Nioxin System 4 Trial Kit

I received NIOXIN system Kit 1 as part of a free sample program. I have been using it for several weeks and I have noticed that my scalp feels cleaner, more moisturized and less itchy. I have not noticed a big difference in the thickness of my hair, but I only wash my hair every other day, so results could take longer. My hair looks a little less frizzy as well.The shampoo is blue in colour and smells slightly minty. It gives my scalp a very light tingling feeling that is refreshing. It also makes my scalp tingle lightly and is not uncomfortable. It leaves my hair smelling lightly of menthol or a minty scent. My hair does not appear much thicker, but I have noticed some increased growth in my baby hairs.

The 3 step system is a nice way to try out the products as they're meant to be used, depending on your hair type and needs.The Scalp Cleanser is a nice shampoo that feels fresh and leaves my scalp very clean. I don't use many products containing sulfates, but I'm not extremely against them either, and this product contains them. The peppermint oil definitely added to the fresh feeling. Whether it's the alcohols or the peppermint oil in the product, or just that it sits on my skin more than other conditioners (I normally do not use conditioner on my scalp), it is a bit too much for me. I do not have sensitive skin, but the cooling effect lingers longer than I like.The Scalp & Hair Treatment leave-in is easy to use and control with the nozzle of the bottle, and the best part is that it didn't show at all when my hair dried. With my hair being fine and on the thinner side, some things can really look flat or weird even if I don't use much. This product however absorbs well and my hair looks good. I was expecting that it would have minoxidil as an ingredient, but it does not.My favourite product is the shampoo, least favourite is the conditioner. Since they're meant to be used as a system, I'm not sure I would buy this again. I liked that using this kit made me more aware of the condition and treatment of my scalp itself, and not just my hair. That along with the products has made me pay more attention and gives more lift to my hair, and has reduced the oiliness I can get at the roots. Do I have more volume or hair growth after a month? I'd say it is negligible.

A great solution for hair loss

The conditioner is nice, it has an invigorating minty feel and conditions well, just make sure you give it a couple of minutes before rinsing it out.I love the foam application for step 3. On my first day, I wasn't quite sure what point to apply it according to directions, other than applying it after my shower. I ended up waiting until my hair was partially dry but regretted it immediately as my hair felt crispy. I brushed it in a few different directions to hopefully break it up and it settled things. Now when I get out of the shower I put a hair towel on while I get dressed and immediately apply it afterward. You need to shake the bottle to activate the foam, applying it all up on the scalp. At this point I put my hair towel back on to let it dry, when I take it off, there are no crunchy bits at all!! My hair feels quite nice!I would recommend this Nioxin system, though progress is slower, it is different for everyone. I feel like there would be noticeable growth after a few months of use. It's also great as there are different systems geared towards different hair types giving you choices. If you find your ends are too dry, a deep conditioner will help.

Effective Treatment but Can't Solve all My Problem

Second, I also only wash my hair 1-2 times a week because I find more frequent washing cause overproduction of oil in my hair and the first few days my scalp is really itchy if I frequent washing. The first week was wonderful as I don't have any acne flare (because the exfoliation is still working)and my scalp is hydrated so I was not scratching my head all the time. But starting on the second week, my scalp acne is slowly coming back and by the end of the one-month trial, I'm back to having as many pimples on my scalp as I had before I got rid of them with exfoliation. However, I am definitely having more volume in my hair than before when I had patches of hair loss. I have the before photo where I have patches of loose hair and the after photo where there is fuller volume but with acne.I then test two weeks alternating between using a regular shampoo conditioner and exfoliation with the kit, the result is much better. Overall I like the Nioxin kit, but it needs additional help in my case.

I'm usually someone who just buys whatever shampoo and conditioner are on the best sale at the drugstore; this was my first foray into more luxurious haircare and I wouldn't have even bothered with this set until I received a free sample of it. Again, I don't have much to compare this set to as I hardly ever venture out in haircare products, but I was extremely surprised by how much better this shampoo/conditioner was than the drugstore ones I've used in the past! I think the packaging is quite simple and nothing to write home about, but the feeling of both the shampoo and the conditioner on my scalp is a gentle, minty tingling that I absolutely love the feeling of. I have now been using Nioxin System 2 for just under a year and have had great results. I did almost give up a few months in as I didn’t think it was doing anything but I eventually decided to persevere and I’m so glad I did! My parting has almost entirely regrown and no longer looks like a Christmas tree is forming. Overall, I am very pleased with Nioxin and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future. The only negative is the step 3 scalp treatment foam - no matter how much or how little I use, it leaves my hair feeling weighed down, sticky and unmanageable. It is nearly impossible to brush my hair with the scalp treatment applied and the advice on the packaging is to not wash it off after application which then leaves my hair stiff and emphasises the sparse areas of my lengths due to how the foam makes my hair stick together at the root. I have now taken to applying the scalp treatment at night before bed and wash my hair as usual (step 1 shampoo and step 2 conditioner) for the daytime so that I am still using all three steps at some point but without leaving my hair a dirty feeling, sticky mess with little movement during the day.

I’m not sure how accurate this ways scientifically-speaking as I never looked into it, but I did use the Level 1 products for about a year and she noticed a difference in the health of those hairs. Since that time I switched to cheaper products, and then to natural products. My thinning has since progressed to much more severe. So this time I chose to try Level 2 through a free sample program. I am giving an honest review. I found the shampoo very strong which seemed to leave my hair feeling dry, almost stripped. Now, down to the reason you choose Nioxin in the first place… thinning. It’s hard to tell after just a month if it helps. I mean, even Rogaine products take a couple of months to see if there’s new growth, and I don’t believe this product is made to regrow hair, but to improve the appearance of thinning hair. I did find it help volumize the hairs themselves and it did seem to appear somewhat thicker. The added treatment was nice, but I also had to learn how much to use, and not apply too much to the root area or it did not style well. Overall, it is a decent system that may be provide some benefits for thinning hair if you’re willing to pay the price, but I’m not sure it’s truly worth the cost for me personally.
