An excellent mid-size tower cooler. I have owned the original NH-U12S for 5 years and it has performed very well with my overclocked 6600K.This heatsink has excellent build quality, robust and easy to use mounting hardware, free replacement mounts for new sockets, and class leading noise and thermals for its size. Check the dimensions, but it should fit in most mid size cases. This new chromax version looks fantastic, every component is coated in black and has a stealthy, professional look. This cooler is ideal for overclocking with ~100w CPUs (6600k, R7 2700X)I have knocked one star off because it is quite expensive, quality doesnt come cheap, and the NF-A12x25 fan is quieter and cools a degree or two better than the NF-F12 in my experience, but the chromax version ... I'm using this to cool my i5 12600K without any problems. The max CPU temperature I've seen while playing AAA games at 1080p ultra settings is around 68°C. I don't see why anyone would buy anything else, except if you really need RGB. There is plenty of room for over clocking as well

I purchased this cooler for my Intel 10400F CPU to upgrade to the stock cooler. There is a significant improvement in cooling performance.Up to low loads, the stock cooler maintained the CPU temp around 40-45°C; this Noctua maintains the CPU temp at around 30-35°C. At moderate loads, the stock cooler operated up to ~60°C; this cooler maintains the CPU in the forties (°C), heading into the low fifties at worst. The additional cooling also means the case fans run at lower RPMs, so the demand on them is significantly reduced. The cooler footprint isn't large so combability is good (eg tall RAM still fits, etc). Plenty of parts are included to for compatibility with several types of Intel and AMD sockets.Highly recommended for entry and mid-range CPU cooling upgrades ... Noctua quality in black which includes LGA 1700 support out of the box. No need to order extra brackets and no waiting to build your Alder Lake rig. Installation is very straightforward and although it is expensive Noctua quality and performance is worth the investment. I have this paired with the i7 12700k at stock settings on an Asus Tuf z690 D4 board. Gaming temps are in the mid 50s C and hold 4800-4900 clocks when multiple threads are used. Running Cinebench pushes temps into the mid 70s and low 80s and considering the max is 100C on these chips there is plenty of headroom there. Any decent case with some airflow should have no issues with this cooler and any AM4 CPU as well as any i5 or i7. I was concerned about temps with Alder Lake but under realistic loads ... Good switch. Compatible with Kasa app I use for other switches. Screw connections for hot wire and runners, just like a standard 3-way plus pigtails for neutral and ground. This makes for a neater wiring job compared to pigtails for all connections. Relatively easy to set up (program) with smart phone.
Glad to see MC selling this amazing cooler. As MC didn't have in stock when I needed a couple of months ago I had to purchase else where. I'm using to cool an AMD 3900X and couldn't be happier. Great cooling and super easy install. After using AIOs for the last 10 years wanted a quality air cooler for simplicity, no risking leaks, maintenance free and less noise. This cooler keeps my cpu idle @35c and max load @68c, which is plenty cool for me. I did add an extra fan to cooler for a push-pull setup. Also using a Corsair 275r Air with 5 fans for max cooling affect. All black looks great and doesn't overlap ram slots to allow nice clean look with RGB RAM in all 4 slots.
Great CPU air cooler, very easy installation. The black stealthy look adds to the aesthetics nicely. Fans are reasonably quiet.Stock configuration out of the box, max temps for the RYZEN 5 5600x hit 76°C, that's not too bad given summer months can be less than ideal in SE QLD.if you are wanting to manually OC? Go AIO or a beefier air CPU cooler.. Maybe suitable for precision boost enabling, and mild auto OC's with custom fan curves, etc, (Yet to try it out).Just a note on the fitment of the fans. Fine if you are not planning to transport your rig to and from locations, if so, either remove fans as they will more than likely slide or move around on the cooler or just be mindful that fans may shift.
This knocks the snot out of the MSI 240 AIO I used for about 6 months before the pump started making noise. Before that, I had a CoolerMaster 120 AIO that lasted maybe 2 years. This is ideally the last CPU cooler I'll have to buy for a mid-tower, as long as new mounting brackets keep coming out. Phenomenal product!
I purchased this cooler for a build where I had an overclocked AMD Ryzen 5 3600. It matched my all black build, came with 1 x 120mm NF-F12 static pressure fan, and looked awesome overall.Temps after installation were ideal, but I ended up installing an additional 120mm NF-F12 running in exhaust on the other side of the heatsink to further keep temps down. With this setup I was able to comfortably OC the R5 3600 @ 4.0 GHz.While Noctua is noticeably more expensive than their competitors, their quality is incomparable, and they have the performance to back it up.Don't sleep.
This cooler is by far the best air cooler money can buy. I don't have much experience with building computers, but the installation was seamless and easy with the instructions provided by Noctua. The air cooler comes with LGA 115x, the new 1700 socket for the Alder Lake CPU's and AM4. The thermal paste provided by Noctua is also top quality.Under load, the highest temperatures I've seen were around 75C, idle around 35-40C. Extremely comparable to any liquid cooling/AIO on the market currently. The fan on the cooler is super quiet, I don't here a thing when playing games.Overall, extremely satisfied with the purchase.
