What a brilliant supplement. reliably softens stool with sufficient water without digestive upset or nausea. If you have a history of fissures, then this is a godsend and is effective for long term (I hope very long term) use. Much preferable to senna leaf which upsets my stomach badly then produces watery stool. So, highly recommended and this NOW version is as good as they come!

Take with plenty of water.The product is fantastic quality and fresh. The only ingredient is cascara sagrada. Its packaging is very handy and makes it easy to take one capsule each night or when needed. It benefits the digestive system by improving bowel movements. It has no taste because it comes in capsules.

You must get the aged form of cascara. At least one year. Otherwise it has practically no emodin in it. They won't reveal how much emodin is in their product, or how old the cascara bark is, which means it's not aged. The aged kind costs more, the best brand is from Italy, but trust me, it's a night and day difference, not just for digestion (emodin has powerful anti-stress, anti-cortisol effects).

Needed something to occasionally help with going to the restroom (#2) and this seems to do the job. I don’t get the bad stomach cramps either. So I’d recommend this. Do keep in mind that this is not something that is suggested to use daily. I was looking for something that I can use daily because fiber doesn’t do the trick for me.
