Olaplex No. 9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum 90ml

I was very skeptical about this product as a hair serum and reviewed several “bad” reviews before purchasing and applying. Holly Molly! This product is everything! First of all I have never ever brushed my hair wet. It just not gonna happen for me. My hair tends to tangle a lot and it just impossible to brush them without being totally dry. I used all kind of hair oil before. tried them all. I hate detanglers because they just ruin my hair quality. I am blonde (not naturally) and it’s very hard to have long and healthy hair. Leave-ins usually add weight to my hair and make them dirty faster. I use only small amount staring from the most tangled area and adding more if needed. It’s not oil. You don’t need so much. But if you feel you need extra just add it. It’s not making hair greasy. Unless you putting the whole bottle, truly. It does cost some money but I would pay even more to make sure I’m not destroying my hair.

I really like this olaplex product! It’s a watery gel-like consistency that is easy to distribute throughout the hair. I squeeze a small sized amount onto my hands, rub my hands until it’s evenly coated, and then run my fingers gently through damp hair. I love how soft my hair feels when I leave it to air dry. I also use it before and after I blowdry my hair to keep my ends hydrated silky soft. I also like the signature Olaplex scent that it has. It’s really subtle light, and doesn’t last long so it won’t conflict with the fragrance of any products you choose to layer on top. Even though the product says that it is a heat protectant, I still use heat spray on top before styling just to provide additional protection since I mainly treat this product as a moisturizing ... MoreI really like this olaplex product! Avoid Olaplex products unless for tangles

It got a 2 star because I have used all of their products. All of the serums and conditions feel so soft and untangle hair so wonderfully but feels heavy and greasy so you can’t apply it near the roots but still feels like you didn’t wash all of it out and its heavy. The shampoos and stuff foam up very easily, but it’s a better bubble bath than it is a shampoo; it too leaves the hair feeling heavy and greasy. I have a virgin blonde hair, Norwegian, never use any leave in products, very soft hair, never dyed my hair in my life, or had highlights (unless from the sun, naturally) ..but after using this brand (and I’ve used every product they have available) I can say its not worth the money and its not worth the time. Highly recommended— Silky hair!

Without product, my hair is like dry straw. It’s also fine and thin, so it’s difficult to find a product that is sufficiently moisturizing but not so heavy that it weighs my hair down. This serum is perfect! I apply it to towel-dried hair from mid-shaft to ends and blow dry. My hair comes out silky smooth. My boyfriend even commented on how silky my hair felt, and he rarely notices things like that. Sometimes I will style with a curling iron, and I don’t need to use hairspray because this serum keeps the curls set. It has a very light scent that is not overpowering, idk how to describe it other than it smells expensive. Also worth mentioning is that there are no silicones in this serum, so I expect it will keep performing well over time and there won’t be problems ... MoreWithout product, my hair is like dry straw. Not a bad product, but I wasn't that wow-ed either.

This may work for you if you find serums are normally too dense for you and you need a lot of product on your hair or your hair is really long and there is a lot of it to cover. Because in every experience I've always found I pump just once and I have so much product left on my hands I'm forced to wash it down the sink because it is not the sort of pot you can place the excess back into. This is really frustrating for me- you only get 90mls of product in a tube. Even the No.3 and 8 have 100mls! I think that if you're going to have such a low volume for the price the least you could do Olaplex is to have a pump which doesn't appear to deposit nearly 10 times the amount I need! (My hair is shorter and though thick, it is fine). Did I see a difference? Maybe you're meant to mix it with no.6 or something (also a leave-in) but if that is the case it's not mentioned in the directions. I can think of other products I have had better results with. It didn't wreck my hair at all, it didn't weigh my hair down, it gave minimal frizz control and it was easy to apply (ignoring the excess volume!) it is extremely fluid/runny and that I wasn't expecting. I've now trained myself in the art of the half-pump so maybe I wont waste as much the creators could do would be to make it easy to use!

I figured that since I'm already paying a pretty penny for the right stylist, why not invest a bit in a solid product line to treat my damaged hair. My stylist liked other products in the Olaplex line, but since I was looking to keep costs down, I went with the basics and tried Olaplex shampoo, conditioner, and serum on his recommendation.WOW! My hair had looked damaged - broken and fried. It also needed moisture. In just one use, I noticed a very significant improvement. After just two uses, my hair looked healed! It was like new.Also, I'm usually pretty adept at styling my hair. But in the last few years, because I have a lot of thick hair, I had trouble getting my short, stacked, bob to look totally smooth with my blow drying. The cut and color were amazing. But I could never get the blow out really smooth on my own. My arm would get tired while blow-drying. I also don't have a super-powerful blow drier either. I tried all sorts of smoothing products, including Aragon oil. But my hair always looked a bit frizzed. Not when my stylist dried it. Only when I did.Then, I tried Olaplex. I couldn't believe the results from the serum. I'm sure it was the combo of all three products that helped. But the serum is amazing. I was finally able to get a smooth blow out. Shocked by the effortless transformation

My eyesight was too poor to see the instructions on my sample product so I used it like conditioner in the shower and washed it out... (it felt very detangling). Then I put a tiny bit on my damp ends and ran my hands through my hair to get the rest off my hands. I had a busy day and didn't pay any attention to my hair (It air dried while I alternated between a ponytail and bun all day. THEN when getting ready for bed I looked in the mirror abd couldn't believe how shiny, smooth, silky it looked. I hadn't seen my hair texture look that good forever. I have healthy hair but it has been quite dry and dull for a while from Summer. Wasn't For Me - Made My Hair Feel Sticky

I wanted to love this product, I ended up purchasing almost the entire Olaplex hairline in an effort to transform my hair. I have fine, wavy, color-treated blonde hair. I have had great luck with the Kerastase hair oils and thought this product would be awesome, but I ended up throwing it out. I tried using this product on wet, damp and dry hair. I tried using this product before blow-drying and letting my hair airdry. No matter what, this seemed to make my hair feel crunchy, like I was using a mousse on it. It also made my hair feel like it had a sticky/greasy film on it. The few times I used this product, I wanted to wash my hair immediately afterwards.
