Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion 88ml

I’m not sure how “clean” the ingredients are in this product, but it is effective and gentle on my toddler’s skin. I’ve been using it on him since he was about 6 months old, during pool days or beach weekends. It’s a very thick formula, so it’s tricky to rub in, but it provides a nice layer of protection, so I don’t mind that. The fragrance is nice and not overpowering. I use it on my face as well and it doesn’t make me break out or clog my pores! A must buy summer product.

Burns eyes with sweat or water

Was really looking forward to this. Unfortunately it burns my eyes really badly when sweat runs off my forehead or eyebrows and into my eyes. People think I've been crying because it makes them so red and aggravated. It's quite painful though and there's no way to stop the aggravating. Washing your face with soap to remove the sunscreen isn't particularly effective and rinsing your eyes with water only provides temporary respite from the discomfort. It's also very thick, difficult to rub in if you have any facial hair (sticks to my beard making it quite white).

Excellent physical sunscreen

I was after a physical sunscreen for my family after having my daughter. I wasn't interested in a chemical sunscreen and having tried a few brands, this is my go to. Initially it is thick and has a white film, but it quickly dries and becomes clear. Importantly it is not greasy. I apply it to my face in the morning before heading out to work and leave it for a few minutes before applying makeup. It doesn't pill. My daughter also likes it and she is 2 and a half. No irritation to date. I highly recommend it. It is more expensive than the chemical sunscreens, but overall it does a better job and the risk of irritation is reduced.

Gentle on skin, strong on protection

I’m very fussy when it comes to sunscreen and this is my number one choice for my outdoor, water loving, fair skinned toddler. This sunscreen goes on and it stays on. If I’m a bad mum and forget to reapply after 2hrs he still doesn’t get visibly burnt. It doesn’t have the offensive odour some sunscreens have and it doesn’t feel overly greasy. Most sunscreens irritate my skin but I don’t react to the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc. The only reason it loses a star is because I can’t wear it on my face. It’s sheer but not invisible and I don’t like how it looks on my face, especially in photos. If I was rating it for my child only it would get five stars but I need to purchase a seperate product for myself.

Great Product

I have been using this for a while now on my tattooes when I go outside. It isnt very oily and provides great protection from the sun. It stays on my skin and doesnt transfer onto clothes or fabrics in my experience. I had to use this on bubs one day as I ran out of baby sun cream and was fantastic, it spread well and provided great sun protection.

Horrible, it broke me out!

I had picked up this sunscreen wanting to try something that was different. All the descriptions sounded amazing, and the ‘invisible’ nature of the sun screen is what sold me to purchase it. Big mistake! Not only was it so harsh to rub into my skin (I was dragging my skin because of how tacky it was), it also left an awful white cast on my medium to dark skin tone. And don’t even get me started on the smell. I’m not usually one to be sensitive to smell but this was just horrid, it smelt like medicine and the smell clung to me all day. It felt so heavy and greasy on my skin and on top of all that it also broke me out. I’m honestly really upset with this product and the $20 I wasted on it.

Invisible yet effective

I loved the slimline packaging, which means I can take it anywhere in my handbag. The flip-top lid makes it easy to use and there is no mess. The sunscreen itself was brilliant because it was not runny... yet not too thick either. It applied like a white zinc but became invisible after being rubbed in to the skin. There is no typical "sunscreeny" fragrance to the product, which is great. I also liked the fact that the sunscreen dried on the skin and did not leave a greasy residue.

Really ghastly and ghostly...

Very disappointed with this sunscreen. Advertised as "invisible, dry-touch and easy to apply". Maybe I had a dodgy batch, but it was thick, hard to apply, greasy and left me looking like a ghost with a horrible white coating all over my skin. My eyebrows, beard and all my arm/leg hair went white and no matter how much I rubbed, the white sheen stayed on. Other Neutrogena Dry-Touch products seem to be good, but the Sheer Zinc was one of the most unpleasant sunscreens I've used and one of the most expensive

Sheer Zinc delivers

Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Sunscreen lotion goes on like a traditional white zinc product but easily rubs into the skin and leaves no residue and has almost no smell. The product is labelled as 'dry-touch' and that is exactly what it is. It didn't leave any marks on clothes and didn't have that sticky pore-clogging 'sunscreen-feel'. Product was for sensitive skin (which I have) and did not cause any redness or eczema flare-ups. A safe reliable product which offers great sun-protection (even on 40 degree+ days) for face and body. Definitely worth purchasing.

White cast

I've been using the Hydroboost Suncreen and have been loving it. Been trying to switch to a 'safer' ingredients hence I chose this with zinc oxide. The sunscreen felt dry to apply and made me look so white/pale! How disappointing
