A little small for my big ears and slightly heavier than I am used to. Great build quality and extremely even tonality; I hate over-blown bass. Some have criticised an over-pronounced treble, but since I am 64 years-of-age this is not something I have noticed… I, perhaps, would have preferred open-backed (sound leakage would be unacceptable) but these do not appear overly hemmed-in. Very happy and Richard is consistently efficient.

Like all Meze Products; outstanding build quality. They are quite bit smaller than the rest of their headphones and big eared folks may find them a bit uncomfortable. Really solid soundstage, great sound across all frequencies, that sweet Meze DEEEEEEP bass but tuned so that it does not overwhelm. Classic Rock, Singer-Songwriter, Jazz, Classical, EDM, Soul/R&B, Hip-Hop; this headphones plays them all and reveals new details you haven't heard before. Brought them along to Thanksgiving paired with a Chord Mojo and it was great to see the smiles spread on the listeners. You could see them hearing their favorite songs for the first time!Looking for an all-rounder closed back that your phone can drive, scales well with better sources; look no further! I own the Focal Utopia, Stellia and Radiance headphones, because they are good looking and the sound is very good. I wanted to find out if the planars headphones were as good as they say. I bought the Meze Liric's because I thought they were the best looking of all planar headphones. When they got burned in, they were excellent sounding headphones and very comfortable. A very nice addition to my collection of headphones.

Finally took the plunge on high end headphones now that I am permanently working from home. I need closed back in order to minimize bleed for my family and I need something that is portable, so these were exactly what I was looking for. I use them with an audioquest dragonfly cobalt and it gives enough juice to drive them. MQAs on tidal sound amazing. Now looking to upgrade the wires and get the couch. Extremely well-made. So impressed with Meze (not to mention Audio46’s fast shipping and great service).
The LIRIC have one of the widest sound stages, but it’s also got one of the most separated and intricate. This is one of those headphones that busts a song open and lets it fly every which way. Plain and simple, the LIRIC does imaging like no closed back before it.There’s a clear low end boost going on with the LIRIC. While this boost feels tasteful and well placed. If you’re bass averse, these could be a bit much in the lows. The mid range is a bit of an exception to this in some ways. There’s a clear boost around the 1-2kHz area, which makes for a noticeable edge and bite. The LIRIC does at times struggle to contain harshness from more resonant vocals at higher volumes. The highs have incredible precision and a natural timbre. With an innovative build and a sound.
Comfort wise these are way lighter than they look...very comfortableSound wise basically everything sounds good with these I've been using them for Gaming, Movies, Music all kind of genres and sounded amazingThey sound more like an open back they don't have that closed in bubble soundstage lilke other closed backs have. However, I find them more enjoyable with eqThey're also very good for gaming imaging and separation is on pointOverall, very happy with my purchase
I received the Liric a couple weeks ago and have been spending a lot of time listening. I've tried running them directly from a Matrix Audio Mini 3i Pro and from a GS-X Mini. They're easy to drive, so both amps do a great job.Tuning is really nice out of the box. Very pleasant without EQ, which I almost always require from most headphones. Can certainly see myself using these directly from a portable, phone-connected amp in the future too. I've applied a couple mild EQs posted online, which bring out another positive increment of detail and balance. Certainly not required, but even better IMO!They isolate quite well, I'm usually listening to open backs at home while working, but forgot how nice it is to not hear street noise and the refrigerator running. Sound stage is very respectable for closed backs. I was using the Focal Celestee occasionally prior to getting the Liric. It didn't compel me to listen when I had open backs to choose from. I'm listening to the Liric routinely now. It'll be living on my desk, not in the case like previously open backs.
Seriously impressed with the Meze liric. It easily sounds better in almost every regard than my abyss Diana v2. I don’t know what camp you are in concerning burn in, but these seriously came alive after playing some white noise through them in overnight. I really considered returning them initially because of how shrill they sounded. I’m so happy I didn’t! I know the internet seems tepid on the liric, but the thing is- the reviews you are watching are from normal humans, not super listeners with godly observational skills. You can see a huge difference between measurements by crinacle and measurements from resolve (using the same exact measurement rig), and to me that was almost the final nail in the coffin of caring about graphs concerning audio. Listen to things and make your own judgements without referencing charts and curves, you’ll live a happier more fulfilled audiophile life without constantly comparing the specs of cans. In a nutshell I’d recommend these over many things that cost much more, they’re really really great.
These have got to be the most balanced planar headphones I will ever own. Definitely an upgrade from my Monoprice M570 open back planars and my Beyerdynamic DT770 closed back dynamics. Extremely comfortable for long listening or gaming sessions, which is a nice improvement from the Monoprice M570. When it comes to sound quality, these do a great job of smoothing out the sound. It doesn't seem to matter the quality of the recording, these headphones seem to just "fix" the sound. These truly are "listening" headphones. I would not recommend these for studio recording or mastering, because they just make things sound good. These are made for listening and I love them.
This was the first planar magnetic headphone I bought with my own money, and I'm glad this is my first. It has very enjoyable dynamics with a bass punch that you can't find from planar easily. Overall sonic details are well presented with nice separation - although that's what you expect from this price range. The soundstage was great for the kind of headphone it is. Not as wide as premium openbacks, but it's no usual closed back. I want to make this clear that there was no single spot that made me question why this would cost $2,000 as new. The looks, the fit, the sound - all three lived up to my expectations. I'm very satisfied with this purchase
