Got what I paid for!

It is cheap, that's for sure. If I hadn't left my Makita 80km away, I would not have bought this. The base plate is pretty weak and not parallel to the blade axis. The angles are not consistent or reliable because the hardware is weak. Even the depth securing bolt is flimsy for such a heavy item. The fence guide position is poorly fixed, flopping all over the place. Don't expect to do anything accurate with this or pass it on to your kids when you die.

Not A Great Saw

I purchased this 3 weeks ago and now wish I had spent the extra $90 and bought a Makita. The main problem is the flimsy bed plate, the whole thing flexes with pressure. For example, you set the blade at 90 degrees to the bed plate and start your cut and by the time you have got to the end of a thick piece of timber the cut is now at 85 degrees as your gentle push pressure increases with the cut. It all pivots on a small screw and bolt, very poor design. The laser guide is near useless unless you are in medium to low light. In full sunlight or a bright conditions forget it.The soft start is pretty rough but works.the cutting blade that comes with it is average in the finished cut also.Honestly buy something better.

The saw has plenty of power and works well my only Reserve is the weight of the product OK

Plenty of power, large depth of cut.

This large capacity saw has plenty of grunt, and is suitable for a variety of basic tasks around home, like non critical cuts say through sleepers or firewood or demolition work. But it has no positive stops or detents for accurate 90 or 45 degree cuts, despite setting it to 90 it does not have secure front and rear blade angle locks, and motor weight helps sag the blade angle so your cuts can’t hold a 90. No blade brake, no soft start, no tool-less blade change, no-on board tool storage, no dust extraction hose port, so ensure you cut outside. A saw for basic work, just not for any quality final trimming jobs. This is a larger saw with weight, so not suitable for a beginner or a smaller hand, some experience with this size saw would be preferable, so if you simply ... MoreThis large capacity saw has plenty of grunt, and is suitable for a variety of basic tasks around home, like non critical cuts say through sleepers or firewood or demolition work. Very good saw, but could be improved
25 February 2023

I purchased this saw for attachment to a Triton workbench and as such, it does a very good job. It has oodles of power and was able to be adjusted to work accurately with the workbench. Being metal construction, the saw is really tough and has stood up to well to constant use in my workshop. There are however a couple of issues with the design of this saw that could be easily fixed by the manufacturer:Firstly, when using the saw free hand, I noticed (as have others), that there is a small degree of flex in the foot, which can allow the blade to vary away from a vertical cut. This is caused by the foot having a large clearance void in the centre and consequently, Ozito should have made the foot with slightly thicker steel to compensate. The second problem is with ... MoreI purchased this saw for attachment to a Triton workbench and as such, it does a very good job. This is caused by the foot having a large clearance void in the centre and consequently, Ozito should have made the foot with slightly thicker steel to compensate. The second problem is with the blade mount, which requires a 25.4mm (1 inch) arbor hole in the blade. When I came to upgrade to a higher quality blade, I found that all high quality blades have an arbor hole of only 25.00 mm. and therefor will not fit on the mount without reaming. The actual difference in the arbor hole size between my Ozito and Makita blades was only 0.3mm, but I still had to get the new blade reamed out to fit, which cost almost as much as the new blade! It would therefore pay Ozito to follow metric, rather than imperial arbor hole sizes for the Australian market.Apart from the above, the saw is fine.

Worst Quality Power Tool I've Ever Bought
6 February 2022

I originally gave this 3 stars, but that was over generous. Now I've had it for a couple of weeks I'm really finding out how truly terrible this saw is, and almost dangerous. The roll back blade cover is poorly shaped and even sharp where the timber is meant to slide it out of the way as you cut. On deep cuts it is just hopeless, digging into the timber and catching every time. It is certainly not fit for purpose, though can be improved with a grinder and file.
