Neostrata Resurface - High Potency Cream 20 AHA/PHA - 30g/1oz

When I first started using this High Potency Cream I thought I was experiencing purging which sometimes happens when starting a new product. I got little comedones on my face and bumps on both my face and neck that were not red but are incredibly itchy, signally to me that I'm sensitive or allergic to something in this product. It also has a strange smell, very chemical-y but the box indicates that it's a year away from expiration. ANYWAY, on the positive side - in the areas that did not react negatively, my cheek area near my nose and my nose, I saw a significant reduction in blackheads. Also, I always read the ingredients very carefully but somehow missed that there are parabens in this product, which is unfortunate. My skin can be "moody" but I don't consider it to be overly sensitive and I have used glycolic acid products in the past without a problem. Bummer.

No irritation for me at all, ps I'm an experienced acid and retinol user. After one night use, I dont see the difference yet I feel the difference on my face by touching it. Bumps on chin and forehead are smaller, I dont expect skin tone have big change in a night, skin care is not breach. I use this straight after toner, can describe as using it alone. My skin is super dry in winter, but I dont feel particularly dry though. After 3 nights continually using it, I do feel like I need a bit of HA layering in such a harsh uk winter, especially if I've been out instead of staying home. It's a good test by just using it on it own at the beginning. I cant wait to try its retinol 0.5% when my current serum runs out. I heard its strong, I'm exciting for this brand. I really like this product. My skin is not ultra sensitive to glycolic acid and I used this product daily without any issues. You definitely feel a tingle when you apply the cream to your face. If you have sensitive skin I would follow the instructions. I used this product mostly as my night moisturizer. The cream is not drying at all even though it is exfoliating your skin it also seems to moisturize at the same time. Anything with acid works really well on my skin to keep it clear and smooth so I did expect this cream to work well. What I was disappointed by is the fact this is a very small bottle and it doesn’t last long at all.
