I would give this food 10 out of 10 stars if I could! I was skeptical because of the price tag, but then I did some research on how this food is made, the wholesome ingredients included and I soon realized why my dog actually wanted it.If you can afford this food you cannot go wrong with it! My dog tracks deer during hunting season, so the tundra option was obviously my first choice. I used to have to "doctor" her food with toppers and such, in order for her to eat it because as a travel nurse kibble is the only feasible option for me. I would do raw if I could, but I don't have the storage for it.To have a dog who is excited to finally eat is such a reward. What you said your dog truly does matter, just as much as what you feed yourself. I am so grateful that ... MoreI would give this food 10 out of 10 stars if I could! This kibble smells just like it's advertised - lots of real food! Be careful though, it's a lot to digest. I'm still working on transitioning, she's only 22 months, she couldn't handle the puppy version, but maybe the good stuff will be good for her now. Tundra seems great kibble. Notably, it's extremely high protein and multiple ingredients, so it's not a simple transition even though we're working off of Wellness Core Wholesome Grains Original Recipe High Protein. I included the grains because she seemed to need them. Nonetheless, she isn't thriving on it. I'm looking for kibble that she does thrive on. Three stars only coz we haven't transitioned totally, and stools have been still often looser than I would like, but I have high hopes. I have been switching the foods I feed our pups every 4 to 6 months or so. I have been doing this since I really don't trust much of the dog food industry. We have 2 French bulldogs Who are very much food driven. I must say that I am very pleased with my pups on this food. When I have tried to switch their diets previously to some kibble products they are usually interested in it for a couple of weeks and then after that they have no interest in it. This has not been the case with tundra and they are actually very happy when I give it to them and it has been about 8 weeks now on this new diet. Their teeth are healthy and their coats are nice and silky on it. I have had poor experiences with other food where their nails and coats were dry and brittle. Their teeth are healthy and their coats are nice and silky on it. I have had poor experiences with other food where their nails and coats were dry and brittle. I have found the opposite with this food which is a relief. They are a bit gassy on it but they are frenchies and that is a tough problem to fix. For some reason I think it's the beans and the peas in certain kibbles that cause them to be gassy. They certainly aren't bothered by it and their stools are great! I am going to try a slow feeder with them to see if that helps at all. The main reason that I purchase this food is that I really love the ingredient profile being mostly protein. The protein list goes on and on and on at the top of the list. What really caught my eye was that there were actually organ meats added to this. That made me extremely happy. This food contains much more protein than other foods on the market hence the price. To me worth spending a little extra for the longevity of my pups of you can spare it. I also do cook for my pups and actually they were on homemade dog food prior to thus but I needed to take a break as it is alot of work. They have been on this food strictly for 2 months which is a sufficient amount of time to post this review. I will likely go back to homemade dog food when I have some more time but it's nice knowing that when I can't do that they can rely on this option. I also think kibble is great for their oral health so i will always do at least some of that throughout the week.

I have 6 pocket bullies. Mom, Dad and I kept 4 puppies. I fed Orijen Puppy food to Mom and Dad when they were puppies and now feed it to their puppies. They love it and are very healthy. Mom and Dad eat Orijen adult original food. I wish they sold a larger bag than 23.5lbs. but until then Im stuck buying 2 bags at a time. It is pricy at $95 a bag but do research and Origen is always one of the top foods and your babies will love it. No 1 company can make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time. I do highly recommend this food.
As others have said, the ingredients have changed. I bought this initially to try on my cat who has had chronic gastrointestinal allergies. I had tried many diets with no success. I originally decided to try this bc of the minimal poultry ingredients. Much to my relief, it made my cats symptoms a lot better. Without going into detail, trust me when I say they were extreme. She’s been on tundra for the past year and just started her first (and last) bag of it. Her allergies have steadily returned which I can only equate to the new formula. steadily returning I believe bc of the change of formula. I’m readily upset about the whole thing and feel bad that my cat, after being in relief is now once again in discomfort. Now I’m on the hunt again for a new food. I combined this with the wet food of the same kind, as a topper. I weaned them into the new food and both my dogs really went for it when it got to 100 percent Tundra. That lasted for about 2 days and now they kind of put their nose up at it. One eats the wet food topper and a bit of the dry and the other nibbles a bit and leaves it for several hours before returning and nibbling some more. It has only been a week and a half so I am going to give it a bit more time, maybe trying half wet and half dry instead of one quarter to three quarters. It is TOO expensive to feed this if I am throwing away a good portion.I was am hoping this turns around, I just want something they will eat well and is good for them, without costing an arm and a leg.
Switched from Purina pro plan to a better-quality brand and it did not go well. My golden started having diarrhea which turned into liquid diarrhea. She also got dehydrated and so it ended up costing me 2k in vet bills. Now her GI is messed up and I am out the money for this brand. I am guessing it is the ingredients, but I won't be purchasing again and will have to find another one that doesn't screw up my dogs GI tract. I would say this isn't for every dog and mine was one of them.
I can't say enough about the positive benefits of the Tundra diet for our 1yo lab. Sure, he doesn't have great breath, but that's really the only drawback. He was running pretty lean on the recommended portions, so we just increased the amount to put a little more meat on him (we dial it back in the winter). His skin and coat are gorgeous on this diet. We tried switching to the Orijen Original diet ($35 cheaper, still very high quality), but his skin dried up within weeks and his coat was rougher. So we're back to Tundra - our Chuck is worth it!
My dog Elwood has never been a picky eater. He'll gobble down pretty much whatever you put in front of him. He tips the scales around 110 - 115 pounds. I've always controlled his portions and never fed him any people food. After a few years of eating a different brand of kibble he started having some stomach problems. Twice I had to stop his regular food and put him on a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice to help get his stomach under control. After doing extensive research and speaking with his vet, I became aware that Orijen is the premium dry kibble brand available. I decided to put him on the Tundra blend to see if it helped his stomach. I will note that his kibble is stored in an air tight container.I've been truly impressed. Upon opening the bag and transferring it to the air tight container, Orijen actually smells like the food it is supposed to contain. The Tundra blend specifically smells like fish. What a difference it has made. There was no distress swapping from one food to another, even with vastly different protein bases. Not only has he slimmed down a little bit but his stomach problems have disappeared completely. On top of all of that, he seems to enjoy Orijen Tundra far more than his old kibble. He was always excited for meal time, but now while I'm measuring out his food, he stands next to me and drools on my feet.I cannot say enough good about this kibble. If you are on the fence about price, I understand. Elwood is a big dog who goes through a 25 pound bag each month, and this kibble is nearly three times the price of his previous brand. All I will say is it's worth it. Try a small bag as a meal topper and see how your pet reacts. I want Elwood to be happy and healthy and I think he deserves a more premium food.
My basset hound has only ever been on two dry kibbles. Since I got him as a pup he was on Orijen large breed kibble which he loved and it allowed him to fill out nicely and be so lean. So many people are surprised when they see him so active and fit as most basset hounds are extremely overweight. Once he was ready to transition to adult kibble I actually tried switching him to Essence (which he also loved but he was getting some bad reactions to it, a lovely brand just not the right fit for my pup). When I put back on Orijen everything cleared. He LOVES the Tundra kibble. It does smell a little fishy but as long as you have it in a container with a lid it isn’t an issue. He gets 2 cups a day and the first time he tried it he was begging for more. Had probably ate ... MoreMy basset hound has only ever been on two dry kibbles.
