Panasonic SD-R2530 Automatic Breadmaker, with Gluten Free Programme and Nut Dispenser - White

I took delivery of this yesterday to replace my eight year old base model Panasonic Breadmaker. Because my old model was the bottom rung and had a spelt bread setting I foolishly assumed this model, one up from the bottom would. Buyer beware, and I should have checked ( though you do need to scour the info) more carefully. So I'm disappointed with this machine because I use a bread maker for spelt bread. I will use the Rapid Wholemeal setting instead. Feels cheaper made too than my old one.

This was bought as a replacement. Our existing Panasonic breadmaker was nearly 20 years old. It was still working, but the offer was too good to miss. This new machine seems just as good as the old one. I look forward to being able to use it for the next 20 years. The only minor niggle is that "Bleep" is not as loud as on the previous model.

This was bought as a replacement for an old SD253 model which lasted at least 10 years. One issue I have is that my favourite loaf has always been a 50/50 wholemeal/white loaf, which was one of the SD253's 101 recipes. It is not included in the 2530's 27 recipes which seems a backward step. However, I have used the 50/50 recipe in the new model and it worked fine. I imagine the same might apply to the other missing old recipes and would suggest trying them if you are in a similar position - so don't throw out the old instruction book.As others have said, the display is not the easiest to read, but I think I'll get used to it.The instruction book should be proof-read before the next print run to get rid of some annoying errors in the text - or am I being too niggly?
