McDavid Knee Support with Stays M

This knee brace was the first one I found that helped my skiing injured knee, and I was pleased to see that McDavid still offered it when I needed a replacement. It is a good solid product, well made and durable. IT provides good support without hinges, so it is lighter and more flexible.than some braces. This one is good for walking or hiking. I also bought the version with cross straps, and that can be made tighter and more supportive. It is easy to get this one on but more difficult to get off.

I bought this brace to help support my knee, which has some nerve damage, and help me get around better. I have trouble supporting weight and making sharp movements when I play sports. I received the brace about a couple weeks ago, and have been wearing it ever since.The first day, it was uncomfortable and odd to walk in. It took a few tries before I could position it correctly. But I figured I just had to power through and break it in.The second day, I was a little more used to wearing it and I even forgot I had it on at times.By the third day, I could slide it on and forget it was even there.It's comfortable, shaped itself to my knee, and pretty lightweight. I sweat under it on hot days but it never feels wet or uncomfortable. There's less pain and less instability when I walk. I'm more comfortable moving heavy objects and excersizing more often without a fear of hurting myself. My overall function has improved drastically. Whether it's a short walk or a workout session, I take this brace with me wherever I go.The only downside I can find about this brace is that it's a little hard to get off once I've been sweating, but for me, it's hardly an issue.The support and confidence this brace gives me for the price is phenomenal. I was a little nervous because I hadn't tried McDavid before but I'll definitely be reordering this brace once I wear my current one out.

Have worn it a few times since it arrived. Seems to support the knee pretty well, though I get a similar feeling from a well-wrapped 4" stretch bandage. For me, it seems to run large, as I bought the size recommended, but when pulling the straps to get good compression, the neoprene bunches up a bit. I would probably be happier with it if I had bought one-size down.
