I tell the both of them all of the time how their late brother would have loved these breakfast/dinner dishes just as much. Yes, I talk to my deaf dog. Ever since she came into my life at 8 weeks. Haha. But I also love how the both of them get compliments on their fur looking so nice all of the time.

I recently read more about the DCM and the FDA investigation and found that a determination was made that DCM could not be linked to grain-free foods. I switched back to Orijen a couple weeks ago and the problem disappeared. Ike's poops are firm again and he is much easier to clean up after. It may sound like a crazy reason to recommend a dog food but when you are picking up tootsie rolls instead of messy soft-serve three times a day it makes a big difference! Ike and I both love Orijen Original and recommend it.

Whilst she did eat full bowls of it, she would go 3 days periods and just ignored the food. I changed back to Orijen Original, I fed the first bowl and she ate it immediately without hesitation. Knowing she had just eaten I put a second bowl down thinking she would eat again when hungry, once again she immediately consumed the whole bowl. Seeing this reaction is a great indication of her approval, as she is picky over treats and food samples which have not been Orijen in the past. Her energy level and glossy coat with Orijen is a testament to the appeal and quality of the product and why although I tried to vary flavor is why I'm sticking with Orijen.

I have been feeding Regional Red for nearly two years now to our three dogs. Our oldest is a 17 yo Fox Terrier mix and has had cancer for three years. Initially we opted for surgery, having been told it’s an extremely aggressive cancer and surgery would only give us about six months before the cancer grew back and killed her. The cancer came back as predicted, but our little senior citizen has been living with it since 2019 (it’s 2022) and even though the tumor is HUGE and inoperable, she acts like a happy camper every day. She was an adult and nearly dead when we got her, and was so filthy it was hard to tell what kind of dog she is, what with the dirt, blood, and staining. She’s now as white as snow and never has eye or mouth stains. Again, quality food. She still battles allergies and I’m convinced that had we gotten her as a puppy, she would have far better health. — Our third is a Morkey who is extremely healthy and has never had a bad day. They all love the RR and after decades of having dogs, I will never switch food brands again.

Interesting Experience

I tried this stuff out for 3 weeks. My cat usually has fresh pet brand food (the ones without carrageenan, avoid that for both yourself and your pet) but decided to try this as I can buy it in bulk and the food choices are solid for optimal cat health. Unfortunately this made my cats stool extremely smelly and messy. At first I thought it might be a transitional thing and I started off slow mixing it with his old food before making it his main dish but his stool still continued to get all over his tail and back leg accompanied by a very strong smell that filled the room. Finally, he has started developing a weird blister like sore on his mouth. Based on my research he seems to be having a possible allergic reaction and I can only assume it’s the food. If you’re stumped about what to feed your dog, then you may want to give this a try. I’ve switched my dog’s food several times for various reasons, but have always come back to this one. I have a large breed dog who’s prone to dry skin and joint issues. For cost reasons, I began experimenting with cheaper brands. The ingredients weren’t as good as Origen, but they were satisfactory IMO. Well, first, his coat changed. It wasn’t as shiny and smooth. Then, he developed dandruff. Dry little flakes all over his beautiful black coat. The final straw was the limp. He began limping. A quick trip the vet let me know he had a sprain. He’s a large dog who likes to play rough. He’s a large dog who likes to play rough. I knew this and yet gambled with his nutrition in order to save a few bucks, and he was the one suffering because of it. I left the vet feeling horrible, and immediately went to Petco and picked up Orijen. I ordered a leg brace for the sprain, a great Omega-3 supplement, and some bone broth. Needless to say, about a month in, and his coat is back to looking shiny, glossy, and beautiful. After a good grooming, the “dandruff” has not returned. And his mobility during therapy for his leg has improved 10 fold. This brand is worth every cent. If I need to make a substitution, it will be with the sister brand (Adana) only. Watching him jump, play, and glistening in the sun is worth it. Your best friend deserves the best you can buy, and Orijen is the best.

I was having troubles with my dogs allergies and trying to find her food she would actually eat or even have a sniff of . I tried every brand possible til I came across regional red . She refuses to eat anything else . She still has mild allergies to it because of the fish in the ingredients . If there was another kind that could be recommended with no chicken or fish in the ingredients and no potato or sweet potato or rice or grains that would be greatly appreciated . It would be amazing if it was a bit more affordable to others who can't afford the prices as well as I have recommended this food to others but they simply can't afford the cost with how pricey the economy is these days unfortunately !!!

My dogs LOVE IT!

I made a huge mistake with my dogs about a year ago, which is that I left them with a friend whom I trusted to watch them until we could get our house closed. It was ridiculous to try to live with all five in an apartment and it was less than a month. They all came back to me skinny and covered with lice and fleas. We put them in an expensive kennel and while we got the infestations cleaned up, we could not get weight put back on them. They barely ate any food presented to them. We had previously lived on a ranch, and I was feeding a different premium brand. They would not eat this brand once we got everyone back together in the new home in Arkansas, not sure if it was a different formula down here or what the issue was. They went for days without anyone touching their food. The vet tested them a lot of things, including worms. We could not find any health problems besides the obvious, they were underweight and not eating. Now I have a master's degree in psychology, maybe I default to looking at behavioral reasons, but I do believe that animals have emotions too. I think that living in three different homes and being away from mom and dad induced some problems in them. There is also a huge heat and humidity difference between Colorado and the new home in Arkansas. Enter Orijen. I was so distraught about my pets refusing to eat that I went to Petco and bought a bag of several seemingly good dog foods. I filled five bowls and sat and waited. I know that is against recommendations for switching dog foods, but what could I do? The Orijen Regional Red bowl was emptied immediately. All of the other bowls, include Orijen Original and Tundra, sat untouched. I did this for almost a week. Every single dog hand-picked this food. They would rather lick the empty bowl that had Regional Red in it than eat a full bowl of the other brands offered. That sealed it for me. I still occasionally try to mix it up, but they really are not interested in alternative proteins. Here are a few pictures of Roper, he was the thinnest and most affected. He is so glossy, healthy, active and smart! This to me is a sign of good health, if my horses and dogs are shiny, I am a happy mom. Since I am allergic to fish, I wish there was a brand available without fish, but I can live with that. It is expensive but aren't our babies worth it?

We have three purebred Border Collies, a Lab mix and a Belgian Malinois. They are all very active and smart. When I moved from Arkansas to Colorado, we had to leave three of our dogs in Texas with a friend and although she did her best to care for them, they all lost weight. I had a really hard time trying to get weight back on them, trying all sorts of toppers and really expensive custom foods that they would just turn their noses up to. My dogs decided, Regional Red it is, with an occasional Original to mix up the proteins. They are all back to healthy weight, and everyone remarks on how healthy and shiny they are. I love the philosophy of feeding whole prey, that they are getting organs and meat from a variety of species. I love that they are getting pulses and no grains, and pumpkin! I have done my research, this is by far the best food you can feed your dog. Yes, it is expensive, but my babies are worth it. You can see how shiny Roper is, they all look wonderful. I am truly grateful and happy that my research project worked out. They all say, THANK YOU! Love, Rosie, Blaze, Shadeaux, Dooley and Roper

To the rescue!
9 July 2022

My Rottweiler had developed a serious skin irritation, causing her to scratch, bite herself and lick her paws. She was covered in scar tissue and lost a considerable amount of fur. She also refused to eat; causing her to become frightfully thin. We thought she might have been poisoned, but when, out of desperation, we began feeding her a gourmet canned food, she ate heartily. That's when we figured it was her diet. I knew that Orijen was the best dry dog food in the world, so I ordered a bag. My dog loved it! Her bald spots are beginning to fill back in and her fur looks luxurious. She has stopped licking her paws, scratching and biting herself incessantly, and she has started gaining weight. Thanks to Orijen, our little bear is doing much better.
