I knew something was wrong when My conditioner would not come out of the bottle. It was SO thick I had no choice but to add water to make it thin enough to squirt out. Shampoo never made my hair feel great, and after six months of faithfully using both these AND the mask, and bonding agent, my hair was so dry with brittle ends. Even before starting Oleplex, my hair was in good condition. I’ve since learned I’m not alone and many are having the same results. I see all the five star reviews. Maybe they started with damaged hair and see results. Great! I started with good hair and just wanted to keep it healthy. You’ll need to decide for yourself if Oleplex is for you. I bought mine at Sephora so I don’t suspect it was fake.

I have been using this product for years and just recently ordered it through Walmart.com for the first time after seeing I could save a few dollars that way. I fully regret this decision and will never order Olaplex through Walmart again. The texture of the shampoo is completely off, it is coagulated into a thick gel like substance. It takes a lot more product than normal to even form a lather or become soapy enough to wash properly. The conditioner seemed fine coming out of the bottle however by the look and feel of my hair post condition I can tell that this product was different as well. My hair was extremely dried, frizzy and knotted. I have curly hair and normally do not need to brush it after a shower. This arrived in a soft pack of all things, broken bottles and shampoo/conditioner everywhere. In addition, no seals on the product bottles. I noticed the smell of the product did not match my current set. It is STRONGLY PERFUMED, whereas the other bottles that I have been using throughout the past year are only slightly perfumed. Compared to what we had left in the last set and it is grossly different. Don’t buy from this seller, this is not authentic brand product.

First of all, I ordered a shampoo/conditioner set and was sent 2 conditioners instead. Both bottles of the No.5 have been filled with a bogus product!!! I've used Olaplex for years. The scent of these is awful and nothing like the real scent. The product they put in there made my hair texture TERRIBLE. Both bottles going in the trash. I went and bought a new bottle at an in-person store, and it's the "right" Olaplex. No formula change or anything. This seller is stealing people's money. BEWARE!
DO NOT BUY!!! These are counterfeit. They are putting some other shampoo or god knows what in the bottles and selling them as Olaplex. It damaged my hair, smelled funny and broke my skin out. This is a huge safety issue and I went to customer service about it and got not help but they said they would “escalate the issue and notify the seller.” As if the seller doesn’t already know they’re selling counterfeit items. I didn’t even know Walmart sold items like this from third-party sellers, but apparently they do and everyone should be very careful buying anything from Walmart online since they do this. If anyone knows how to escalate this to someone who could help I would love to or if anyone is an attorney and would like to start a case on this that would be great ... MoreDO NOT BUY!!! This is awful and could be extremely dangerous if they put something in the bottles that could severely hurt you or something that someone was allergic to. After reading other reviews it seems like everyone else has had the same issue and I would think that Walmart would stop allowing this seller to sell to their customers after so many bad reviews but after the weak response I got from customer service I’m actually not surprised sadly.
I have been using this product line for a few years. My hair is very porous and prone to break; however, using this line has helped me have almost waist-length hair. I love the smell, the shampoo does a great job of cleaning my scalp, and the conditioner puts a solid moisturizing base on my hair. Please, if you use this product, keep note of how it smells, and always make a point to inspect the QR codes on each bottle. No two codes are alike. None. If you receive a set of bottles, and the QR codes have all the dots in the same place, you have most likely purchased a counterfeit item. This happened to me this month. The smell was completely off, and the label--while a good copy--was a copy of one label. The QR codes were identical.Be sure to check these points. WalMart can only control its own in-store quality. These outside sellers, though, are free to scam you.
This product was not the real thing. The labels on the front and back were uneven. The product was sealed so tightly I could not pull either side open. I ended up having to stab a hole through the top. The shampoo was discolored. I shook the bottle but the consistency and smell was not the same. I have used the real product ordered directly from Olaplex and this was the not the same. I read the reviews and knew I bought a fake.
I'm a big fan of Olaplex shampoo. Originally I bought the pre-wash conditioning treatments, but I've discovered the shampoo and conditioner are a far easier and effective way to keep my hair smooth and healthy. I'm 59 and have long, colour-treated hair, so this is a real test for the product! I never thought I could have long hair at this age because using my previous shampoos and conditioners it would have been dry and frizzy at this length. Olaplex has transformed it - my hairdresser tells me the ends of my hair aren't noticeably porous, which is amazing at my age.It has also changed how often I wash my hair - it used to be every other day, but now I go 3 days between washes. After ordering and loving the Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil, I could hardly wait to try the shampoo and conditioner combo pack…But boy was I disappointed. I immediately noticed the products smelled bad. At first whiff there was a strong artificial fruity smell with an underlying note of something rotten. But I was still hopeful that maybe the products I would redeem themselves once I used them. They did not. The shampoo left my hair feeling like straw and the conditioner had absolutely no benefit whatsoever and was essentially nothing more than waxy goo. Which leaves me to think the products I received were not the real deal or this is the worst shampoo/conditioner that I way over paid for…
