The SUJIHIKI knife from the MIYABI 5000MCD series is a Japanese slicing knife with a hand-forged blade made of 100 layers of different types of steel. Not cheap but I think incredible value given the sale price offered and the fact that this will last my friend's lifetime and then be passed down to his son - such is the quality and specialness of the item.
