I am already using an earlier model Nextbase dash camera, so I was very excited to give this new model a try in another one of my vehicles. I am happy to report that Nextbase has once again, Nextbase has rolled out a top notch product. If you are wanting a high performance 1080P dash camera, look no further than the Nextbase 322GW.My personal preference is to use a 1080P camera over a 4K one because of the reduced file size of 1080P. While 4K provides sharper videos, the higher resolution comes at the expense of much larger file sizes. 108P provides more than adequate resolution to capture detailed video recordings that can clearly make out numbers and letters of a license plate when zoomed. At some point compression technology and SD card improvements will make 4K the current 1080P, but for right now I prefer to use 1080P.Regarding video quality, the video recordings it captures are outstanding. The 1080P videos are very detailed, clear, and sharp. The 140 degree wide angle lens records with a somewhat fish bowl effect of course , but very effectively captures most everything in front of and slightly to the side of the front of the vehicle. The dash camera is straightforward to set up and operate. Simply connect it to the 12V car charger and the camera will do the rest. Just make sure that you have it angled optimally to capture the biggest sight picture. The camera has such a small footprint, that I mostly forget that it is even there..Included are most of the accessories needed to use and mount the dash camera, except for a memory card. A high speed U3 memory card is required. I am using a 64GB card that holds about 8 hours of recording before earring over older footage. It is compatible with 128GB memory cards, which can hold 16 hours of footage. The camera records on a loop and when the memory card gets full, it automatically writes over older footage. The camera can be mounted to the windshield using either a suction cup or an adhesive attachment mount. Both mounts attach magnetically to the camera and make for an easy and strong attachment method. I prefer to use the suction cup mount because it gives me the flexibility to move the camera very easily from vehicle to vehicle. I like this flexibility since I often drive rentals. The suction mount creates a suitably strong connection, but I recommend removing and reattaching it at least once a month since the suction vacuum will lose force over time and eventually fail. Instead of the adhesive strip provided, I would use heavy duty double sided velcro, so it would be easier to remove the camera from the windshield and mount in other vehicles. The settings menu can be used to configure many of the camera's features such as video clip length, video resolution, time/date stamp on or off, GPS coordinates stamp on or off, speed stamp on or off, and audio on or off. I personally keep the audio turned off most of the time for my privacy, and the privacy of my passengers who don't appreciate having their conversations recorded. For myself most of the benefit of a dash camera is derived from recording what is going on on the road around my vehicle. This dash camera is compatible with other Nextbase modules that can expand the capabilities of this already capable camera. I am using it with an optional Rear Window Camera module that snaps right into the camera and can be controlled by this dash cam and share the same memory card. The camera can be used with or without the App and is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capable. I tested the App and it functions well, but you don’t have to use the App unless you want to use the camera wirelessly. The App somewhat reminds me of the Ring App in form and function. I don’t need to access the camera wirelessly, so I won’t be using the App and when I need to copy the footage I remove the memory card and transfer the files that way so I can have the highest resolution. The wireless connections only allow lower resolution transfers in the App. This camera creates files in the universal MP4 format, which makes it simple to transfer files from the card to a computer.Whatever your reason for wanting a dash camera, I can highly recommend the Nextbase - 322GW Dash Cam. It has greatly impressed me with it’s high quality video recordings and reliable operation.

I bought this in hopes it could protect me from insurance claims and parking lot hits. It does record the entire time you are driving if it's recording. You can press the nextbase button to lock a video so it doesn't get overwritten. The installation was very easy. The downside is you have 15-30 seconds of battery life when the car stops. It uses that battery by doing an additional recording because the car was turned off. So that takes up the entirety of the battery. My car was once again door dinged at Target and this dadh cam didnt pick up the movement because the battery was dead. When i spend $199.99 on a dashcam, i expect it to have a decent battery. Especially when it claims that it can record when the car is off in Parking Mode.

This one is EXTREMELY picky with them and essentially only works with the nextbase SSDs (tried several other brands with the same rating)The settings for this are confusing, but i believe it is able to watch over the car while parked, however it circles back to issue 1 where it records protected videos and fills up the SSD.Speaking of protected videos, it has a button that allows you to save 30s clips so you can make fun of bad drivers later... however it only records AFTER you press the button which renders it pointless. Finally, the software, in the camera itself its all fairly basic and works fine. However, the phone app is basically worthless as the connection to camera is finicky, and even when connected its extremely slow and laggy. The PC app however also works okay, and is very handy for reviewing and editing footage.

The Nextbase 322 GW is my first experience using a dash cam. For this review I've had the camera installed on my 2020 Ford F-150 for the past week.In the box is the dash cam with magnetic mount attaching the camera to base, 2 adhesive mounts (one is a spare) for base to windshield, a cable running tool, UBS transfer cable, and a start up guide. A microSD card is recommended, but not included. The packaging recommends to use a Nextbase microSD, which I have installed a 64 GB version of this card. For a basic installation, leaving the wires visible, it takes about two minutes. Plug the 12 / 24 V power adaptor into your vehicle power port, mount camera, and go. The packaging recommends to use a Nextbase microSD, which I have installed a 64 GB version of this card. For a basic installation, leaving the wires visible, it takes about two minutes. Plug the 12 / 24 V power adaptor into your vehicle power port, mount camera, and go. If you want to make it look nice by routing the cable, take the extra 5 minutes and use the cable guide tool to press the power cable into the headliner seam and down the door frame. Do NOT let this step deter you from purchasing. With a quick Google search you can find your specific make and model vehicle and learn how to route cables quickly by removing trim, and tucking into designated channels. After installation, you should let the dash cam charge for two hours. This ensures it will retain time stamps and other information acquired via the app. While charging, next step is to install the "MyNextbase" app. This was a quick install on my Android and I have had no issues with bugs, lag, or performance from the app. The connection process was simple, the app will turn on wifi and directly connect to the dash cam without user input required. I was then prompted to update the firmware, which took two attempts, but I was able to have the camera updated within 5 minutes of installing the app.Within the app are the following features - home screen, library of uploaded videos / photos, dash cam that will connect you directly to the dash cam internal files for download selection, and the SOS function. Note there is a free one year subscription of "Incident Aware" a feature that will send videos automatically to your insurance company or individual that you designate during the registration process. The dash cam itself has a high resolution 2.5" touchscreen in which you can also touch to take video or photo. The viewing angle is advertised at 140* which I can confirm that you can easily see across two lanes of traffic. There is a sensor built in to backup video files if it detects an event. I found that I trigger these events semi frequently taking a rail road crossing without slowing down or when I take the truck off road. There is also a small button at the bottom you can push to trigger a protected event recording that shows up with a red lock icon in the app. For size and ease of transfer I have my video file set up for one minute increments. As far as recording quality, I have uploaded two screen shots from the app of both daytime and night time driving.Important features to note:In the daytime video you can clearly see vehicles across a total of four lanes. This came as a surprise to me, the camera also captures in cab audio, so I can replay the video to remind my husband of the errands he promised to run. :)There are two tabs under each video one for map (shown in night time driving photo) and telemetry which gives speed, lat/long, compass with bearing. For the night time photo:You can where the lane immediately in front of the truck has clear visibility for approximately 75', and the arrows on either side are to advance the video playback by frame to capture a specific time or event. There is a map with icon to show, via gps, where on the map the vehicle is that correlates to the image on the videoLastly, the camera also has a smart motion feature, which will turn on recording when you are parked and motion is detected. This is great for at home or rural settings, but when I go into the city I find that all of the activity keeps the camera running for the entire duration that I'm parked.Overall, setup is quick and easy, the app is intuitive to set up and use, and the dash cam is essentially plug and play. The recordings are high quality and I have no doubt that I could successfully use them for insurance purposes if a wreck were to occur within visibility of the front and midway down the truck's hood. I am mildly concerned with how warm the camera became after an hour of use in 80 degree weather, but for now I'm optimistic this will not be an issue. Overall I find this to be a great basic dash camera that provides peace of mind for those that want the extra protection that comes with recording the environment around your vehicle.
I love having a dash cam. I like the idea of having a record of what happened that is more accurate than the memories of those involved. The Nextbase 322GW is a great little dash cam for recording what happens on your daily drive.Setup is very simple and relatively quick. Simply download the "My Nextbase" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play store, insert the Micro SD card, and power up. Next, connect the camera to your phone following the instructions in the app, and complete the setup process via the app. The only issue I had was the app providing an error message while connecting that initially made me believe the connection didn't work, so I started the process over once or twice. Just be patient and the camera will connect to your phone...Video quality is very good, and the wide angle lense captures a huge arc in front of the vehicle. Interestingly, after hitting a deer, I was sure I should have seen the animal and had time to stop, but I then learned that the camera was seeing things much further to the left and right than my eyes can see, so the deer was visible to the camera well before it came into my vision. The camera comes with 3M with mounts that use 3M VHB tape to attach to your windshield. This tape stick securely and stays. It works much better than the suction cup mount on the that came with my older camera. The suction cup sometimes loses it's hold, and the camera falls and hangs from its power cord. I fear that this will eventually damage the cord or the jack on the camera, so the double-sided tape mount is a big upgrade. The camera also comes with a nice long power cord, which makes it easy to route it out of the way, and even behind door post trim and headliner if you wish.Obtaining captured video from the camera is very easy using the free app as well, so if you need to hand it over to the police you can do so in mere seconds. The camera also allows for a second rear-facing camera to be connected, providing nearly 360 degrees of coverage. If you're inthe market for a dash cam, this would be an excellent choice.
I love the super simple, quick, easy setup of this dash cam. Out of the box, connected to my phone and installed in my car in a total of ten minutes. Once connected to power supply in the car it automatically turns on and off with the vehicle ignition. The sticky mount has great grip so make sure you get it in the right place on the first try! I loved that it came with the little tool to tuck the cord into my vehicle trim so that it’s not hanging loose and in the way constantly. The one downside to this is that you cannot do anything unless the phone and camera are connected, so to make any changes to settings or to review any recordings you have to turn on the car. I do have an external memory card that I could take out but I wish I’d just be able to make any changes or review the videos from inside my home. So far it’s been recording in one minute increments, so my hour commute to work results in at least 60 video clips. I don’t remember to check if this can be adjusted until I’m already settled inside the house, hence the reason I say it’s slightly inconvenient to have to be connected to the camera with the vehicle on. However, definitely not a deal breaker and a minor inconvenience that I can get used to. The picture and recording quality are phenomenal - everything is clear, crisp and detailed. I feel that, should I ever need any recordings for documentation purposes, the ones that this camera captures would be more than sufficient to use. The field of view is also beyond what I was expecting as I can see well beyond the field of view that the windshield provides.Overall I’m very happy with this dash cam and will be looking into purchasing the optional rear view camera that can be paired with it. Definitely would recommend to a friend!
The Nextbase offers a great way to protect protect yourself and personal vehicle in the event of a motor vehicle accident or break in. Out of the box you should get everything you need to help get you started however be advised this unit will not work without a SD card and depending on the package you go with, it may or may not come with one. All you need to do is simply mount the base to the center of the window ensuring that you get the most visibility possible then simply run the power cord to your vehicles power source. Nextbase will provide a handy trim tool which looks like a smaller version of a shoe tongue which you will use to simply push your power wire up in between your vehicles trim panels. While this is a single forward facing camera you do have the option to buy and run a rearward facing camera attachment as well. One awesome feature that i love about this camera that alot of the older cameras never came with is the added feature of a free app service to help customize your set up. The camera links up to your personal mobile device and utilizes its internet to give you multiple add ons. Through the app you can view live recordings at any time and set up its intelligent park mode feature which allows for some pretty cool additions. While activated the camera will automatically start recording any time it detects motion. In case i forgot to mention this camera also records audio as well with the option for you turn this feature off. There is a built in G-Sensor that in the event somebody backs up too far and hits your car it will automatically start recording and will even zoom in automatically on the vehicles license plate. If you are looking for some more added safety features then you may fall in love with its optional SOS mode which can be turned on via the provided app. The SOS feature allows medical personal to be notified in the event it gets activated due to a severe accident. Once activated your GPS is sent to a 911 dispatch to notify them that you have been involved in a accident and may need medical attention. You can even upload personal information such as your blood type and allergies to help assist medical staff in the event they find you unconscious. This feature is free for the first year then after starts at $4.99 per month. There is also a incident feature that allows you to send video recordings directly from your device to your vehicles car insurance company to help speed up the claims process. In the event that you do find yourself in a motor vehicle accident this unit comes equipped with a protect button. When pressed the previous recording will be locked and can not be erased. Overall this is a awesome dashcam that is a great way to help protect yourself from those hit and run drivers or those people looking to scam insurance companies on your dime. Although the price tag may be hefty i truly feel it is worth every penny
Great piece of kit and value for money. I have bought four of these now - two 312’s & two 322’s for our previous and current vehicles. The picture quality is superb both day and night and the unit is simple to operate. A nice feature is that you can select a blank screen which is less of a distraction especially at nighttime. I had two of the units fitted by Halfords and their service and attention to detail could not be faulted. The other two I fitted myself, as I had the time to spare. DIY fitting is straightforward as long as you don’t mind being in a cramped up posture for 15 minutes fiddling with mini fuses ( oh to be young again!). The self adhesive holder is a vast improvement over the suction mount, especially as this enables a more discrete positioning ... MoreGreat piece of kit and value for money. DIY fitting is straightforward as long as you don’t mind being in a cramped up posture for 15 minutes fiddling with mini fuses ( oh to be young again!). The self adhesive holder is a vast improvement over the suction mount, especially as this enables a more discrete positioning behind the vehicle’s rear view mirror. Also the magnetic mount means that the camera can be disconnected, stored away and re-mounted quickly. This could save you money if you have two cars and don’t want the expense of purchasing two cameras.
I just got the Nextbase - 322GW Dash Cam a few days ago and was able to install it rather easily in my F-150 pick-up truck. The power cable it came with was long enough to route under the trim around the windshield and dash. I opted to use the suction cup mount for now, and may switch to the adhesive pad before the summer. I especially like that the charging cable plugs into the mounting base, so you can easily detach the camera from the magnetic mount without having to disconnect the power cable. This is an FHD 1080p camera capable of recording videos at 60fps, or 30fps. I prefer the highest quality available, but be warned it will take up a lot more storage space. The power cable it came with was long enough to route under the trim around the windshield and dash. I opted to use the suction cup mount for now, and may switch to the adhesive pad before the summer. Either way, the video quality is very good and is standard MP4 format, so you can view it on any modern device. The camera pairs with smartphones via bluetooth, and you have to install their App and have it running if you want to view live content on your phone and additional information such as GPS coordinates and the speed you’re traveling. It also allows you to download recorded video clips directly to your phone for viewing, storing or sharing. Make sure you install a fast U3 microSDHC memory card for best performance. I first tried it with an older SD card and the recording was a bit choppy at 60fps, so I installed a 64 GB Nexbase U3 card that offers up to 100 MB/s read speeds that is even suitable for 4K UltraHD videos. There are many other settings you can change using the pretty nice 2.5” touch screen display. There is even an emergency SOS response feature that will alert 911 via your phone, in the case of a crash detected by the built-in G-sensor. Hopefully you’ll never have to test out this feature…
I researched prior to buying the Nextbase 322GW with rear dashcam. Had a couple of minor issues that support helped me to overcome. The dashcam was straight-wired into my fusebox to turn one when I cranked up my car. However, about 3 months past the warranty, it started doing strange things:1) It no longer connected to my phone2) It no longer turned on when I cranked up my car.3) It no longer turned off when I cut my car off.If I left the dashcam on after turning cutting the car off, it would stay on, which it is not suppose to do.If the dashcam is already off and I crank up my car, it would remain off instead of turning on like it should. If the dashcam was left on after cutting the car off (since it quit turning off when I cut the car off), it would turn ... MoreI researched prior to buying the Nextbase 322GW with rear dashcam. I have over $400 in this set up and I am not happy with what it is doing now. I emailed support and voiced my opinion about how I felt they should correct this by replacing my dashcam, which I felt was the right thing to do. They could not solve the problem and did not know what was causing it.
