The black version is stylish as hell and is really cool. One thing i will say is the 2nd fan is sorta not needed. the thing works just fine with a single fan in the center. you only gain about 3 degrees using just a single fan so hardly an insane increase. and honestly that could be due to ambient heat.... at any rate, its nice to have a 2nd fan regardless. if one is on the fritz you good! the included noctua H1 thermal paste is a great addition as well, no alcohol wipes though, just so you know. this ... MoreThe Noctua NH-D15 is a fantastic cooler, but MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SPACE! if you do youll be treated to amazing cooling without havi ng to go through the ballache of making an entire custom loop water cooling solution. thats the only way youll out perform this beast. With my 13th gen i7, my idle temps. Are disgustingly low and they’re usually below average playing triple AAA titles. Although installation can be slightly annoying, and it’s huge and clunky, it’s definitely a good buy given it’s tried and true tech, and cooling power!I

Great cooler, very big!
21 December 2021

A great cooler - bought to replace an old single fan one that had died a little bit, resulting in my CPU overheating. Before this cooler my CPU was idling at around 70, but now it idles around 30, and reaches 60 under load (e.g. gaming). Very rarely does it get about 60, and I've not seen it get into 70 at all. Extra bonus, it keeps other components in my case cooler as well.It has been mentioned before, but this is a big fan - check on the Noctua website whether your case is compatible with it. Mine is fairly small but does fit in. One extra thing - the fan sits over my RAM, so now if I were to replace my RAM I would need to remove the cooler to access it. Just something to bear in mind.

Large and capable cooler

Installed this cooler three weeks ago as a first-time builder, and it's working well on a i7-12700k so far. Quiet operation with idle temps 4-6 degrees above ambient and sustained load temps at about 20-40 degrees above ambient.A couple install notes:The surface of the cooler that touches the IHS is covered by a piece of rigid plastic. My cooler did not have a peel-off sticker that coolers from other manufacturers may have. The cooler comes with a mounting bracket for the LGA1700 socket. For intel 12th-gen chips, the Noctua manual shows how to apply the thermal paste in a quincunx pattern, and there's plenty of paste in the tube to practice your application technique. For ATX PC's, I think it's wise to install a cooler of this size once the motherboard is ... MoreInstalled this cooler three weeks ago as a first-time builder, and it's working well on a i7-12700k so far. I attached the cooler outside the which was nice since it served as a secure handle to grasp the motherboard as it was put into the case, but connecting the fans and power cables and screwing in the motherboard was a delicate operation with two gigantic radiators and fans obstructing the space. Thankfully I had long screwdrivers.

Looks the biz and goes hard

Great, hulking unit that sits perfectly within my build. Clears fairly tall RAM. Only downside is mine came with a fan that makes a high pitched buzzing noise under load which happens quite often trying to cool a i9 13900. Other than that, it idles at 36 degrees and sits under 70 during gaming. Definitely does the job.

Superb quality and easy to install
29 December 2021

I love this cooler - it's easy to install and includes everything you need, even a y-connector for the fan power in case your mobo only has one CPU fan header. It's silent and seems to keep my 5900X cool enough with no discernible fan noise. The only niggle might be with the front fan needing raising if your RAM DIMMs are taller than 32mm - I had to raise the front fan 10mm to allow for the 39mm height of my Crucial Ballistix DIMMs.Also worth mentioning that Noctua support is excellent - my queries about replacing the front 140mm fan with a 120mm (to solve my RAM clearance issue) and using the 140mm fan as an additional case fan were answered quickly and clearly, I was also informed that raising the fan as I had would make little to no difference the cooling ... MoreI love this cooler - it's easy to install and includes everything you need, even a y-connector for the fan power in case your mobo only has one CPU fan header. The Best CPU Air Cooler You Can Buy!
26 August 2022

I installed this on a Z390 MB with a 9700K inside a NZXT H510 case.It was easy to install, it runs very cool and very quiet! I did not have room for the second fan due to RAM height, but I didn't need it anyway. Running Cinebench a couple of passes resulted in a temp of 70 degrees Celsius. Under normal operation it stays much cooler, and it idles about 31 degrees. This replaces an NZXT Kraken X62 280mm AIO. No more worries about a leaking AIO, I do not have to run the CAM software any longer, and I get much better airflow which is better for my GPU!

The best cooler in the world
20 December 2021

Noctua is the best cooler on the market. I am not saying this by hearsay. Before that, I used the NH-D14 model from 2013 to 2021. I never had any problems. Installed and forgotten. I could use it further and I think it would work for the same number of years without any problems, since Noctua uses magnetic centering bearings in coolers. Minimum friction, high efficiency. The blades are designed to minimize operating noise. I changed it to a black model exclusively for the colors. The only drawback is the size, which is quite justified. I'm posting a photo of my previous cooler, which still looks like new after 9 years of flawless operation.

Massive but worth it. If space is an issue: put the second fan on the back (1 middle, 1 back) and use it as an exhaust. That way your ram is still fully accessible and you don’t have to worry about the height. You will have to rotate the bracket clip to face the other side. It’s also not difficult to install. Just take your time, rotate tightening screws to avoid leaning/unevenness. Make sure you have your wiring set for the fans before installing them. These fans are phenomenal.
