Love this game. The concept is very sweet - you have the get the owls back to their next before sunrise. And I love that it’s cooperative. My 3 1/2 year-old has enjoyed playing this game. Shipping was fast and efficient.

This is a great game. I have two daughters less than 2 years apart. They both just turned 4 and 6. We play a game almost every night at our house after supper before bed and have played lots of different ones. My 4 year old saw this and just had to have it. I am glad we got it. I think teaching kids competition and how to win and lose gracefully is important but it is a nice change to have cooperative games too. It teaches kids to communicate and work together and my 6 year old especially loves that we are on a team and win or lose together. We played this 6 times right when we got it and the girls just couldn't get enough. The Owls are adorable and the girls love the game being get the baby Owls to the nest before the sun rises. We played this 6 times right when we got it and the girls just couldn't get enough. The Owls are adorable and the girls love the game being get the baby Owls to the nest before the sun rises. Helping the babies get home was the perfect object. The game also teaches some strategy and thinking ahead. You do have to plan ahead and work together or you will not win. Trying to teach the kids that you want to spread the owls out on the same color to enable you to jump and get around the board faster isn't always easy. The kids love that either the players win or the sun wins. Game plays much like candy land. You draw colored cards and move to the next space of that color. However two Owls can not occupy the same spot so you jump it and go to the next available spot of the color. You need to get all the Owls all the way around the board to the nest to win. You can choose how many Owls to start with. The game itself comes in a really durable box. Much better than most games. The board is nice and thick again better quality than most games. The little Owls are cardboard but nice and thick. I think they will last a long time. The card board cards are also a thick cardboard but they aren't laminated. They will bend. The colors are vibrant and the game itself is well thought out and well made. Great quality for the price. I will be looking at more games from this manufacturer.

Fun cooperative game
27 December 2021

I really like this game. I purchased it for my 3 year old. The board is colorful and the game is relatively easy to understand. The only thing I don't love is that the pieces (not the cards) to the game are thin cardboard. The owl pieces are about the size of a quarter and not easy to pick up. My biggest issue is with the little sun piece which is smaller than a penny and we will likely loose it in a month. Just wish they were a bit more substantial.

Great family game fir little ones

We are enjoying family board games with our youngest family member. She enjoys owls so I chose this game. I like that it is a cooperative game …. Some members of the family are quite competitive and I think that can be discouraging for the littles.

Great game for all ages!
11 October 2021

We love this game so much that I bought another as a gift for my nephew. I first bought this one when my daughter was 4. She's an owl lover, and I liked the cooperative aspect. At 4, we played pretty much like Candy Land, draw a card and move to the corresponding color. Now at 6, we're working on strategy. She's starting to get pretty good at planning moves ahead of just one singular move, and working together to get the owls moving further per turn. We have a couple different Peaceable Kingdom games, but this one is our favorite.

I've never seen my kids work together so well.
6 November 2017

My children are cut-throat competitive board gamers, but Hoot Owl Hoot forced them to cooperate and work together to win as a team... and I nearly cried watching it! They are ages 4, 6 and 8 and literally NEVER get along without fighting, but they strategized together through the entire game, encouraged each other, booed together when anyone drew a sun card and high-fived and hugged when they all won. The game itself is made out of very high quality materials too, with adorable bright, colorful graphics. It'll last through many years of regular use. I can't recommend it enough. Amazing game. Every parent of young siblings NEEDS Hoot Owl Hoot.

So cute! One small problem
7 November 2017

Hoot Owl Hoot is a great little cooperative game where kids work together to get everyone back to the nest before the sun rises. I was surprised how quickly the kids began helping each other move forward and how excited they got when someone else reached the nest. It is rated for 4+ but my 3 year old played it easily. Any child who knows their colors could play. The only issue we had was the owl tokens are all the owl tokens are the same color so the kids had a hard time remembering which one of the owls was theirs. Overall it didn’t really matter since the goal is to get everyone to the nest, but it was a little confusing.

THE Best Choice for early board games
11 December 2018

I bought Hoot Owl Hoot for my son when he was 5, and it's still one of his favorites to play at age 8.A perfect game for encouraging cooperative play, which is working as a team to achieve the desired goal. In this case, the goal is getting all the owls back to their nest before the sun comes out.Overall game quality is excellent with fantastic vibrant colors on a durable game board and pieces/tokens. The paper sleeve/envelope for storing pieces/tokens is getting a little worn for us, but expected after 3 years.Great for teaching turn-taking and strategy. At first my son would just move any owl. Then he caught on to scanning the board, seeing which owls were behind, and then moving the owl to where the distance it traveled was maximized, and not to let any owls ... MoreI bought Hoot Owl Hoot for my son when he was 5, and it's still one of his favorites to play at age 8.A perfect game for encouraging cooperative play, which is working as a team to achieve the desired goal. We say "hoot" whenever an owl is moved over each spot, not just when it passes an owl, it's the best way to play!

We've only played it twice
5 January 2022

We've only played it twice so far but the kids (who ranged from 3 to 7 years old) were all engaged at their own level with the older ones helping the younger child. We had adults playing too but the older kids got the concept quickly and didn't need much help. I liked that it was a co-operative game, could be played at different levels to maintain interest (we were playing with 3 owlets to start with but that can increase to 6 as kids become more proficient players) and had eco-friendly packaging.
