Light weight, powerful motor and long lasting batteries. Does well on cuts of up to around 2.5 inches but I wouldn’t recommend it for heavier cuts or low cuts on seriously uneven ground. The batteries were on 2 bars after cutting around 300m^2. In my opinion, the included charger is adequate but not as fast as the other versions of the Makita twin charger, although this will probably be better for the batteries in the long term.

Was considering a battery lawnmower & looked at several, then found this one & decided to go for it. The main reason being a brand I could trust & all the batteries were interchangeable with my current power tools. The dual charger & 5Ah batteries are great, i managed to cut my medium sized lawn & still had 50% charge remaining. Nice cut & easy to operate with a good sized grass box.Would highly recommend, I wasn’t expecting it to work this well & glad I went battery as opposed to petrol or electric.

I can't believe Makita allowed their name to go on this flimsy piece of junk.It cuts nicely and would be great for a small lawn if the wheels didn't fall off.only on it's 3rd use and the tiny bit of tack weld holding the front Rh wheel arm to the little 5 or 6mm axle let go and arm and wheel no longer on mower, also Lh wheel assembly already starting to sag as well.Makita policy is it has to be sent back for them to look at it so dont plan on your lawn looking good while that happens

Great mower and perfect for my lawns, which have curved borders and obstacles. Light and easy to manoeuvre. Good cut. Easy to adjust the cutting height. Very quiet. Quoted battery life seems accurate
I am very pleased with the lawnmower which is a delight to use as it is light in weight and therefore easy to manoeuvre around the obstacles in my lawn. Based on use so far I reckon I may get 3 cuts between recharges providing I don’t let the grass grow too long in between. How the mower will cope with the longer grass, say after a prolonged period of wet weather, remains to be seen but I still have my petrol mower if necessary. The great thing about a battery powered mower is the convenience which means, providing the conditions are dry, I can trim the grass more frequently which is also better for the grass. Makita’s current offer of an additional set of batteries assures me that I will get a reasonable life from this mower.
It's advertised as good for up to 650m Square garden. Mine is less than half that and there is no chance of getting round on a single charge unless it's bone dry and you're giving the garden a very light trim. On a damp lawn, with grass that was not exactly long I was getting as little as 10 mins useful battery time.It doesn't feel super powerful at the best of times. Best used frequently (weekly at least) in v. dry conditions and it just about does the job. But feel as though it's capabilities are exaggerated somewhat.
First time using a battery mower having had a steel deck self propelled petrol before. Only used a couple of times so far on my 150 or so square metres. Light and manoeuvrable, bordering on flimsy, being made almost entirely of plastic. Much quieter than the petrol and no messing about trying to get it to start. Handle folds down and the mower can be stored stood on its end to save space. Has handles to be able to carry it when folded, though I wouldn't want to lug it far. I think Makita missed a trick by not making the folded mower pull-along-able on two wheels (like a wheeled suitcase). Battery pair stand up well, dropping to about 50% after a leisurely mowing of front and back. Pickup is excellent, though so far I've only used it on relatively short dry grass. ... MoreFirst time using a battery mower having had a steel deck self propelled petrol before. Time will tell how it performs when it's 6 inches long and wet. The charger gets warmer than I'd like when re-charging both batteries at once -mine's the slightly less expensive slow charger.
Build quality is very good as you would expect from Makita. Previously owned a mains powered mower, but now having used this cordless one, I would never go back. I thought that there may have been a lack of power, there being only a couple of batteries, however I was completely wrong! Batteries last for a fair amount of time (mowed average size front/back garden at least 3 times) and batteries still at half charge!
This is a proper lawnmower. Having seen and used other cordless mowers (e.g. G-Tech, Bosch) they are basically toys compared with the Makita. Very flimsy build, not much cheaper and inferior performance in terms of grass cutting, collection and battery life.Neither the Bosch nor the G-Tech could complete my lawns (back front and a side section) on a single charge, whereas the Makita had about a third of the charge left after doing all 3.The grass collection box is a good size and easy to remove / re-attach. There are only 2 small points that could be improved: while the cutting blade is excellent, the ability to lift cuttings could be better, and the handles fold down, but other products have quick-release bolts which are much easier to use.Overall, an ... MoreThis is a proper lawnmower. I purchased this mower kit online 21/11/2022, received it 30/11/2022 and used it next day. Worked really well over the next two months. Plenty of power, battery life does all the lawn. Then….. the wheel broke off. So. Watch out. The mower motor and blades etc are well done. The front wheel support strut is poorly designed and manufactured. A small 70mm strut pressed onto a rod and then a very small tag weld. No way will that last. The front wheels need more structural strength than Makita have created and assembled in Romania. So the 5 year warranty means it has to go away to a mower repairer while I wait and wait and the summer grass grows. I learned that if I had purchased a Ryobi it would have been a new replacement, not a wait for a repair. No more Makita garden ... MoreI purchased this mower kit online 21/11/2022, received it 30/11/2022 and used it next day. Worked really well over the next two months.
