Unlike most Vitamin C serums, you actually have THREE types in here: Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ascorbic Acid and Calcium Ascorbate. There's also Vitamin C in secondary form in ingredients such as Orange fruit extract and Rosa Canina fruit extract. The first thing that caught my eye was the change in packaging, which thankfully takes into account the instability of Vitamin C, making it more difficult to oxidize. Now...for most skin types, a serum wouldn't normally be moisturizing enough to use on its own, however I find this to be sufficient for my oily skin type, outside of winter season, without the need to apply any moisturizer over it - most of the time. I use one squirt of this every morning, followed by SPF and foundation. It does go on a bit tacky but soon ... There was a noticeable glow right from the very first use, and it did reduce minor acne marks. But I have to admit there's better formulations out there, and this one at 15% concentration, although good for discolorations and brightening, is not the best for collagen production. I would suggest opting for 20% for that. Also it's never ideal when 'perfume' features higher on the ingredients list! And be sure to keep the bottle out of sunlight, otherwise that's over $50 dollars of oxidized product down the drain and of little benefit to your skin or your wallet!~ My Sephora Top 7 must-have list ~(My top 7 must-have beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Sephora)1. Here's a review of Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: "Ole Henriksen Truth Serum contains vitamin C, which brightens and helps reduce signs of aging. It also has collagen, aloe, and green tea extracts. However, it contains synthetic fragrances, which may cause irritation ¹. It's effective but pricey and not suitable for those with sensitive skin ². The packaging is nice but dispenses too much product, making it hard to use ³. Overall, it's a decent product but may not be worth the price."

I have very sensitive skin, so I'm pretty careful with the products I try and continue to use. Vitamin C serums have been tricky for me. I like the brightening effects, but they tend to make me break out or are irritating to my skin. I picked this up years ago and found it worked ok if I alternate days with my other serums. I've kept it in rotation ever since. I didn't realize how well it worked until I ran out about a month ago. I didn't replace the bottle right away and after a while, my skin became dull and dry. New bottle on the way!

Truth Serum by Ole Henriksen was unfortunately very underwhelming for me. I know there are a lot of rave reviews on this Vitamin C serum, but after 1 bottle, I didn’t experience any drastic improvements or beneficial changes to my skin to continue incorporating this serum into my skin-care routine. I have used Vitamin C serums for close to 12 years and this has been by far the least beneficial for my skin type. Although I did experience a “plumping” effect, some smoothing of texture, and a slight brightening of skin tone, the results were not impressive enough to make me want to repurchase this product.
I bought this product almost 2 months ago and as you can see from this photo, I've used half of it. I'm not just using it on my face however. I found that it brightens and firms your elbows, as well as your face, neck, and decollege. It has a bright, invigorating orange scent that helps wake you up in the mornings. I've been using it night and day and have noticed a difference in the tone, brightness, and how much firmer my skin has become over these 2 months. It has a very thin gel consistency, so when I say you don't need to apply much to see results, you really do not. I use a tiny drop on each cheek that blends across my chin and upper lip and 2 tiny drops for my forehead and nose. Then, 2 small drops for my neck and decollege and the same for both elbows that ... Then, 2 small drops for my neck and decollege and the same for both elbows that extends along my forearms and tops of my hands. I wait for all of this to sink in and apply a moisturizer. I was not expecting these kinds of results, but I'm 48 and trying all the skincare to slow down the aging process. Started noticing results almost 2 weeks into using this product, after a month realized my elbows looked great, and my fine lines were not there. Even my dermatologist said something to me bc I had asked about botox. I am applying in the morning and at night with a heavy moisturizer at night and sunscreen during the day. Will I purchase again? Heck yes!
I became acquainted with the Ole Henriksen brand and this product about six months ago. I was attracted by the bright packaging and the vitamin C content, as well as the opportunity to purchase a set of three miniatures at a reasonable price. Well, out of the three products, something should be suitable. The packaging is cheerful in color, and despite the fact that it is a miniature, it is equipped with a convenient dispenser, unlike other well-known brands. Also, the pump, in comparison with the pipette, prevents the oxidation of vitamin C upon contact with air. It is still advisable to store the bottle in a cabinet (since it is transparent, and you should avoid exposure to light), again for the benefit of vitamin C. Although here the manufacturer used a little trick and made the serum orange, which makes it impossible to determine whether oxidation has occurred. But let's hope that the serum will serve us faithfully to the last drop. The consistency of the serum is non-greasy, gel-like, and is absorbed within a few minutes. The smell is pronounced citrus. And despite the fact that I’m not a fan of strong fragrances, I liked this aroma, it invigorates me in the morning and lifts my spirits. And the process of applying the care turns into pure pleasure. I have combination skin 20+ and my impressions of using Truth Serum are very positive. The serum is quickly absorbed without leaving an oily sheen, but at the same time beautifully illuminating the skin. Evens out the tone, reduces the visibility of pores, the skin looks well-groomed and rested. Of course, you shouldn’t expect miracles, and if you have obvious age-related changes, then it’s better to choose a different care. For me personally, the product is good and effective, and it is likely that I will purchase it again in the future.
I was SO excited to try this serum, as I always see it on the list of best Vitamins C products. While it was good, it did fall short to the hype. The pros: The smell is AMAZING! I love the fresh oranges scent, it smells clean and the fragrance does not negatively affect my skin. It is also very effective and I noticed my fine lines and spots faded considerably. The cons: Maybe I got a bad batch, but it was super watery. Just a tiny bit thicker than water. I feel like I went through the product super fast since the pump dispensed it so quickly, it lasted around a month with daily use. I liked it, but for the price. I much prefer Summer Fridays CC Me and Naturium Vitamin C serum.
This was my 2nd purchase of Truth Serum. I loved my first purchase, the nice orange scent, how it easily absorbed into my skin, and, most importantly, how it made my skin look and feel. I eagerly looked forward to receiving my 2nd bottle, only to be disappointed when I noticed the 2nd bottle lacked the orange scent, thicker viscosity, and didn’t absorb into my skin as nicely. OH has a good return policy so I returned my bottle. I’m now waiting for a new 2nd bottle and hoping my 1st bottle wasn’t the anomaly. Fingers crossed.
This is a good product but not amazing by any means. It works. It does the job. My peeve with it is that I purchased what looked like a large bottle, that’s how I justified spending $60. I got to The end of the bottle where nothing else was coming out, so I took the top off only to realize that there’s another container inside the orange bottle which is less than half the size of the bottle itself. So in other words, the product you’re receiving is about a quarter of the size of the bottle. their package is super deceiving and for that reason, I won’t be purchasing this again.
Hi, combination dry/oily late twenties skin here!I'm on my third or fourth bottle now. It's the first step in my morning routine, after cleansing. It sits SO WELL under makeup because it absorbs so quickly with literally zero residue. Feels like nothing but my skin is instantly plumper?! Makes my skin feel hydrated and glowy. It's definitely helped improved overall appearance. A little goes a long way, like a half a pump covers my whole face and neck if I work quickly enough before it absorbs. Love love love. Its also led me to try his new peptide lip balms/glosses and I'm obsessed with those now, too! Def buy when theres a sale or 10x the points. Baby, its the truth! xx
