PanOxyl 10% Acne Foaming Wash 5.5 Ounce ( Value Pack of 2)

I bought this for the benzoyl peroxide in it. I always get pimples under my skin. They would never come to the surface, just stay underneath. They would be sore and have a bump. No matter what I tried I could not get rid of them. I tried treatments and squeezing them, no luck. So I looked online and found a few different products to try for this problem. The only thing that I would like to change about this face wash is that it foams up more. I barely get any foam when I wash my face.

I was trying salycilic acid before this and it was helping but I def saw the real improvement in my skin when I started incorporating this wash in my night routine. It felt immediate too like you can visually see change overnight! My skin is currently dry with acne which makes it very difficult because these acne treatments are all very drying. The wash is supposed to be the gentlest form of benzol peroxide (kills acne causeing bacteria) because you leave on for a couple of minutes and wash off instead of leaving on your face overnight or during the day. If you have sensitive dry skin i def advice introducing this slowly 1-3 times a week and not using a lot of product or irritation will occur. I also wouldn't mix it with a strong salycilic acid or other strong active (i've been using a more gentle SA toner that I can use daily instead of a strong active paired with this) and have seen great results. You don't need the SA you can start with just the benzol peroxide wash and will see better results than with any other active (if you have cystic or inflamed acne. This is my experience). I have not tried a retinoid because of how dry my skin is but honestly I'm so glad I went with this. ITS SOOO AFFORDABLE too and I've been using on my back acne and seeing good results too. If you have oily skin this will be fine with a light moisterizer and spf, if you have dry or sensitive/acne prone def start with the 4% and I reccomend a hydrating serum + moisterizer + spf (in the morning) . Personally, if I don't use a hydrating serum this will leave my skin too dry (even with thick moisterizer) and with a burning sensation. So start slow with little product, only a couple of times a week and make sure you nourish your skin after. I can't wait to see what my skin looks like in a couple of more weeks!

To use benzoyl peroxide wash, you first need to apply water on the skin and rub some face wash on it (except eyes and sensitive areas), leave it on for at least 3-4min then wash it, so the ingredient has some time to work on the skin. Seems to be working for them as well.I mentioned above that for me, there were other factors that helped make this product work better. Those factors are:*Exfoliating/washing before I shave - without doing this, shaving dirty and oily skin seems to lead to more breakouts.*I use a little silicone face scrubber to apply and scrub with the PanOxyl - after shaving -which helps clean follicles and wash away little hairs- it seems to really help avoid ingrown hairs and folliculitis, which has been awful for me at times.

Now I'm not going to over exaggerate about the acne wash, but how can I NOT say it's my hero. Really I went through a few different face washes just hoping the acne constantly reappearing on my forehead would finally go away, but to no avail. Until...I found this product by accident! My sister actually had this product, and I had been staying for a week, and didn't bring my own face wash by accident. Little did I know this facewash was my miracle🤷‍♀️. I had started using it, to remove makeup, and to wash my face in general, and over the week was surprisrd with my results from this random face wash I've never used before. I noticed after not being in routine of using it, my face broke out. Protect your eyes!!!!

The acne fighting power is there however the product is advertised as “foaming”. It does not foam at all. The liquid is runny like a lotion. For this reason the product is much more easier to get in your eyes because the liquid is so lose. I indeed did get it in my eye. Rinsed after and immediately my eye began to water. It’s been 3 days and my eye is still watering excessively, now itching, red and swollen. I am currently at an urgent care center having my eye checked out. USE CAUTION WITH THIS PRODUCT!!! Do everything in your power to not get it in your eye if you decide to use it even at all. I will not be using this product again. The risk is far too great. This product can stain/bleach your towels

So far I really like this acne treatment however I made a huge mistake. My husband uses this for his back acne and I’ve been applying it to his back for him because he can’t reach. After a couple weeks of use I noticed bleach marks on my gray towels. I was puzzled trying to figure out where these bleach marks came from because we don’t use bleach. After a bunch of research I realized it was the ingredients in this acne wash. Totally my fault for not ready the instructions on the back or the indredients it clearly says not to let this come into contact with dyed fabrics. I never imagined it would damage my towels because he uses it in the shower and you figure oh it will just wash down the drown. I've had really bad hormonal acne for my whole life and this is the only poduct that helps keep it under control. I can tell a difference when I stop using it and the breakouts come back. I consider this more of a treatment than a cleanser honestly. I precleanse with a different cleanser to get all the buildup off so this product can penetrate my skin. You're supposed to leave it on for 1-2 minutes so it can kill off bacteria then you wash it off. It does bleach anything it comes into contact with so I would keep that in mind. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and have bouts of hormonal acne and I havent had an issue with this at all. Just make sure to thouroughly rinse it off or it will irritate your skin. People seemed to loveee this product so I wanted to love it too, but I don’t think it lives up to the hype. It’s surprisingly not as drying as expected (I have combo skin). My skin is used to harsher products so I used it 2x day for almost 6-7 weeks and it has definitely diminished the appearance of bumps and acne (I have papules: the big red bumpy and inflammatory type of acne), but it hasn’t gotten entirely rid of everything like for other people. It’s definitely worth a try imo, but keep expectations low. I find that using hydrating serums right after works much better (before using a moisturizer ofc) + maybe don’t use it 2x day but rather alternate between this and a salicylic acid cleanser instead. The size is a nice bonus too imo! if you use it as often as I do, it would probably last you 3 months, potentially 4-5 months with less frequent use :)
