great knife nice and big. bought it for the motorhome as i am sick of my knives getting blunt from rattling around in the draws

Big knife very sharp fine blade as with all opinels, great for carving meat and cutting large vegetables, a bit impractical for every day use but interesting any way. Also nice to add to knife collection as talking point

A really good knife.

Yes it's huge, and arrived crazy sharp. But it's not an every day use knife, but it's still very cool. If I lost it some how, I'd not hesitate to buy another one.

An Opinel the size of I don't know what!!

I will be honest, I did not buy this for the quality (which is awesome, I have carried #6 for years) and I did not buy it for any honest application I have for it. I bought because a friend's daughter and her husband are chefs (professional not self proclaimed) who like to go boating and camping and so here we are...the ultimate portable chef's knife!! LOL they loved the joke and they love the knife. The have, in fat, already used it!

Dr Jekyl Mr Machete

Although called by some a "joke" or "novelty" this is a high quality fully functional super-knife. Made of excellent Sandvik steel it resist corrosion well holds an edge well will rarely chip and can be made literally razor sharp as this is a high purity razor steel. The locking mechanism is very very strong, very very simple and other than speed of deployment you cannot ask for more of a nine inch blade which folds securely to ride in your pocket. Can work easily as a light machete but also has the finesse of a much smaller blade when you choke up on the handle. Good value for the money.

Not much more to say really. Typically French, no nonsense design, highly functional and quite good value for what you pay. Unless you're familiar with the 'Brand' perhaps a brief diagram might be attached, in order to show how the blade may be locked safely into place.

Thats a knife!

With a blade 22cms ,thats more than most bread knives.Add to it an even longer handle and its as much a sword as knife,nearl half a metre unfolded!Lovely beech handle into which the ultra sharp blade folds.It has the look and feel of something rustic,from the forest or mountains,which coming from Savoie,it of course is.Somthing unique in todays urban hi tech world.

The Giant

This knife is huge, it's more a folding machete with a 22cm blade. The usual Opinel quality, tough, razor sharp, holds edge well. It has their simple yet excellent locking system, twist a ring to lock and unlock. An old peasant knife design made in France that still works well, beautiful in it's simplicity. There are some clips on YouTube which show just how big and tough this French folder is.
