I must be jinxed! Bought one of these in February and it worked perfectly - great soup with no fuss. I didn't leave a review which is just as well as recently it kept cutting out after a couple of minutes, but even after such a short time there was burning to the base. Changed fuse - not the issue. Possibly thermostat? After following instructions re emptying it, washing it and leaving it for half hour, and still having the same problem I resorted to leaving it overnight - did the same thing. Replaced by the store a day ago.....and the same thing is happening with the replacement. I am using it correctly re min/max fill and chopping ingredients into small pieces, and having a balanced liquid/solid ratio. Excellent easy to use, and clean, with various functions. Doesn't take up much space. Press button as I touched it wondered why it didn't come on. I popped in a little melted butter (optional) or oil, dropped in ready chopped shop fresh veg, added water, pinch of salt, crumbled on 1 stock cube. I filled to top fill line. 19 mins later piping hot healthy nutritious soup. I made the soup really thick to pack in more nutrients, it made 3, and when cooled 2 for the freezer. Without having to clean in between make up 3 or 4 batches at once and freeze. If using frozen veg defrost it first. Ideal size for 1-3 people. Online there's many recipes, but just the ingredients that you want, and adjust to your taste, or dietary requirements. You could use tinned drained veg, or add tinned tomatoes. I'll try the smoothie function in summer using fresh or defrosted fruit. Ideal if you've been to the dentist, or too ill to eat a meal. Take to work and microwave, or use food flask. To defrost leave in fridge overnight. How did I live without this! Excellent 2 yr guarantee although I expect the quality of this to last year's.

I am so pleased with this soupmaker. It makes 3 or, sometimes, 4 bowls of soup in such a short time and is so easy to use. We are eating healthy lunches now! We eat two and freeze the rest. The first time I used it I was disappointed as I followed one of the recipes then couldn't fit the lid on the base. I then realised that the vegetables have to be cut up quite small to fit in properly and after that it was plain sailing! I have found other soup maker recipes online and also a basic vegetable soup recipe showing the quantity of vegetables and liquid that fit in so that I can use leftover veg. Delighted!

Great time-saving product

I have been delighted with this soup maker. I had read reviews beforehand and was wary about those that mentioned food sticking and burning on the base or the difficulty cleaning it because of the electrical components. I have not experienced these issues and found it easy to clean if you do it straight away just rinsing under the tap taking care where water is directed. I would not have bothered making soup previously but have found I can just defrost frozen vegetables, cut them into smaller portions and add to the jug with water and stock cube. Switch it on and 20 minutes later a lovely jug full of smooth soup which will give me two generous sized portions. I have only used it on the smooth setting for soup and not tried it on chunky or prepared cold drinks in it ... MoreI have been delighted with this soup maker. Also it is small enough to leave permanently out on display on the worktop - just need to be aware of steam rising up from the hot soup when removing the lid so I wear oven gloves.

This is a great little soup maker, no bigger than a kettle and ideal for just a couple of large bowls of wholesome soup. Nice warming meal and you know exactly what's in it. I prepare veg in advance then when we home in just 19 minutes it's cooked. I use a couple of small peeled potatoes in all mixes to give a creamy texture, lovely with a broccoli head, a bit of onion, celery or carrot, whatever's in the fridge. Fill up to min level with veg, throw in a stock cube and salt & pepper, add water up to max level. Then once cooked and served I add a slice of blue cheese on top, delicious broccoli and cheese soup and so cheap and easy. Would definitely recommend. Was a bit worried about cleaning it as can't be submerged in water but it's easy, nothing sticks just use a ... MoreThis is a great little soup maker, no bigger than a kettle and ideal for just a couple of large bowls of wholesome soup. Pluses - easy to use, quick good tasty results. Encourages us to eat more veggies, and price per portion is very economical. Even if you decide to sweat the veg first (in another pan), it's a quick way to a nutritious meal. Not sweating the veg first still produces a very tasty hot meal. It's perfect for this time of year (autumn) in these financially difficult times.Minuses - you cannot overfill, so it makes 3 bowls' full max, so no batch prep. It's fiddly to clean, as you cannot immerse any part, and you cannot put it in the dishwasher. It all requires careful hand washing. The gasket (silicone?) seems to be the most flimsy part, and has to be removed for each washing. I hope I can get another if it deteriorates. I actually bought the Soupmaker for my Disabled Son . His Carer had asked me to get one for their kitchen. When it arrived I thought I had better try it first to make sure it was suitable etc. I was so impressed with the result , the fact that this lovely little gadget makes two large bowls of soup in only nineteen minutes, and the preparation is so simple too and the washing up is a dream. The Carer tells me that it is Perfect. In fact I am going to order another one for myself. 😊

Absolutely brilliant. So easy to use that I can get some soup on in the morning whilst I take a shower.Smooth soups are delicious and quick. Chunky soups take little more chopping prep and 5 mins longer but it's worth it for the extra texture.Easy to wipe clean straight after use too. Makes about three decent sized portions which is enough for a two person household.

Tried and Tested

This is the second one I've bought. My first lasted 6 years of frequent use, never let me down, and produced great soup every time. Just before Christmas it began to blow sockets in the kitchen when switched on, and I noticed discolouration on the base of the jug that had never been there before. I was going to buy an all singing all dancing replacement, but after a lot of thought, and taking weight and size into consideration, I decided to buy the same model. Picked it up two days ago, made soup, and, as before, quick and perfect soup, no pans to watch or wash. Not big, so not suitable to feed more than 2 people, but for 1 or 2 people, or making soup to freeze, it's been good value for money. I really hope this one lasts as long. Held my breath when first plugged new one in as it didn't start, but it seemed that the flex on this one needed more firmly pushed in to the jug, then it was all systems go as before. The 4* are because it can be difficult to see the max and min fill lines, but that's not a huge problem.

Wonderful soup
3 December 2023

I'm honestly never going to buy soup again. This soup maker makes it to perfection. It's piping hot when finished, I've only tried it on the smooth option so far. I use up all my let over veg in it so it's so cost effective. It makes about 3 bowlfuls which is perfect for us. It only takes 19 minutes for the smooth and 26 minutes for the chunky, it does smoothies too. I'm really pleased with this purchase. Very simple to use also.
