I'm no stranger to vitamin c products, my skin is already used to the other product, the Paula's choice 25 booster. I bought the booster as a spot treatment because I have a lot of pigment spots all over my skin, but especially on my forehead. With that product, you notice that your skin is peeling, which is a good sign. It also 'bites' more than the 25% serum this review is about. Paula's Choice says that her 25% serum helps against dull skin, wrinkles and pigmentation. I've been using the product for over a month now. Photo 1 was on day 1, photo 2 after 4+ weeks. Like flakes were coming off. After a week of using it twice a day, I still saw insufficient results on the pigment. Paula herself recommends combining the serum with the booster, so that's what I've been doing for the past three weeks. Findings: your skin becomes wonderfully soft That promised glow is definitely there, especially if you also exfoliate regularly. For fine lines and pigment, it has done disappointingly little for me (see photos). I'm 39 years old and I take good care of my skin. I think the serum can work very well for younger ladies who mainly want soft skin with a nice glow. I also think it does help against pimples and scars, because they have become much less for me! So a delicious product, but not a panacea for pigment

This is a confusing product. Although I love the ingredients, the texture of this serum is a big miss by Paula's Choice. The texture is not at all like a true serum, but rather a mid weight moisturizer that is not moisturizing. It has a rather thick silky feel that tends to sit on top of the skin and leaves a film that does not absorb. I like to use my vitamin C serum as a first step in my skincare routine but I can't do that with this product because the thick film it leaves behind will not allow other serums or products in my routine to get through. Skincare should generally be applied from thinnest to thickest. Therefore, although not ideal, I decided to use this product as the last step in my morning routine before my sunscreen but that hasn't been working out ... MoreThis is a confusing product. I would not even consider using a chemical sunscreen with this product because I believe it would block chemical filters from getting into the skin. I would only recommend this product to those who do not intend to use any other product in their routine other than this under sunscreen and have the time to wait for a while for it to somewhat absorb before applying sunscreen. I am in my 40s and have been using Paula's Choice for over a decade and this is the first product I have ever been so disappointed with. If this product is reformulated and put into a true serum like vehicle, it can be fantastic.

I purchased this serum in january and id a lot of research on it's ingredients. I was using pure vitamin c at 12 percent last summer, but in the winter i wasn't able to use that anymore, so i was looking for a potent but gentle vitamin cserum. I researched all the inactive forms of vitamin c and thought thd would be the best.I have tried this serum all this time and have not been able to fully tolerate it. so i eliminated all other forms of actives and tried to slowly introduce them back. I used all barrier supporting cremes and serums alongside to tolerate. It has left my skintone WAY WORSE. I look five years older then i did before using this serum. Pigmentation also got worse, really it did nothing for me. The bottle is at it's end almost, and it did nothing good for me. I truly gave it everything and had such high hopes for this. It was a waste of money, and terrible results. I did not even discuss the horrible smell, but id it worked that would be no problem for me.i am 34 woman combination sensitive skin. Light skintone, pigmentation and fine lines.
What a great product! 5 stars, and I'd love to tell you why! Effect I love the short-term effect of vitamin C: after just a few days, my skin is smoother, fresher and more radiant! I look forward to applying it to my face every day because it just feels great. Since I found a good care routine for my skin, I think I no longer need makeup (foundation, etc.). I think vitamin C has contributed a large part to that. I can't say anything about the long-term effect yet. My goal is ultimately to fade a few light spots around my eyes, but so far they are still there unchanged (after 5 weeks). Use I use vitamin C25 twice a day, after cleansing. In the morning, I'll do the Resist Anti-Aging Day Cream with SPF afterwards. In the evening, I finish with the Skin Recovery night ... MoreWhat a great product! 5 stars, and I'd love to tell you why! Use I use vitamin C25 twice a day, after cleansing. In the morning, I'll do the Resist Anti-Aging Day Cream with SPF afterwards. In the evening, I finish with the Skin Recovery night cream, both from Paula's Choice. Vitamin C combines well with these creams. When I first started taking vitamin C, I slowly built it up. Fragrance Paula's Choice does not add perfume, so all products smell neutral or sometimes like the active ingredients that happen to have a scent. That's one of the reasons I love everything about Paula's Choice so much, no unnecessary additions that don't help your skin. The scent of this vitamin C is somewhere between neutral and subtle clay-like. I find the scent pleasant. Comparison I have already used Paula's Choice vitamin C15 Super Booster a few times for this. This is a pipette with an odorless aqueous liquid, a few drops of which can be spread over your face. Personally, I like the liquid substance better on my face than the 25% lotion-like substance. It feels even lighter and easier to stack if you also use other care products or makeup. An important difference, of course, is that the 25% contains a higher percentage of vitamin C and a different form of vitamin C. In addition, they are combined with other antioxidants. Only one way to find out which one is better for you. Packaging Handy pump! Two pumps are sufficient for the entire face + neck. It feels like I'm not halfway through after five weeks of

This weekly treatment has noticeably improved my skin's tone and texture. It's helped fade discoloration and improved the look of fine lines and wrinkles. FYI: I clean my face with PC's Calm Ultra-gentle cleanser and don't use any exfoliant products for 48 hours post-treatment. On the third day, I return to my regular skincare routine. I use PC's 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol mixed with other PC products in the evening to maintain my results. 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione serum works and because my skin can tolerate it, I definitely recommend it.
I was surprised to see that from my count, 75 of the five star reviews are from individuals who were "gifted" this product from PC. While not uncommon, it definitely does alter the weight of the reviews.I have been using this product since the spring of this year and while the consistency is great and it's a pleasure to wear, I haven't noticed a dramatic improvement in my skin tone. I do take very good care of my skin, but for the ingredients, price and the very small amount of product I was hoping to see my skin improve more. I was so hoping I did. However, I will not miss the price point of this product in my routine especially for the very small amount of it in the container. Also, I saw a review mention this product contained silicone (I always wondered why it sat more on top of my skin instead of sinking in). I had a few months of breakouts on my chin which I normally don't have. A few were deep like cysts. I now wonder if this product contributed to those.I'm glad I gave it a shot. It may work for some and that's great, but I have given it a long time and just didn't see the results I had hoped for.
I have been using Paula's products for 22 years. I have a few staples. Went out on a limb and tried this. I have been consistently using it for 6 months (one pump is plenty for entire face and since 11/23, this is the 3rd bottle I have opened, using one pump twice a day). So one bottle lasts me 2 months. Still, that is $30 a month in addition to the other products I use, so for me it is way overpriced. I did also start using another vitamin C serum from a highly rated product found on Amazon so not entirely sure if my results are solely due to this product but I have noticed that I am getting more compliments on my skin. My skin is more even toned, smooth and dewy. The smell is a bit "citrusy" and pleasant. I am 52 with normal skin. Most recent purchase (March 2024) had a smell I could not tolerate and smelled "off" I do understand and appreciate that Paula's products do not contain added fragrance and the smell can vary, but what I received was not tolerable. I reached out to customer service (in 22 years I have never had to do this) letting them know about my experience and feel very taken care of and a valued customer. Due to price of this product, I only purchase this when there is a decent promotion.
I try to use this serum twice a day. What l love about it is not only the high percentage of stable vitamin C, but how rich and smooth this product is! It feels absolutely luxurious on the skin and absorbs beautifully leaving no residue nor does it pill or sting. I also love that it's not leaving an orange stain on my face or clothing which most vitamin c products made with ascorbic acid can do. Thanks Paula - I've tried all your vitamin C products and this one is hands down the very best of them all!
I’m not sure why others are upset at the smell - it’s a very faint vanilla/orange cream. Maybe they’re expecting some tatcha-level fragrance? But a big schtick for Paula’s Choice products is that they have minimal, if any, fragrance. Their OG products have very limited ingredient lists in general (that’s why they’re so competitive on price). In this one, yhey tried branching out into this new/fancy formulation of Vit C (tetrahexyldecyl) and still it’s a good price point compared to other brands using this, but the formula falls flat for my tastes. It’s not viscous enough - to really spread the product I either have to slather it on (like 2+ pumps) or I have to use a lot of pressure and heat from friction to get less than 2pumps to cover my whole face. It’s not too ... MoreI’m not sure why others are upset at the smell - it’s a very faint vanilla/orange cream. It’s not viscous enough - to really spread the product I either have to slather it on (like 2+ pumps) or I have to use a lot of pressure and heat from friction to get less than 2pumps to cover my whole face. It’s not too sticky and decently moisturizing so you *could* use it in lieu of moisturizer or as a primer. But I prefer my creamy creams, and this formula is just too heavy a sub-product under my faves. I think it was also pilling a bit - only after a long day, so it was hard to pin what the cause was, but this was the only silicone product in my lineup. And this is specific to me - but I have sensitive eyeballs and this stuff makes mine water if I use it on my lids. Or really anywhere inside the orbital rim, but that’s where I want the goods! I usually get this from sunscreens, but I was committing the cardinal skincare sin and not applying sunscreen this winter (while I was mostly in the house!) but I still got the leaky corners. It took me a beat to figure out this was the culprit, but it’s the last daytime step I was using at the time, and removing it did the trick.
