Used it on a couple shoots now and havent had any problems with it. Getting transfer speeds of just under 300mb/s. I'm sure I could get more if i fiddled with my HDD's and SSD'sThe thing is built like a brick and comes with some extra thick cables. A strong plus. Theres also a strong magnet built in the bottom which I havent found a use for yet but I can confirm it works on the fridge for safe keeping.

Used it to import images from 16 students into Lightroom during workshop critiques. Using usb3.1 port, 9th gen i7, geforce rtx2060 and fast ssd drive. Hard to imagine a faster import process. Lightroom import was 3-4 times faster than with lexar usb 3.0 reader. Very satisfied. Delivered when promised.

Reader gets noticeably warm when it's simply plugged in, sitting unusedProGrade reader is slowest of three, transfer speed averages 190MB/s with USB 3.1 portSame card and files transfer at an average speed of 240MB/s using a Lexar 400, 3.0 reader plugged into a USB 3.0 port, Lexar dual-slot Model: LRW400U Rev ASame card and files transfer at an average speed of 225MB/s using a Lexar LRWM04U-70000 Rev AR, UHS-II SD reader plugged into a USB 3.0 port(Files transfer to a Samsung SSD 850 512GB hard drive)
I purchased this card reader at the same time I bought a 512GB ProGrade memory card with the expectation that purchasing card and reader from the same manufacturer would be a good idea. This one DID NOT disappoint. It is fast, sleek, and has worked flawlessly for the 2 weeks that I've been using it.The unit has an unusual mounting feature. It comes with a metal-adhesive plate that can be mounted on your laptop or other surface and the magnetic base of the card reader hold it fast to the metal plate. Finally, it comes with USB to USB-C and a USB-USB-A cables.
The ProGrade Digital Dual-Slot CFAST and SD Reader is a fantastic product. Presently, I am filming 16 short narrative scenes for SUNY Purchase College's Senior BFA Acting program. We're shooting BRAW 12:1 along with a 3D LUT onto CFAST cards and the sound recorded to SD cards. The ProGrade Digital Dual-Slot reader saves us time by allowing us to transfer (CheckSum) CFAST and SD content simultaneously to our media drives. This dual card reader is AWESOME!Sincerely, Gomez Creative Media
I've used multiple SDXC readers over the years, and this is by far the best of the bunch. It is obviously limited by the read speed of the SD Card itself, but its performance is amazing. And the fact that it can be mounted on the side of your PC Chassis with its built-in magnet is a massive bonus. It's always exactly where I want it to be.
I purchased this for use with CFAST cards. I already had an SD card reader. I would have liked this better if it also sported a microSD slot. But I keep adapters around for that purpose anyway. I don't mind the magnet on the bottom, but I'm not sure what to stick it on. I like the looks of the unit, and the flat top allows me to also stack things on it now and then. I've only used it a few times so far, but it feels plenty robust, and reads plenty fast.
I'm absolutely shocked that more people do not mention that on the bottom of the reader is a giant (1 by 1) neodymium magnet.A lot of filmmakers still use cheaper drives that still use Hard Drives and this reader will definitely ruin your data.I was able to remove the magnet by peeling back the rubber on the underside. The magnet is covered by a sticker that says, ProGrade.I am horrified that ProGrade thought adding a high-strength magnet to the bottom of a card reader would be a good idea.Other than that, the card reader works great!
I replaced another card reader with this one. I'd been having trouble getting the reader to mount. The problem appears to be with the PCI card I'm plugging into. Both card readers work fine in any other configuration other than when I'm plugged into the PCI card I'm using. Wish that the sales person would have taken the time to understand my problem.
