Really enjoy using this drill driver. It's small and more convenient much like an impact driver would be, of course it doesn't pack the same power an impact does but this has its advantages in that if you are drive anything less than 2 inches into normal or medium density wood, this has more than enough power. if you're driving a small finish screws into carpentry, the sensitive torque settings on the drill driver really come into their own. I've got a couple of brushless impact drivers, a red onne and a green one and they both do fine for decking and other large structural based fixings, but for cabinetry and finish carpentry this thing is a beast. The brushless motor on a 3 amp battery will last you almost all day unless you are driving massive screws or drills

This is my second purchase of this model because it is so handy and, yet, so capable. Sadly I cannot get hold of a small (half the size and weight of my other Makita batteries) 1.5 amp battery to make it really light and easy to use. I'm not bothered about how many amps it is, just the weight and physical size. Come on Makita! I'm sure I'm not the only one who values a light and handy drill capability, light and handy battery, please.

This must be my 60th piece of MAKITA LXT kit, all the units I have ever bought are still going. I bought two of these a week apart because they are so good. They pile in 6 inch screws without a pilot hole and don't annoy the neighbors like the impact drivers do. highly recommended, get two for yourself!!
Bought 2 to use to put my portable dance floors down. Used this weekend very good but get warm so will have to buy another 2 . All in all very good and lightweigh which is vgood
Brilliant piece of kit. So much easier than using a cordless drill. Usual Makita high quality. Very lightweight. Plenty of graduations for different torque. Already used with hundreds of pocket hole screws.
I would recommend this versatile little unit... Its very small and light... kind of sub compact size minus the chuck. Its about 100mm long ( minus 1/4 Chuck) (125mm with) and motor body a little over 45mm wide.... real compact. Superb job light too. This is an excellent tool for precision screw driving drilling... cabinet work and such..... great for confined spaces and light on the arm too!
Bought this as I do a lot of work on camper vans and my trusted ddf485 was sometimes a little too big. I had looked at the ddf483 as it was slightly smaller than the 485 but only slightly. Then a found this chuckless 483, the ddf083! Plenty of power and uses the 18v lxt battery platform I use. Value marked down a little as the dhp483 with more features can be had for less

This is my 2nd purchase of this drill. One for drilling the other for screws, saves having to change bit. Easy to fit in tight spaces as very small and lightweight. Recommend 100%
