In exchange for less noise, this fan moves less air. My previous Masscool fan was noisy and I wanted to replace it with something quiet. I read all the reviews about Noctua fans so I thought this fan would be the answer. However, after installing this fan and closing up my case, I noticed that the temperature of my video card increased about 3 degrees compared to my previous fan and I had to increase the sped of my GPU fan. In other words, this fan may be quiet but is it not going to give you the best cooling. If you are looking for less noise and are not concerned about cooling as much, this fan is great. If you need more cooling, go with a higher RPM, higher CFM fan and accept the trade off of more noise.

Used in composting toilet chimney vent, Last one ran 4 years non stop. Low draw and virtually silent.

I bought this fan for a small form factor case to be used as an exhaust fan at the back of the case. This fan has very good airflow even when running at a slow RPM speed I have tuned the fan in my system to run at the lowest RPM possibly while providing good airflow to expel the hot air from my PC.I would highly recommend these fans if you are looking for a small fan with a good level of airflow.

I had to mount the Seagate Firecuda SSD/HDD Hybrid above the case. You are able to mount it on the bottom, but if you have a 140mm fan, it blocks the power SATA connector. 120mm case fan is fine as there is enough clearance. Silence. My loudest fan is now my CPU cooler - ordering a noctua cooler today. I purchased these to see how they sound, as my case (nmedia 8000) suggests adding two 92mm fans to add additional cooling to the front slots. (this case does not actually have any type of mounting or screwholes and they must be hand made, but that's for it's review) These come with a ton of adapters - I have them running at full speed, and in this case, they are still inaudible from my desk, or bed. I have a microphone about 6 feet away - leveled to pick up me whispering into it, it still doesn't pick up a drop of idle PC noise with my CPU fan turned off. These are expensive, and that may turn you off, but bear this in mind - fans are cheap. And they usually have bright LEDs. I wanted a ... MoreSilence. And this is guaranteed for 6 years. 6 YEARS. I might need to replace these twice a decade. If you want a quieter case, be it for HTPC, recording studio, (both of which my PC is for) these
The fan is fas-tastic. The only sound, if I put my ear up to the side of my computer, is a soft whoosh -- just pure white noise that's inaudible during use. That's unlike the original Sunon EE92251S3-D020-C99 that came with my new HP Pavilion, which made an almost-metallic ringing sound at several (disturbing) frequencies. Nice packaging, too!
This fan is NOT a 4-pin PWM. This wasn't an issue for me because the fan I replaced with this also wasn't PWM, but the fact the Newegg lists these as PWM when they're not is pretty annoying. It's not the first time I've seen Newegg do this. This fan actually looked pretty nice in the case I was using, which was a pleasant surprise.
The fan is super quiet, exactly what I would expect from Noctua. My only complaint is that the fan doesn't come with the typical rubber corner cushions (hence 4 eggs). The cable is very long for those who need it. I also like that it isn't the typical Noctua brown and beige like the one I replaced.
I bought this product to replace a recently fallen Compaq OEM fan in a 2004 Evo D510. Needless to say, it fit perfectly in the vintage full size case. I also bought one of these fans to replace a rather noisy JMC/Datech fan in an older Dell Dimension of mine. In both cases, the fans perform admirably.
