The Pentel Graph 1000 is a premier mechanical pencil designed for drafting professionals. Its long, slim sleeve gives it precision when running along the edge of rulers and templates and allows you a view of what you’re drawing. An all-brass three-jaw clutch mechanism provides exceptional lead support. Each click of the top-knock button extends a length of lead equal to the diameter of the lead. Specially-weighted to bring its centre of gravity close to the writing tip, the Graph 1000’s cylindrical body is comfortable to write with. The rubber-insert grip further enhances writing comfort. The Graph 1000 also features a removable metal pocket clip, a replaceable eraser under the cap, and lead grade indicator in the push-button. It is ideal for professional drafting and for sketching, drawing, and everyday writing.

This is a really great pencil. It comes already loaded with quite a bit of graphite( the "lead") and it's a nicer graphite that I really enjoy using. It has a great feel in the hand and the grip is really comfortable. The eraser is pretty good also. My only problem is the pencil tip is slightly at an angle that makes retracting the graphite really stiff and difficult and the packaging was just a plastic sleeve. So if it had better packaging and QC it would be a five star pencil for me. Other than the two minor notes it is a solid pencil that's worth checking out.

At first glance this pencil appears to be a slimmer, plastic version of the metal GraphGear 1000, for around the same price. However, the addition of "for Pro" to its name suggests that it is designed for much more precise use than its heavier and chunkier metal stablemate. This is a light, quite slim pencil with a comfortable rubber finger grip. I found it a delightful pencil to use and a worthy addition to any mechanical pencil stable. My only criticism is that the lead-grade indicator in the cap (a good idea) is biased to H grade leads, with only one B label.

This is the mech pencil that makes you stop longing for the perfect mech pencil and thinking oh I have to try yet something else . Because it is perfect. Perhaps not at a first glance, but once you start using it you“ll know. I“m pretty sure this is what perfect design is: it helps you to focus on your work instead of your tool. It has absolutely nothing distracting. The grip is very pleasant to the fingers - nothing too sharp/heavy/light/metallic/plasticky/slippery/rugged/wide/thin. It“s also a joy to behold in its understated ageless classiness. Buying this beauty will save you money because you will be content with what you have (such a rare experience, isn“t it...). Good for the long haul.I have owned this pencil for 5 years and used it exclusively for Math/Physics/Statistics homework. Considering that this is all I ever seem to be doing I cannot recommend this pencil enough. I bought it when I started taking my major classes in college and have used it for every exam and homework since. Now I'm a year into a PhD program and have completed a masters. This guy is a lucky charm.Another great thing is that if you are surrounded by nerds with other cool pencils you will have the unique one. All the other students will have their graph gear 1000s and rotrings and you'll still have the best. No comparison.I even bought a 0.7 to write my final submissions with so that they can be scanned more clearly.I can't recommend this ...Ā MoreGood for the long haul.I have owned this pencil for 5 years and used it exclusively for Math/Physics/Statistics homework. This pencil is light but not too light, which makes for a very balanced writing experience. The chuck holds the lead like a clamp solidly to ensure stability. The outer grip is very comfortable and enables extended usage. Not to mention the cool, slim look which is quite appealing. Now I understand the hype behind this pencil. My only (tiny) gripe is that there is no cleaning rod on the eraser, which I had to order separately.

there are drafting pencils that fit each persons palm, hand or fingers 'just right'. the steel and rubber grip to the body of the pencil and great weight has made this a constant in my arsenal of drafting pencils. What sets apart this from others is the simple feel of the body. It does not boast a high ergonomic grip or some pressure body for holding, it is a simple drafting pencil. I use drafting pencils for some basic drawing and writing, the body is thin but feels sturdy in my breast pocket and carrying pocket.fun fact. I've owned a pentel graph 1000 for nearly 10 years. I re-ordered this in 2013 and again in 2016. 2014 was a terrible year -- I learned that with enough pressure and at the right angle these rough machines can be bent and unusable.the pentel graph 1000 for everyone? perhaps not. but I found my spirit drafting pencil and I will continue to buy them as long as they remain in production.

OK now on to the review so after waiting like almost a week in a half< not bad, I finally got the items now. This pencil at sight got me a bit worried about the nib and the grip but man was I wrong when I got it in person its amazing how nice the grip feels and the nib seems strong enough, but im set with keeping it safe and scratch free with the nomadic tri-fold also brought here on jetpets! and everything seems really nice and mostly perfect! there was no body roll or screeches when writing with it, the only noises I can hear is that sweet sound of a drafting ...Ā MoreOK, now since I got my items from jetpets which is great! lets do a real review on how I like it, so first of all thanks to the person who answered my question I really appreciate it so thanks to Dio..... But don't get confused cause it is not top heavy so its like a neutral feeling. and overall its a great package and I can't wait to see how it performs in school on an everyday basis so yeah. and that also applies with the nib~David, Happy drafting :DPS thanks again to Dio..... I really appreciate a good review like that from you and from everyone!

The Pentel PG1005 'GRAPH 1000 For Pro' 0.5 is a high-quality and reliable drafting pencil. It is slim, lightweight, well-balanced, and durable. The 'GRAPH 1000" feels great in the hand and gives solid clicks. The lead storage chamber holds upwards of thirty leads. Other stylistically similar and equally excellent pencils include the Mitsubishi Uni M5-1052, Tombow Monotech 1000, and Staedtler 925 35 05 (black). The PG1005 lacks the all metal construction and knurled grip of the aforementioned pencils, but I honestly can't complain about this pencil; it's a battle-tested workhorse. For my illustration work, I use the Pentel PG1005 coupled with Mitsubishi Uni 0.5 leads and a Uni BOXY eraser. *Excellent JAPAN Quality*. No question about it, 10 out of 10.

So I emailed JetPens customer service just to ask why would they ship something in this manner?IMHO a company like JetPens which is patronized by pencil and pen addicts that are typically hyper about these writing and drawing implements..which I am ...Ā MoreJust got this a few weeks ago. To me its like they ruin the pencil.Customer service just gave me the standard BS about it being delivered from the factory like that..I could return it..etc., etc., etc.,Now I like JetPens immensely. Best all around selection, prices, free shipping..blah, blah, blah...and mostvstuff i buy comes in perfect, nicely packaged, but if anyone at JetPens is reading this stuff I'd suggest you go back to the sales office and get your factory or Pentel to not stick sku labels on the product itself. I expect more from JetPens. This pencil is not the most exspensive thing but for 14.00 bucks you guys could stick them in a little cellophane bag and keep those *#!?*%! Sticky labels that ruin the pencil- off.Cheers

I don't usually care to review items, but I felt the need to respond to one in particular from "sun..." as he/she seems to lack comprehension of how retail works, and is disparaging JetPens CS which has been nothing but awesome in my experience. The label on this pencil is clearly a manufacturer label which JetPens does not apply, hence the Japanese characters, and manufacturer branding and barcode. Pretty sure they weren't BS-ing you on this one since the 0.3 mm size I bought at a local Japanese stationery shop has the same label. I contacted JetPens CS about the same thing and they profusely apologized for said residue, and gave some suggestions on how to remove it completely. But I mean really, as full-grown adults who live in a consumer society, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of us have figured out how to remove sticky residue from items we buy; it's not rocket science. Talk about first world problems./rantOtherwise, this pencil is the bees knees for a high quality drafting pencil at a fair price. I have three different sizes (two of which I bought here after discovering the site) and I love them all. I normally prefer heavier all-metal pencils, but this is by far my favorite plastic model for light weight sketching.
