Martin 000-15M Streetmaster Acoustic Guitar

In my 45 years of playing, and after owning several Martin guitars, this is THE first new acoustic guitar in which I didn't worry about getting the odd ding, scratch or nick! Make no mistake, however, because this is a quality Nazareth-made Martin through in through; in fact, considering the thought and execution of getting the distressed look just right, the attention to detail goes beyond other Martin guitar models that are comparably priced. But what I really love about this particular Martin is that it oozes a street-worn funk that would take years and years to achieve with a new guitar. Oh, and the sound and play-ability? I was very torn between this and the standard 000-15. I love everything about this guitar over the standard, the only thing that put me off was the lack of a hard case. But I decided to bite the bullet and buy the sigma 000 and Om case. So glad I did. The guitar arrived in very sturdy and safe packaging which was a relief to me ( acoustics are fragile and this is expensive).The case provided is beautiful and quite sturdy. It wont protect it from a heavy drop but will certainly protect it from bumps scratches and knocks.The guitar itself is just pure perfection. I love the the aesthetic and design. I feel like this guitar lived a life and has its soul already with the benefit of being brand new. This is my second martin after me 000-rs1 and I just love this. Martin are worth the price. If you take care of them, they take care of you.General thoughtsThe guitar is lighter than expected, but you get used to it. The neck is slightly thicker than I am used to but after a few uses i don't even notice anymore.Straight out of the box i felt a bit out of control of the tone, it felt louder and harsher, but after a few days it really settles and comes into its own. If you are thinking about this guitar, you wont be disappointed. it is truly fantastic.

I'll make this short. Another Martin has entered the home. The Streetmaster is another outside the box model from Martin.I searched and found one in stock at Sam Ash in Charlotte. Only a 1.5 hour drive up from Columbia. Kylene Edson had it ready, set-up was perfect, action and playability is definitely Martin. The color, "rustic brown" is different, but my wife wants art and guitar. She began lessons 4 weeks ago. Me, 40+ years of hearing loss. But, since I have bought my lot of 24 guitars since October '19, it is her turn for a few. (Little secret-I play so when they get broke in I will do it!)I would have liked a hard-shell case but the gig bag is substantial and well padded.
