Great amp, but has specific characteristics, compared to some vintage amps I have, the sound is generally thicker and has more overdrive, especially the ability to push the pre amp but with not quite the high end of the less gain Marshalls. Overall I love playing it for the heavier/ hard rock stuff.

Received it with the front panel slightly displaced and back panel slightly bent. After a few adjustments everything went back into place and wow... this thing is killer. I always admired the original SJ's and had been using another amp as my primary. But the opportunity came up to get one of these and this is just an incredile amp. Plugged into a 1960AV cabinet with the Vintage 30's true Marshall growl. The Clean channel is beautifully sharp and then the lead... everything I wanted. Works well with pedal to, but I stick to the Clean channel for that. The dirty Channel has no need for pedals as this amp's Drive is perfect for my uses. Truly amazed with this purchase. Thanks for the great service!

I purchased the reissue of the Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555x, and I could not be happier! I was convinced this was the amp for me after test driving it a few months back, and now that I own one I'm only more convinced this is the perfect Marshall amp for me!
Great amplifier. NOT a low volume piece. The louder it gets the better it sounds, just like any good tube amp. Plenty of gain. Can do fair cleans with the pull boost on the rhythym clip disengaged. Sounds better dirty/dirtier though. The effects loop on these is extremely usable, it is set for -10db's which makes it ideal for pedal type effects without ovedriving and clipping their input stage. Slash/Bonamassa love em', with good reason. Straight up great tones and volume. ROCKS!!
Awesome amplifier! It is as good as they say!Pure and raw rock“n“roll power with a great tone stack to tweak your sound. I bought this one because non of my Marshalls had a FX Loop. As I got addicted to a good reverb sound, i needed something with a loop. At the moment I use a cheap TC Electronic Skysurfer, which works flawless in the loop. I might get a Strymon Flint or I will try the reverb of my El Capistan. There will be many possibility with the loop!Back to the amp. Some said it“s a one trick pony. But I have to confess, it is more than that. I get the best rock“n“roll sound it the lead channel, with the input gain rather low, without rhythm clip, output master around 8 and the lead master as master volume control. But even with the input gain high + rhythm clip, I could got a very nice tone. In this "mode" it“s possible to run the rhythm channel as main channel and the lead channel as solo boost with more gain and volume! As said before, the tone stack is great! Bass and Middle controls are very effective! With more Bass and less Middle you get some awesome metal tones. With the middle control around 7 you are back on the rock“n“roll track!I also like the sound of the rhythm channel with rhythm clip and the input gain low. That leads to a nice "egde of breakup" tone... so back to the first sentence: Awesome amplifier!
The greatest Marshall in my opinion! I bought it with the matching 2555BV 4x12 cab and it certainly grabs the attention of everyone listening. By one and see for yourself! #andertonsmadedoit
