Light weight and powerful. I got this saw with new 4ah HD batteries. I've used the same battery [on one charge] to weedwack twice, and then cut a plethora of deck wood. The saw itself has managed deck wood up to 2 inches thick without any struggles at all. The battery is just now down to one "dot" after a couple weeks of intermittent use. In short, I am loving this saw.. it's powerful for its size, efficient on battery and easy to use.

I use this saw quite a bit and I love it. I put a new Dewalt blade on it and it cuts great. I've used it on my tract saw to rip plywood, to cut treated lumber and even quite a bit of 2"x6" oak and I've yet to have a problem. I had thr older brushed model previously and it would was okay but I still grabbed the corded saw more often but not anymore. I went with the 6.5" because I figured it would have more power and mostly cutting nothing more then 1.5" or 2.25" thick material it's all I need.

I don't know if I'll ever use my corded circular saw again. This saw is so easy to use. It is light and very capable. I've had it for 6 months now and have used it to cut a 1" thick Maple tabletop and 2x8 pressure treated joists with a 45-degree bevel. The bevel cut taxed it pretty good because the wood was really wet, but it made it through it. I like the soft start and ease of use. This saw has exceeded my expectations.

Surprisingly Powerful

This is my go-to circular saw for quick framing or demo jobs. It’s taken a beating for almost a year now and it’s still running as strong as when I first bought it. Every time I bring it out to a jobsite, my crewmates can’t fight the temptation to grab it before reaching for the other colors we have. It’s comfortable, lightweight, cuts straight, and affordable enough that I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one if anything were to happen to it. Highly recommended

Brand new and will not cut 2x4's. Not strong enough to cut through. Keeps getting stuck and stopping. Brand new saw and blade. Also having similiar problems with ryobi sawzall. Batteries are fully charged, these just have no umph. Also have a new ryobi gas leaf blower that will not run for more than 5 minutes a day. Not impressed with ryobi equipment. Done with ryobi. Would not recommend.

New DIYer and homeowner. I started out with a pair of circular saws that I got used or free, thinking I wouldn't rely on this tool very much. But I was very wrong, and my 14amp 7-1/4" and my 18V 5-1/2" have seen lots of action. While I'm very confident that the corded saw could do anything that I'd ever need it to, I ended up reaching for this old crusty 5-1/2" saw more often. Why plug something in or even have to run an extension cord when I just need to make two cuts through a 2x4? Why not take the refuse trim out to the driveway to break it down for disposal? Cordless is great. But that 5-1/2" saw lacks power, and can BARELY handle 2x material. This saw splits the difference. It can still potentially bog down, but is far stronger than the 5-1/2". [Rewarded Review] Compact and lightweight saw that cuts fast

The first thing I noticed was how light this saw is compared to my corded Hypoid saw. The saw has an adjustable depth gauge that can cut up to 2-1/4 in. deep at zero degrees bevel. The saw can bevel the blade from zero to fifty degrees. At 45 degrees bevel, the saw has a cutting depth of 1-9/16 in.I installed the RYOBI 24 tooth blade that came with this saw using the stored onboard 5mm hex key. The next thing I did was check the bevel of the blade. I always do this with my saws when installing or changing a saw blade. The zero-degree mark on the bevel gauge was off. To get the blade at 90 degrees to the saw base or zero bevel, I had to adjust the bevel gauge so zero degrees is about 1/8 in below zero on the bevel gauge. (See Image Below) The manual calls for adjusting the bevel adjustment screw using a 2.5 mm hex key, but that is wrong, I had to use a 2mm hex key to the adjust the screw. (RYOBI should update their Operator’s Manual)This isn’t a big issue, but I will have to manually set the bevel every time I want to cut at different angles.I made test cuts using a fully charged 2Ah battery. I was able to cut through 2x4’s and a variety of 1x stock without any trouble. The handle is covered with a texture surface to provide a secure grip. If you have a lot of material to cut, you will want to use a 4Ah battery. There is a small LED work light at the front of the saw body that shines on the saw base, and a vacuum dust adaptor attachment. The lower blade guard is made from translucent plastic. (Helps with the weight of the saw)Instead of a vacuum dust attachment, I would like to see RYOBI include an Edge Guide which is optional.Overall, I like this saw. There seems to be a variety of 6.5 inch saw blades available so you aren’t using the 24-tooth blade from RYOBI to cut everything. With a diameter of only 6.5 inches, it will limit how deep you can cut on an angle. I will reach for this saw when I have a few cuts to make and I don’t want to drag out my very heavy corded Hypoid saw.

While I have a bigger corded circular saw I find that sometimes it is a bit of an overkill for my smaller jobs and projects. Other times I am just too lazy to lug it out for a little cut. With this being said I opted to get a smaller one. I realized the Ryobi had come out with a 6-1/2 inch cordless compact that was not only brushless but part of the 18v one+ HP system. I have several other Ryobi tools so I have plenty of batteries for them and this saw takes the same one. I opted to get the tool only version since I did not need extra batteries. This one operates at 4900 RPM and according to Ryobi is 32% faster cutting. I like that the depth gauge is adjustable up to 2-1/4 inches. Also that unlike my other saw it has a bevel angle of 0 to 50 degrees instead of the standard 45. I got all my cuts done without a battery change. It does seem powerful enough to handle anything I have asked about it without issue. I tested it out by doing the one set of steps for our deck and two sets of handrails. It did not even get warm on me so that is nice. I did notice that when I let go of the trigger it stops really quickly which is good. The overall weight and size of it is good and not cumbersome at all. However the size of the battery you use may change this I was using a smaller one. I think the aluminum base has some to do with this. I am loving the freedom to move around and cut wherever I choose without the limitations of a cord or having to drag out an extension cord. It really does make me wonder why I waited so long to get one! It does come with a blade that once you install as long as you have a charged battery on hand your ready to go within minutes of opening it. There is also an included attachment to hook to a shop vac but I didn't use it. The only real drawback I found is that there did not seem to be a wide variety of replacement blades available. Overall I am pretty happy with it.

This model PSBCS01 is tool only – no battery included. I currently have 5 of the 18V One+ system Ryobi tools. This circular saw makes number 6. I already have three 18 V 3Ah batteries and charger. The batteries power all 6 tools. This circular saw is brushless and uses a 6 ½ in blade with a 5/8 in arbor. The saw comes with an “on board” stored Allen Wrench for blade changing. The process for blade changing is simple and easy. The saw is powerful and does most everything that a corded saw does. I tested it initially on 2 X 4s and the saw cut smoothly and quickly with little effort. It has an on-board LED light to illuminate the cutting area. There is a “lock off” safety button on the handle above the switch trigger and must be depressed before the saw will operate. ... MoreThis model PSBCS01 is tool only – no battery included. The saw also comes with a vacuum attachment which can be attached when using a dust collection vacuum with a hose of 1 ¼ in or 1 7/8 in. The attachment must be removed when not using a vacuum. I have one negative comment about the vacuum attachment. The attaching screw has a T-10 star type head rather than the more common Phillips type. This was annoying as I had to locate my star bits. So I may consider finding a compatible Phillips replacement screw. Ryobi says that the full battery charge will provide up to 350 cuts. In my experience the optimal “up to” number is more realistically reduced by about half. I have not abandoned all of my corded tools which still come in handy for large projects, but am relying more on the convenience and portability of the battery powered tools. This Ryobi saw is a great addition to my 18V tool collection.

I got one of these with a combo kit and didn't expect allot, but oh my, It zips through PT 2x4s with ease. Great for privacy fence and gate work. Couple it with the great Ryobi impact driver/drill and there is really no limit to the length of screws you can drive withouy a pilot hole. The blade it comes with is perfect for cutting 2x4s without hardly any tear out on the upside. Recommend taking advantage of the combo battery charger, battery deals for spare batteries.
