Right out of the box, this was what I'd expect from a Marshall product. It has plenty of volume, the controls are easy, and the amp is very flexible. It is perfect for a practice amp at home. You need the optional foot pedal for the tuner, but other than that, I put it on an amp stand to put it at a better height, and I'm very happy with it.

It's a Marshall! Bought for my teenage son who is just starting to play. Has 4 channels from clean to heavy distortion/overdrive. Chorus, reverb, and flanged are an added benefit.Amp sounds great and is all a noob needs to for multiple genres of music.Note that access to the tuner feature requires the external, and NOT included, pedal. I believe the pedal is less than $100 but I didn't feel the need to purchase.

I bought this little amp because a friend got a good deal on a beginner guitar rig and he wants me to teach him guitar. I needed something portable and didn't want to have to drag a lot of effects pedals to his house to practice, so I got this. I had a MG15 that I had bought years ago and I liked it a lot because it was portable but it didn't have effects. My son took that one when he was learning to play and he still uses it. Tough little amp.So I got this amp and I'm glad that I did. Big things can come in small packages.

This was my first guitar amp purchase. I am new to guitar and wanted something affordable while sounding heavy. This is amp has great gain and was easy to use as someone new to electric guitar. I'd recommend this amp to any new guitar player and it was a great price.
I really like this amp. I don't have to turn up the master volume very much for it to get loud enough. I plan to hook up a Line 6 Pocket Pod for heavier distortion and more effects options. I'm a big fan of delay and am happy with the delay that comes with this amp but I did get a Boss DD-8 digital delay pedal and it works well with this amp. I previously had a cheap 100 watt amp but it only sounded well at low volume. I feel this Marshall amp is better quality and I am glad I got this one.
Was expecting more. Even though it was only 15 watts, i thought it would get louder. I play in a rock band, but we're not extremely loud, plus i use a mic on the amp in front of the speaker, so it comes through the PA's main speakers, so I don't have to turn it up real loud. The Clear channel is fine. The crunch button is terrible. I don't like the sound. The echo is a slap back sound not echo, sounds terrible. Flange and chorus settings are weak too. Was basically trying it out. I will go Fender or Vox next time. I have been playing for 40 years. I needed a lighter AMP to lug to gigs.
The MG15GFX has a lot of features, unfortunately they all sound terrible. The clean and crunch channels are of middling quality, but the two overdrive channels are awful. They produce an obscene amount of feedback, have extremely dirty digital tone, and still fail to produce sufficient gain for metal. Effects are also bad. Reverb, Flange, Phaser, virtually all of them are of exceedingly low sound quality. Amp I got has constant reverb that cant be turned off. Not sure if its just bugged or if its some sort of strange feedback, but on clean channel there is always a slight echo even when making sure effects/reverb are off.If you play classic rock or acoustic electric stuff, this amp is an option for entry-level beginners. If you need it for anything that has a moderate amount of distortion avoid like the plague. The MG tries to do everything, and as a result it fails to do ANYTHING decently. Although compared to the alternative solid state amps of same price, its one of the less terrible ones.
What can I say - I actually have the MG15GFX which is a terrific sounding amp. Guitar center tries to pass the MG15FX off as a replacement which isn't even close. This sounds slightly better than the cheap portable belt amps kids use. Im planning to return this as Im very disappointed. As others point out there is a ridiculous amount of feedback on any overdrive setting, the quality sounds terrible, and the effect controls are terrible. Everytiem I switch to clean I have a ton of chorus despite effects being off. Very disappointed in this model - I would avoid it no matter who you are. Get your kid something cheaper and better.
I have a Marshall 412 cabinet with a 100 watt Marshall head. I needed a smaller amp to practice at home and for small jam sessions. I picked the Marshall MG15FX because I know and like the Marshall sound and quality. The Effects features sound good too. I bought the footswitch for it too. This amp sounds good and powerful enough for any small jam or studio work. Marshall makes a MG30 if you need more power.
i use this fun little amp at home to practice and jam. sometimes with friends. i've have owned fender and peavy practice amps and this Marshall is just as good or better. i like the clean and various overdrives..the effects do a good enough job and really like the two different reverb effects. i like the headphone option for keeping the neighbors and girlfriend happy when playing late night. i play a Epiphone Les paul traditional pro iv and the combonation sounds super for hard rock and blues but i needed to get a heavy metal pedal for metallica songs. wish it had a longer plug in cable. but over all it sounds really good for what i payed.. ;owned it for two years and keeps on rocking
