. These are cracking drills.
I visited my local tool store and enquired why they were so light on Makita cordless tools despite being a Makita stockist. The owner informed me that there was no point stocking Makita cordless as you can purchase it significantly cheaper on the internet and advised me to check. I went to my local screwfix and considered this drill (bare) at 200. I then found this exact same drill online for 150 and made a 25% saving!
When I bought it it was Makitas strongest drill for a good price. One year later: To be honest... I almost never use the handle and it is a pain to store it. The handle is much bigger that makita other models. The only time you would need the extra torque and the handle to protect from it is if you don't have a hammer drill or impact driver and want to do some really serious drilling. It is a bit heavy so not something you would use for putting in normal screws. I use a much nimbler Festool for my everyday screwing needs instead. If you do a lot of drilling with gig bits then it is a good choice. If you drill holes in concrete --> u still need a hammar drill If you are doing mostly screwing --> buy a impact driver (big screws) and/or smaller drill (small screws) I ... MoreWhen I bought it it was Makitas strongest drill for a good price. The best drill I've ever owned. Serious power and torque does the job effortlessly. Very well priced without having to go to more expensive professional tools although this is a far stronger product than the average handyman requires.
I bought this item to replace a DIY version of Makita Drill; the previous one burnt out drilling a 13 mm hole in a tree stump. This drill is an whole magnitude better, build quality, ruggedness and quality chuck. Designed for professional use, its brushless motor makes short work of demanding tasks. Definitely worth spending the extra money.
