My friend's 5 unit Panasonic land-line phone system began to have increasingly poor reception and call quality. Her "fix" was to replace the hand set batteries with standard AAA alkaline batteries but those failed quickly. After doing online research, I found that the hand sets needed Nickel-hydride rechargeable batteries. The eneloop Panasonic batteries have solved all of the problems. Her phones are now functioning perfectly.

This is my go to battery brand. They work real well and seem to last forever. My only reason to ever buy more is getting more battery powered devices and toys for my grandson, I have been using these batteries for over 10 years and have yet to have one die on me. I had previously tried many other brands over the years and was never satisfied with any of them until I discovered these. I even have given complete battery kits as gifts.

What is going on with AA and AAA battery tech lately? It seems no matter where, or what type (akaline single-use or lithium rechargeable) of batteries I buy, they are almost useless.I tried buying akalines at local drugstores and had to open and inspect five packs of Duracel AA's before I found one that were not already leaking. Then the ones I bought barely lasted. The rechargeables I've been buying from B&H, usually an amazing source of quality supplies, don't hold a charge, and don't last even kept in the charger. It seem you have to place the batteries in a charger just before you want to use them. Then they will only recharge a 4-5 times before the won't recharge anymore. Panasonic quality keeps us connected for longer
10 March 2021

Using these Panasonic batteries to replace the old tired ones in our Panasonic cordless phone handsets. Those were running out of charge quickly during calls, leading to sound distortion and having to swap handsets during longer calls. These batteries are approx 50% higher capacity than the original spec, enabling longer usage before recharge becomes necessary. They keep their charge for longer off the charging units, so we can leave them lying around in convenient places for longer. 4 handsets needing 2 batteries each, so the 8-pack is the ideal one for economic purchase. Spec indicates 2400 recharges possible, old ones approx 1000, so they ought to last in service for more than twice as long as the original batteries. Call clarity seems improved too, it's as if ... MoreUsing these Panasonic batteries to replace the old tired ones in our Panasonic cordless phone handsets. Came ready charged, blurb says they use solar power to do this, so they are seemingly helping us to be a bit green! Fingers crossed they continue to be as reliable as the phones. I'd use them for other applications if/when I get the chance, and can recommend to anyone who needs rechargeables.

Recharge forever?
7 April 2022

I did my research (a few years ago) before buying a new battery charger, so I have a really great charger. That's IMPORTANT if you want these batteries to last practically forever.I've got an Energy 16 Plus charger. It does great.I have NEVER had to throw away one of these Eneloop batteries. I have some that I've been using for YEARS (by which I mean: more than 5 years). I have an older digital camera (high power device), flashlights, etc. These things have never failed to recharge and never failed to function well.Pros:- rechargeable- practically forever (they claim 2,000 recharges, and I have no reason to doubt it)Cons:- quite a bit more expensive than alkaline batteries, but since you can use them over and over and over and over again, they more than ... MoreI did my research (a few years ago) before buying a new battery charger, so I have a really great charger. For devices that draw very little power (like remote control), maybe it's smarter to use cheap alkaline or even cheaper carbon batteries.

The Battery That You Will Not Need To Replace
16 November 2023

I have tried many rechargeable batteries over many years starting with the old Radio Trash ones that barely held a charge after a few recharges. I must have tried eight or ten or so different brands. I have settled on the Panasonic Eneloops because they hold a charge quite well and can be recharged over and over, without fail. Having many devices these days. I have lots of AAAs and AAs. I also use their adapters to turn into a C or D form factor which works quite well. I highly recommend getting the C and D battery adapters.I have some of these batteries that are at least 6 or 7 years old and they still work well. I only need to replace these when my grandson visits and puts the batteries into his devices and takes them home.

Very Disappointed by these NiMH AAA batteries
9 October 2023

I've have used Panasonic NiMH AAA batteries in my Panasonic cordless phones for years. I usually get 5 to 8 years of battery life for them. I recently (October 2020) purchased twenty of the Panasonic Eneloop NiMH AAA batteries to replace those in our cordless phones. Well, as of yesterday, October 8, 2023, eight (8) of the twenty Eneloop batteries have failed. They have failed to charge suddenly in the Panasonic cordless phones. I've tried to recharge pairs of them in a Watson MX NiMH charger without success. I even had three unused Eneloops on hand which failed to charge after never being used. I will not be purchasing the Eneloop batteries in the future.

[Rewarded Review] Excellent product for the right use case
18 October 2024

Excellent product for the right use case. Great for small electronics (remotes), and avoids leakage hazard from alkaline. As advertised holds its charge a long time while on the shelf. Creative charger design accepts both the AA and AAA cells, no adapter needed. Keep in mind there are applications where alkaline should be used instead, such as smoke detectors. Will update the review after I try the AA -> C cell and AA -> D cell adaptor sleeves.

[Rewarded Review] Great for Rechargeable batteries
19 December 2023

I've purchased both the regular eneloop, and the eneloop Pro. Not sure how big of difference yet. While they seem to maybe only hold 50%-75% of charge of a regular high-end battery, the fact that I can recharge them over and over is a huge benefit, both economically, and environmentally. I use these for my Clocks, Flashlights, wireless Lights, Ring Doorbell systems, and electronics Remotes in my home, so always within reach, and not issue for emergency use items, such as a Car flashlight.
