This tool has the right idea, but I believe it needs to be sturdier. It is awkward to handle if you have arthritic hands. The vegetable would never be held by its holder. Additionally, I needed it to cut the vegetables into thicker slices. The slices were too thin even at the highest setting. Maybe better for someone without arthritis. Love OXO products, but this one did not work out for me.

The more I used the mandolin, the harder it was to use. After cutting me thumb for the second time, I realized the blade had nicks in it. The only thing i have used on the mandolin was regular potatoes and sweet potatoes. The last time I used the mandolin, it started cutting the holder and putting slivers of plastic into my potatoes. Returning product for a refund. I’ve only had it a few months. I do not recommend.

We had a different mandoline but it was bulky and not as user friendly. This one is so compact and easy to use. It stores in a very small space and makes perfect slices. Once again OXO has made an excellent product! Only improvement would be if the vegetable holder actually pierced the vegetables to hold them more securely.

Excellent at slicing hard to semi hard veg with ½mm increments. Not so good on softer fruit and veg like very ripe tomatoes. Overall though, great quality and very handy.
This is a great little kitchen gadget, so helpful and easy to use. It is quite sharp and cuts through everything. I love how I can adjust the cutting width and then lock it up when finished.
I love my Mandoline. I love to cook and it assists me to create my meals. It slices the most perfect vegetables and fillets of meat along with adding to a beautiful presentation for many dishes.
Looked at several affordable mandolines. Decided to go with this OXO one due to their reputation. Hoping it holds up and doesn't fall apart after a few uses. So far so good. Definitely go for the adjustable model - I slice vegetables as well as chicken for jerky and they need very different thicknesses. The "holder" keeps your fingers away from the blade. Pop it in the dishwasher - seems like an ideal kitchen tool.
I do cooking every day for many years. I never thought an item with this price and this simplicity would even work.Believe me, this is the best slicer in its price range I ever had - I use it almost every day. Washing and cleaning and storing it, just a breezzzzz. I wish they had some replaceable blade.I recommend it highlyPS: I found the staff the most friendly people in trade - they are from Union City, NJ where I used to work when America was a better America.
I have used the Good Grips peelers and other products, so when I purchased this, I was expecting it to be a quality product. It definitely lived up to my expectations. It is very easy to use, and is versatile in its use, (It’s blades are sharp, so be careful!) but most importantly, it is so easy to clean and store. It’s just a great, no fuss, easy use tool that has fast become a favourite.
Have a larger mandoline and use it for larger volume of prep--but it's not practical when doing day to day portions . This takes up less storage, easy and quick to clean. Very sharp, has a holder to protect hand while slicing. Blade is adjustable from very thin to thicker and option of hidden for safety. It is sturdy while using. Perfect for cukes or zucchini plus other veggies. Liked this wider version and the staff at BB&B was SO helpful in finding it and offering to order and have it shipped. to me!
