Milwaukee 2445-20 M12 Jig Saw Tool Only

These pants are the best! The fabric is of high quality and it shapes me without the "bulges" of those tight fitting stretchy leggings. It is evident that a lot of thought went into the styling of these pants. I also purchased a pair of Hyba cropped pants when I saw how good these fit. I walk everyday and these are perfect for walking and stylish at the same time. Even though they fit close to the body, they are very comfortable and not binding at all! Reitmans is right on with these Hyba products! Thank you. We can't all be lululemon ladies!

Buy the newer m12 FUEL version instead

Personally, I'd recommend the M12 FUEL (brushless) version over this one for a number of reasons:The one I bought from home Depot had its metal base bent way out of shape (was possibly severely mishandled during storage). The jigsaw doesn't have the anti- vibration technology that newer jigsaws have. Was only cutting 3/8" particle board, with a 6" diablo shank, but it kept jumping and cutting off course, ruining the piece, and even cut into my bench dog table. Also, it doesn't have a dustport. I had to return it. This is the old m12 jigsaw, It sucks, and definitely recommend buying the newer M12 FUEL because the company fixed all the issues this one has.

Compact jigsaw for precise cuts. Plenty of power.

Accurate cuts, plenty of power and has a light over the cut line to see better. My Ryobi jigsaw didn't cut in a straight line. This M12 makes precise cuts. Handles 3)4 treated plywood with ease. The light over the blade is nice to see the pencil marks better. The small body makes cuts between rafters easy as well. I install cameras and alarms for banks and these compact M12 tools help me every day for different situations.

Great little jigsaw

Works great. Some people have problems with the shoe (base) coming loose, just remove the plastic shoe, 6 screws remove the outer shoe frame, loosen the torx lock down screw and use a 5/32 hex key to tighten the adjustment. It takes very little adjustment, and it's backwards, so left will make the lever tighter. When it works well for you tighten the lock screw and re assemble. I've used mine for some minor trimming and cutting a hole in a door for a pet door installation. There is a notch in the shoe to help it lock at 90° by sliding it to the back.

Great little jigsaw

I read and watched a lot of reviews on the web and YouTube and a lot of people said that it's under powered, shoe keeps coming loose or doesn't cut a straight line or cut vertically, I have not had any issues with any of these. Like any power tools, you have to let the tool do the work and not force it. In the case of any type of saw, you have to get quality blades designed for the specific job you are doing. I normally use Bosch T Shank blades in any jigsaw and always have a variety of different blade types on hand all the time. I have used this jigsaw now to install the sinks, cut moulding to go around obstacles, installed range hoods inside cabinets, cut ABS and PVC pipe and steel valence and track for bypass doors (something that I normally cut with a corded jigsaw) and have had zero issues with the performance of this compact jigsaw. Yes I am invested in the Milwaukee M12 ecosystem and have yet to find a tool that I don't like. Hopefully one day they will bring this tool out in a fuel version with the power-state brushless motor that will take full advantage of the 6 amp hour battery that I use on it. Until then, this is an awesome tool that has yet again made my work that much easier. If there is one area that I would suggest Milwaukee to improve on, it would be the dust blower as there isn't one on this tool and you have to blow the dust away manually. Would I recommend it, yes but only to people who know how to use a compact jigsaw and not push it past it's limits. I have used it on all thicknesses of materials from 1/4" to 1-1/2" with absolutely no problem. Keep up the great work Milwaukee.

I'm a professional in the trades running a custom automotive fabrication shop / and a property management business with more than 50 years experience using saws of all sorts, including both corded and battery power in wood, metal, stone, plastic and concrete. This 2445-20 jigsaw was lovely for the first 15 minutes in wood. Then the table loosened and jammed the blade ruining the cut. After three more attempts to use the saw I took it apart to "fix" the table lock lever. A couple of hours later it's poor design had frustrated all efforts to make it work properly.If I'd had half this much trouble with any other saw it would be returned. Period. Under the best of circumstances it requires two hands on the saw and clamping your work piece solidly.But I have bought several thousand dollars of Milwaukee battery tools so have committed to the brand for it's other great attributes.However this saw has become my last choice of a tool to make a cut with so after an initial couple of totally frustrating months it has mostly stayed in it's storage bag a couple of years with only occasional use.Today trying to cut some metal (using new appropriate blades) for a minor bracket project it behaved so badly I came in the office to web search for a tool repair solution. I didn't find anything that would do better than my prior efforts, so my next and last attempt to make this a safe and useful tool will be to TIG weld the table to the saw frame and make it never move again. I value my fingers and eyes too much to continue using this tool because you have to grip it close and hard in odd ways to keep the lever from moving, which still won't control the table. When the blade breaks and saw spits that hot metal fragment at your face or into your palm because you had to be that close to manage the cut path, for me it isn't worth the risk.

As other reviews have stated the base plate lock lever started to loosen giving a less than perfect cut. I knew this was an issue so I watched for it. With almost all tools out of the box and ready to use is rare. Adjustments and tightening set screws is quite common. This is the case here so keep your toes bits handy. There are 3 sizes you'll need not included with the tool. The metal base plate is held on by 4 of the tiniest screws so a cup or magnetic parts holder is in order. Under the base plate are two more screws of different toes sizes. It's as easy a setting up a miter saw or changing the blades on a planer. (Make an addendum on adjusting the tension leveled add a spare splinter guard and the toes Allen wrench to adjust lever tensioner. I'll bump ½ a star. I'll go 5 if a rip fence is included a dust blower would be nice for making contour cuts.)

Quality and versatility are better than i even expected despite being a complete novice to woodworking, I would thoroughly recommend. User friendly. Great safety features. Milwaukee certainly lives up to its excellent reputation. Worth every penny. Used this jigsaw to cut 12mm laminate for a room with lots of door frames and alcove. Perfect tool for the job. Very happy customer.

Please fix the one obvious weakpoint on this tool

Probably the absolute worst Milwaukee tool in the market, and I hate to say that. I have spent thousands of dollars on milwaukee tools and accessories and am heavily invested in the M12 line of tools. Every single tool I own besides this one I absolutely love and are amazing quality. It baffles me that Milwaukee would let a tool with such a obvious and widespread fault out in the market, and it's been years of this! Like many other users I have had to replace this tool 4, yes FOUR times due to the bevel not staying locked. They all failed within the first day of use. Cmon guys....you make some great stuff, why the huge fail on this one that has yet to see a fix?? Extremely disappointed in the quality control in regards to this tool. The blade can't stay square!

I love all my m12 tools but I'm very disappointed with this m12 jigsaw. The blade can't stay square. It's very hard to keep it square. The bevel lock is faulty. As a result, I've already damaged two splinter guards. The first one, I thought that it was my fault by turning the tool too hard while doing a curved cut. The blade tilted and damaged the splinter guard. So I ordered a replacement splinter guard which I also damaged. The second time, I knew that it wasn't my fault because I was only trying to do a straight cut while notching a piece of plywood. Little did I know that the blade wasn't staying square so it damaged my 2nd splinter guard. Other than that, this jigsaw also doesn't have a dust blower!
