Noctua NH-D12L chromax.black CPU Cooler
The NH-D12L chromax.black is an all-black version of Noctua's award-winning NH-D12L low-profile cooler in the 120-mm class that is characterised by excellent cooling performance and a high degree of housing compatibility. With a height of just 145 mm (13 mm lower than the classic 120-mm Noctua models), it fits into numerous 4U systems as well as smaller tower enclosures, which were previously limited to solutions with 92-mm fans. At the same time, its performance exceeds many full-height 120-mm models thanks to its dual tower design with five heat pipes and the trendsetting 120-mm NF-A12x25r fan. Thanks to the single fan configuration and asymmetric design, the NH-D12L on AMD AM5/AM4 and Intel LGA1851/1700/1200 does not protrude over the memory slots. The high-quality complete package is rounded off by the proven SecuFirm2 assembly system and Noctua's renowned NT-H1 thermal compound. The NH-D12L is the perfect choice when first-class cooling performance is required but you have insufficient space for the larger NH-U12A.

Great cooler, keep my ryzen 7700 cool below 70c on full load under stress tests. Good size as well. I suspect this will perform even better with a second fan but probably wouldn't need it for the average user

Using it with an Intel I5 13600KF at stock 5GHz clock. Quite compact, well made and very quiet. With very heavy workloads sometimes the CPU temperate was getting too high so bought the optional 2nd fan and no problems now.

Perfect heatsink for motherboards with large heatsinks, like the ASUS Strix Z690-F.It's only one of a few Noctua heatsinks that will fit on this board.
Great as always
Bought to cool a 11900KF, does so very well. What I can't get over is the quietness, even without low noise mode on it is amazing, no whine or anything, and I have my mATX case on the desk in front of me. Highly recommended.Scan as usual have done a great job delivering and packaging items I've bought in the past, haven't let me down yet.
Purchased 2 of this cooler to replace the Noctua NH-C14S coolers I had on the 2x Intel E5 2670V2 CPU's in my 4U Supermicro CSE-846 server chassis. With the 2 Noctua NH-C14S coolers the CPU's were running toasty but not to bad, however because I couldn't fit the rear fans in the chassis there was no real front to back airflow, so they just circulated the hot air around the chassis, as the coolers were so large that there was no space for the rear fans. That caused the SAS Expander on the Hard Drive backplane to overheat, cause the HBA card to overheat resulting in alarms and really slow performance.Swapped out to these with 2 fans on each plus the rear fans as they would now fit and the temps are all under control.CPU's dropped by 15c, SAS Expander and HBA are ... MorePurchased 2 of this cooler to replace the Noctua NH-C14S coolers I had on the 2x Intel E5 2670V2 CPU's in my 4U Supermicro CSE-846 server chassis. That caused the SAS Expander on the Hard Drive backplane to overheat, cause the HBA card to overheat resulting in alarms and really slow performance.Swapped out to these with 2 fans on each plus the rear fans as they would now fit and the temps are all under control.CPU's dropped by 15c, SAS Expander and HBA are all very happy now not overheating and the Quadro P2000 is sitting at a cool 50c when in use.
It's small, quiet and keeps my CPU at great temps, literally my only issue with it was that it was annoying to open by myself since the cardboard packaging is a tight fit in the box
This cooler is installed on an 7700X in the new AM5 socket and I can keep all cores running around 5.3GHz to 5.6GHz with prime95 in a low budget case with reasonable airflow, and that's good enough for me. Found a good YouTube video explaining how to mount this exact cooler on the new socket and it was very helpful.
moved a 10900K on a Gigabyte w480 Mb from a fractal design r6 case to a 4u storage server case (INTER-TECH 4724) and needed to change from a water cooler 360mm corsair to a 4 u air cooler. after checking a good number of input sources I went for the Noctua as it was claimed that it could support the CPU clocked at around 5GHz. and this certainly appears to be the case. temps (package) got up to 75c under full load (100% cpu for 5 hours) clocks stayed at 5GHz with no thermal throttle and all is good, I bought the second fan but did not need to fit it, with the temps controlled by a single fan. other case fans where at idle during test. Most importantly the reported height of the cooler is accurate with between 5mm and 10m clearance for the lid of the case. Probably one of the largest coolers that will actually fit in a 4u case
